Do I need a consent letter if I'm going to meet my partner in the Uk with my child? The visa we have is Dep visa filled by him.

I presume his father is in the UK ?....

Get him to issue you a consent letter + biometric data page of his passport (to avoid overzealous officials, feasting on your pocket)........ cheesy

So what happens if you’re not a UK citizen and your entry visa has only just been given? Do they extend it?

Lexusgs has offered you a letter, but going forward, when you need to write such a thing, note that there are no pre-standardised and officially approved templates to follow failing which the letter is useless and they'll bounce you at the airport. Simply state the basics of what you need to state in such a letter, under a "To whom it may concern" heading, along the lines of "I (name, passport number, residing at [UK address] am the father of (Name, passport number) and I hereby confirm that I consent to my wife (name, passport number) travelling with my son to the United Kingdom to join me here.

I can be reached on [Tel no] in the event of any queries.

Thank you...bla bla bla.

Signature.

Easy as anything.

Until you walk in this shoe , is all I can say. Its not an easy waka taking in others, carrying your load and another person (even if na sibling) ..... but I give it to the Asians. Them dey try when it comes to lifting each other even of its a great inconvenience

Picture seen and copied from facebook, don't know the author

Pop of India - 1.38b, Pop of Nigeria - 206m. We can't even begin to compete in terms of the sheer number of people they have to be employed in these places.

I do agree with you tho that the Asians (Indians, Pakistanis especially) will unite to lift themselves. I was chatting with a Nigerian friend about how all corner shops are owned by Indians who employ only Indians. They will live 3 families to one house and pay down the mortgage on that, then pool resources and buy for the next person then rinse and repeat. They will not only employ family members but sort visas etc. Our people no go gree to share house like that o

It's a lot harder for us to do so abroad even though we do it at back home. It's an interesting phenomenon!

Hi all, would appreciate some urgent advice please if anyone is online at the moment.

Trying to book an urgent flight for someone from Nigeria and Virgin has notified me that the person has to come with the card I'm using for the booking before check in. They mentioned that the flight would be canceled and money forfeited if this requirement is not met.

I have read some threads online and some people sorted this by sending a photo of the card to the traveler (as well as a letter to prove that they indeed booked the flight for the traveler), but have also seen comments of people who were denied check in because of this.

Does anyone have any experience with this please, especially while traveling from Nigeria? Due to timing, flight duration and some other factors, the traveler has to use Virgin.

The traveler's last name is the same with the last name on the card used for booking the flight.

Send the person the funds to buy it in Nigeria..... No physical presence of payment card = no carriage .......

If you have these, you are a UK resident and should be ready with funds to quarantine in a hotel.
