Boarding schools is Mostly for Errant and Weak parents!
Also Selfish Parents who focus on Wealth pursuits and Businesses!

Those Days, Parents put in their Children in Boarding schools because there were living in Villages and the Boarding school was in the City e.g Warri, Ibadan, Lagos, PH, Onitsha,etc..

Currently, It's not like dat!..
Parents do Not have Strong Reasons in Registering Their kids in Boarding schools!

Boarding schools are not for errant and weak parents like you put it. The distance of the school from home is one factor that makes parents send their children to boarding schools especially when such parents have preferences for a particular school. Like in the case at hand, it is possible that the boy's family house is far from school and in order to beat Lagos traffic congestion, the parents decided to send the boy to boarding house so he doesn't have to contend with traffic congestion to and from school as that would affect his academic performances and even poses a security risk.

Also, sending children to boarding houses is a way of preparing them for independent living. It helps in preparing children psychologically towards their individuality and to think and work independently. It also improves children's social skills as many have built good relationships in boarding schools that later helped them survive in the wider world after school.

Therefore, the boy's parents shouldn't be blamed in this case for sending their son to boarding house, instead let us blame the management of Dowen college for failing in their responsibility to protect the boy despite the huge amount of money his parents paid as school fees. Let's not channel our blames appropriately and stop diverting attention from the main issue on flimsy grounds!

Our judiciary system is just rubbish including the people in it. Shouldn't there be prosecutors taking up the issues by now, shouldn't the police have arrested those cultist and their parents. I worked as a teach for many years so I can categorically tell you that the school management knows what happened to him. The students involved would have confessed already but the management will try to cover it up cos they want to protect the school.

Never mind my young friend. You need to understand the deep pain that family passes through right now. It is called the “nightmare of parents”. Seeing the death of their biological children. It is easier to lose money or other physical things. Even the siblings are in very deep pain as we speak. We all need to call evil by its name and not speak because we are not in that pain.
