One of the things I rate the most in a midfielder is positional awareness and space interpretation.

RLC severely lacks this. Always leaving empty spaces in the middle and doing his usual rubbish casual jog. He gets the ball, delays passes, does the unnecessary dribbling, squares his shoulder and then ends up making a bad decision

We probably need to add a new midfielder into our mix. One that can particularly understudy Kante

Mateo Kovacic was our best player before his injury. He was playing at unreal levels, cutting out a lot of unnecessary dribbling, releasing quick passes, and even contributing assists and one or two goals, while still remaining press resistant and improving his positioning.

RLC's highlights were in the second half of the 18/19 season under Sarri, when he was one of our best attackers alongside Hazard. It's a shame that injury happened, and in an inconsequential friendly too.

They are watching the angles that showed the ball hit his side first before hitting him under arm. To me, it was soft, but they acted like VAR reviewed it for a while before accepting it. The referee handling the VAR should be the one to explain. They should also explain how the handball in the first half was not reviewed nor the one when Phil Foden took a shot towards the end of the game.
