You're correct. If you select "None of the above" it will take you to the old portal to sign up/sign in with GC-Key/Sign-In partners. Though it still states on it that they'll contact within 14 to 30 business days.

Another alternative people have been using to submit (e.g., tourism visa application) under the new portal is by going directly through the sign up link.

And that explains why CIC is probably using a priority list.

Same here, as at the time i applied, I choose the last option and I was redirected to the new portal.

You are still on track,Even the old portal is not progressive and what I think is that reuniting is priority to them that's why they are attending to them first.

There's a place in Canada immigration website Stated that the processing time determined by countries I think I seen something like that when I'm filling my application, Nigeria own is like 92 something days if I'm right

Don’t lose hope , even some people here reuniting with family got theirs on the 8th week exactly e.g submitted October 1st got approval December 1st

So we (I and my Mom) applied for a visiting visa to see my Bro who is a PR in Canada for a short stay. Initially I did the application through the old portal and days letter I found out about the new portal and applied again.

On the new portal we applied as a group (family), that was on 19th Nov 2021. PPR came 7th Dec for my mom and they refused me.

Reasons they gave for my refusal
- You will not come back based on your assets and financial status
- you will not come back based on your ties in Canada and country of residence
- you will not come back based on travel history ( I cannot do anything here really, I have not really had reason except for now to travel though)

Now this is the Issue - My mom is aged and cannot travel alone, we stated this in the application reason I am accompanying her. We are first time travellers. She is saying of what use is the visa when she cannot travel alone except someone she is comfortable (Family member) with accompanies her.

- I have a nice job (Manager position). I uploaded my employment letter
- my assets (Landed properties) are jointly owned with my bro in Canada. uploaded the docs too
- I have a running lease contract with MTN Nigeria. I uploaded the doc

So House, what else can I do in my situation to respond to them? Note, I did not upload my bank statement since it is my bro that is sponsoring the visit which he wrote letter of support with his bank statement. should I have uploaded my bank statement? Do I need to write a strong LOE putting emotions as to why my aged mom cannot travel alone and the visa could be of no use to her?

I hate stress, you see why I jejely dey my dey enjoying myself. I am going to spend money and whiteman is refusing me visa too!...... just for laughs

On a normal ground, if you are non Nigeria, you qualify for the visa 100%.

But as a Nigerian, your chance is 50% infact gan maybe lower.

Canadian embassy hardly issue visit visa for a young guy without travel history and you are even single......

Give it another shot anyways, nothing is impossible

Not to burst your bubble, My first GCKey application was July 2021. It’s over 100 days now and no response on it. So that number of days they put on their site is a lie.

At least the new IRCC Portal 30 working days is still true for people reuniting with family member in Canada.

My parents PPR has landed. Mom and Dad 1st application-Gckey - February 25th, 2021 ( still processing). 2nd application ( IRCC portal)- November 5th, 2021. BVL- December 8th, 2021. PPR- December 8th, 2021. Please can someone give me information on how to submit passport at the visa application centre

I believe it is average processing time.

My first application was pending for over 600 calendar days. My final application through the new portal would have been 30 working/business days today. I got PPR 2 days ago.

I guess my first application stands withdrawn. So if 1 application is processed in 1910 days and the and 9 are processed in 10 days, total days will be 2,000 and average processing time will be 2000/10 =20 days.

It seems it's the new applications being treated faster that is reducing the average processing time displayed. I have a friend who applied a month before my first application (662 days ago to be precise) and that application is still pending. Someone just stated that her mother's application was approved within 5 business days. Such an application, will lead to a drop in the average waiting time displayed.

And since it's average of Processed Applications, perhaps the ones not yet finalised do not form part of the base data set.

I checked yesterday and noticed that visit visa application from within Canada takes an average of 108 days compared to From Nigeria which currently stands at 92 days.

Applications from the new portal application are responsible for the significant drop in average processing time. It seems applications after September 7 from the old portal are also being treated faster. The ones from as far back as 2020 seem to remain on the queue having given people who believe they are qualified per the September 7 rules a chance to reapply through the new portal.

Thanks to all here. My elder brother who is married to a Canadian citizen has been requested to bring in his passport. He had to reapply about two weeks ago after waiting for almost 10 months and no update on his last application. He will not be doing biometric as his biometric is still valid.
Please apart from the letter requesting his passport, and the letter of biometric validity, what else his he expected to go with and his he expected to book an appointment to submit the passport?

I'll really appreciate your guidance on this.

Oh I see. Maybe that changed. As at today when I  select "None of the above" in the link and follow through with the simulation it takes one to the GC key portal to sign up/sign in. (Just like the screenshots I posted)

I also remember this tweet by IRCC; that could also be another factor.

Great to know that the travel ban hasn't slowed down things, and hopefully it doesn't.

From the current trend on this forum, whether from GCkey or new portal, it looks like parents are the ones receiving PPRs 90% at the moment.

I wonder if it was a glitch coz the link to new portal usually becomes visible when you select options other than the last. The last option directs to old portal as it's link becomes visible in this case.

I want to reapply for visit visa on the new IRCC portal, for the purpose of reuniting with my family in Canada.

I can't find where to input details of my on-going visit visa application with IRRC (application for visit visa renewal submitted January2021).

Travel authorization wasn't granted last year during the COVID 19 pandemic , my visit visa actually expired during this period.

For those that received PPR via the new IRCC portal, how and where on the new portal did you inform IRCC about previous visit visa application details.

I did a visa application for a client via the new portal and he got PPR yesterday.
Application submitted 25th Nov, 2021.
No biometrics cuz he did that in 2019. He has 2 sons studying in Canada and he has visited Canada once.

I think they are treating application pretty faster for those who have family members in Canada.

November?, that means your 30 working days haven’t completed yet.

Mine is October 29th and I haven’t gotten any response yet. Although, my 30 working days will complete tomorrow.

My husband has PR and he has been there for 2 years, we got married in nov, we have decided to commence spousal sponsorship for PR.
