I just finished my HND two months ago.
I applied for a teaching job and I was called up for the interview and they offered me the job with a salary of 20k per month.
I am over 30 years and I will be exempted from the NYSC because I am of aged.
I am just tired of this life.
Please someone should come to my aid to help me with a better job.

Can you do the job while learning a skill?
Or do you have means of feeding and accommodation? will advise you learn a skill. In 3years, you will be done.

Teaching with 20k now eeehhh...

Ask most teachers with that pay, they have nothing to show for it.

Teaching keeps you busy but leaves your pocket empty.

See Mr. Man I know eVery body here will tell you to go into tech, but see ba, if your brain no catch, because that thing is not for everybody,
I will advise you to learn either barbing or driving, in two months you are ready to start earning , you could ask families to gather money for you to buy a tiny car for uber driving.

Don't listen to people that will tell you to mange the 25k, I can bet you that you go turn 55 years dey manage that 25k

Or with 10k you fit join apprenticeship for tailoring

You can work out NYSC even at 30 years of age.
Have seen older people in camp during my NYSC days.

Better to work out your NYSC because NYSC salary is bigger than the quoted 20k

Any course apart from medicine, nursing, law are mere waste of time. Don't go after management courses, engineering courses except you have connections in juicy offices or organisation.

If you can't do the afore mentioned courses, then, study education in universities or college of education. At least, you can still get private schools that will pay fairly well.

Relocate to high brow areas in Lagos, Abuja or Port Harcourt if you want to pursue a career in education.

If you have nothing to advise, please dont advise at all...

Have you seen an unemployed Civil, Mechanical Engineer?

Hello My brother.

Don't just look at your condition or financial status now, but please don't take it. You'll be stuck, you'll be relaxed, you won't have time to look for something better. If a job doesn't solve half of your financial obligations, it doesn't worth it.

I am a victim and I won't advice you to fall into the trap.

you can still do NYSC if you want to. Even age 40 is serving. But optional at that age. Below 30 is compulsory after 30 you decide .

whix skill at age of 30?
30 is still very young. It doesn't take eternity to learn a skill. You can learn UI/UX Design within 6months etc and become a freelancer.

Age is just a number, with determination he will do. There are some skills that you can learn within 4 months, 1 year, 2 -- 7 years, some skills can even be a part-time stuff, if you are determined

don't take it. Instead, find a good plumber, électrician or a builder in your neighbourhood and become his apprentice. Be submissive and open to learning. In 2 years you would be better of. You can offer plumbing or electrical services and even have a shop later on where you sell materials.

Everybody is entitled to his or her opinion. These are the reasons you should accept the job. 1. It will afford you the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience about the educational sector. 2. The education sector is a cash cow. You can use the experiences garnered to establish a tutorial centre (start with home lessons if you intends to go solo). 3. You can do home lessons while still in the job to improve your salary. 4. Keep saving from your little income to buy markers, (writing) board, text books, chairs/desks, etc for your journey into entrepreneurship. 5. Use the time you have while teaching to practice and learn other subjects (to equip you when you intend going solo). If you are a Science student, learn subjects on the Art and Social Sciences). 6. You can do on-line classes if you have the wherewithal, e.g. laptop, desk top, etc. In a nutshell, my advice to the OP is to take the job, work for a few months and start a turial centre. You will not lack money in a long time. CHEERS!

It takes less than a year for a serious person to get a digital skill and be good at it. Get a digital skill, get an internship, get a junior level job and grow from there.

I know it's not easy but this would give him a better future than hustling for money in a profession where he's got ZERO chance of making it.
list examples of digital skills for him, so he will pick

I agree with you on this.I mean why should someone of 30 years of age accept a job of 20k.
20k wey guy man dey use buy drinks for club.
I would rather remain jobless than to work as a slave for 20k

Remaining jobless is not a best option, if he don't have any other options/help to venture into a better thing, he should take it and start learning a part-time skills after school hours like tailoring, haircut, digital skills, etc. Once he is perfect in any of them he can leave the job and start his own

Business Analysis
UI/UX
Front End Development
Product Management
Power Platform Developer

One can learn any of these and get an internship within 6 months. All you need is dedication, plenty internet connection, laptop and some serious engagement on LinkedIn and Twitter. These are also well sorted jobs outside Nigeria with huge remote opportunities. Just forget about your age and think about what becomes of you in another ten years time.
