"Cancel your visa and get a refund:

If you do not want a visa any more, you can ask for a refund. You can only request a refund if:

you have not yet been to the Visa Application Centre to give your biometrics (fingerprints and photograph)

And

you want your visa application to be cancelled. A refund means that your application will not be processed.

You may have paid a User Pay Visa Application Centre fee as part of your application, depending on the Visa Application Centre you chose for your appointment. You will only get a refund of this part of your fee if you cancel your application and claim a refund more than 5 days ahead of your scheduled appointment date.

If your request for a refund is successful, your money will be refunded to the same account you used when you paid for your application"

Dear all,

My biometric appointment at TLS Ikeja is built for 9th Dec, i also wish to cancel my visa application today 5th Dec, but based on the excerpts above, do you think I can get a refund from TLS (N42,000 premium lounge + N8,000 express courier) and UKVI ( $133 application fees+ GBP220 priority fees)? since its already less than 5 days to the biometric appointment?

Pls, I look forward to your urgent responses. Thank you.

Hello am on the same boat with this person. I applied on Friday 03/12/2021 and paid for super priority against Monday which is 6/12/2021.does it mean I won’t get a refund after cancellation? Since I applied on Friday and canceled on Saturday

I tot it was only UK & Irish nationals that have that option to Quarantine in a govt hotel for 10days? Is that option also available for Non residents or citizens?
Lifeisgoody:
I meant cost of Hotel booking during your stay in Dubai for 10days plus flight and other expenses. Is it not almost same as travelling directly to the UK from Nigeria and pay for the mandatory 10days quarantine

For now it is not available to non residents

Ok thankyou. Tot as much.
That means the other route will be the best option then. Staying 2weeks in either Turkey or Dubai n enter the UK from there since 1 has been out of Nigeria for 10days.. abi?

Good morning everyone. Please I want to ask that since Nigeria would be added to the red list as from Monday. I hope this won’t have anything to do with the decision at the uk embassy or have them pause work or something, for those of us that are still on the waiting list for our visa. Being a Nigerian, and the country as already been added to the red list

I would rather spend 10 days in another country as a free human being than spend 10 days in their government hotel where they treat people like animals!
Go and watch YouTube videos on the horrible treatment people got in those hotels!!!
Imagine them feeding a Muslim man pork after he had told them several times that he can’t eat it! The man starved for days!!!
That money is better spent in Dubai or Turkey where you won’t be miserable.
The uk keeps proving how greedy and money hungry they are! angry

You are right. I would rather spend the 14days in Dubai or Istanbul and enjoy myself rather than being in any Quarantine hotel where they wldnt even treat 1 right. I will pass on their 10days Q and do 14days in another country.

"Have residence rights in the UK"

Does "residence right" in this context include someone who has a BRP, regardless of whether the person is a citizen or not?

UK Citizens are signing a petition already..! We hope this gets better and we still hope Nigeria gets removed from their Red list as soon as possible

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by DhammiBB: 11:50am On Dec 05, 2021
Atleast if we can quarantine at home in the UK. It’s still much better and even safer..! 2k pounds is really much especially for a student still trying to balance up the school fees payment!!!! God help us….

Benin republic is not in the uk red list zone, instead of spending money to turkey or dubai
Why not take a bus to benin republic or flight and stay for 14 days and move to uk, even ghana too

Hmmmmm that sounds like a really good idea. But my fear is African countries are a target. Ghana also has cases of the Omicron Virus. So they might likely be entering that UK red list as well.

Instead of paying for the UK 10 days hotel quarantine, why not travel to countries not on red list (e.g. Kenya) spend 10 days there and from there travel to UK

Kenya or Ghana?
Flight to Kenya + 14 days in a reasonably decent Airbnb/hotel there is definitely not cheap.
