At the time of Jesus Christ's Birth,King Herod was king in Judea, ruling from Jerusalem. He was a murderous king,so obsessed and jealous of his power,that he killed his favorite wife,Marianne and two of his sons.
Satan wanted to destroy the Infant Jesus,and who could be a better instrument, if not murderous Herod.
If the star was from God,it would have led the wise men to Bethlehem first.
But first it led them first to Jerusalem where Herod was,thus endangering the Baby's life.The Evil King became aware of Christ's Birth and craftily sought to eliminate the"new threat" to his throne.
We all know the rest of the story.

What I learn from this,the road to the promised land is not a straight one. In our world,we need to keep our eyes on the price no matter the tilts & turns on the way to our goals.

Joseph was thrown in the pit,went through wilderness,prison then palace.

The star was from God, to guide the wise men who were His prophets from the East, to where His begotten Son was, so that He would get a befitting respect worthy of a king, even though He was yet a baby and lay in a lowly manger inside a barn.

I read it.., but I ddnt see anywhere it says the star specifically directed them to Herod...
It directed them to Bethlehem..., as strangers .. it only made sense to go and ask the authority of the land of such important personality.....

The Star is from God. It only comes whenever a Divine being like Jesus is born on earth.

It is meant to herald the presence of a special person on earth.

The 3 kings were prenatally chosen to find and use their riches to protect the sacred Child. They were experts at Astrology that was why they could recognise the Star and also calculate it's trajectory to Bethlehem.

As Kings that they were, they also had to obey courtesy so they had to visit the king of the region where the Redeemer was born. They went to Herod with joy to announce to him the presence of God's jewel with the hope that Herod too would recognise and pay Him homage.

It was Herod's evil mind unknown to the 3 Kings or wise men as they call them that felt threatened . He felt his lineage would loose the right to kingship with the birth of Jesus.

Lucifer projected this into his mind and he carried it out thereby serving as the first tool for the Antichrist. But the Christ could not be stopped.

God does not impede on the exercise of our free will. Herod chosed his path and he paid for it.

Give God the glory of perfection and all things would be clear to you.

U are the one that lack comprehension of locations in bible stories..Where exactly is Jerusalem and Bethlehem that you are painting a picture that star led the 3 astrologers elsewhere...instead of directly to Jesus..??
