Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Omotola222: 1:41pm On Dec 03, 2021
Can someone please answer me

Hi guys, pls I got my I-20 form today which it’s written on it that section commence 3rd of January. And I already send a mail to the school yesterday immediately I receive the admission letter that i need them to defer my admission to March/April but to my surprise I receive the i-20 form today.. I want to know if I can still write them again to defer the admission and also send me another I-20 form…

I would also need advise about my sponsor my uncle in the USA is my sponsor (he is a police officer ) which his SOA I submitted to the school has about $52k in it and the tuition fee is just $21k. My question now is having my sponsor in the US won’t be a red flag…. And my sponsor staying in Maryland which the school is about 2hrs 30mins away from the school won’t be a red flag also….

Good morning, I initially had a date for Abuja on the 8th of December but I received a mail this morning telling me my date had been rescheduled till February 2022, even though I didn't reschedule my date and on my portal, I saw that my appointment date had been changed also. Please can you suggest the next steps I can take?

Hello everyone, So my visa got denied in August this year and I reapplied and my interview is dec 15th
Anyways I need help
Firstly, I finished high school in 2016
Did a photography training in 2017
Went to Oau for predegree program in 2018-2019
And couldn’t go to school in 2020 cos of the pandemic but I’ve been working in an hospital ever since till date and started applying to school 2021
My question is are all these good reasons to say during my interview
Secondly, I’m going for nursing and I’m really interested in geriatric nursing but to be a geriatric nurse I need to do a 18-24month training after my BSN degree which the university I’m going to offers
Question is should I mention this during the interview
Lastly, during my last interview I applied for Bachelor’s (ASN) but now I changed it to the normal (BSN) same school
Question here is, Is this a problem?
Please your suggestions and advices will be greatly appreciated thank you

Thanks alot. This will help, I have long submitted my ds160 but all my job roles is on my field.
barbieburl:
Ok. Try either or both:

- you have noticed over time that experience alone won't get you into a leadership role, that people with advanced degrees get promoted faster. You already have the experience but the masters degree will put you in a better position and make you competitive.

- You are only just getting it now because you wanted to gain experience and properly understand the area you wish to specialize in before you make the investment. Now you are ready to specialize and the masters is your first step towards that.

Don't be lax in filling your ds160 too. Be sure to frame your current work in a way that makes sense for the masters.

Hello my people, is anyone here going to Eastern Michigan University? (January in take? I’m working on mine and it would be nice to connect with people that are also heading there. Cheers

Visa interview is just formality

Your DS-160 form has been reviewed and decided upon days before your interview and the visa interview is just a second chance to overturn the decision already made.

I don't think this is entirely true to be honest. Do you know how many they will have to check and also any VO can interview you. So I don't think it's logical, what you're saying. They may look at it at the moment to decide but not beforehand.

Well, there's a barcode on your DS 160. A comment as whether to refuse or approve you might have been made on your ds160 that can only been seen by the VO. I guess that's why you can do anything to your DS160 3 days prior to your interview

I feel a good application depends on the information in your I-20, and being able to defend it well.

I-20 or DS-160 sir?

In as much as I want to believe this, the truth is that you cannot make changes once you submit you do-160

Also, what information could have guided their decision from the form

Personal or work information??
