Simply put. I am not arguing for Jorginhos abilities but that Man Ud incident is just a random error that happens to most footballers.

I think it's better for the last man to maybe not give away the ball under pressure. In my mind, he had options,

1. Nod the ball instead of control with feet.
2. If you must use leg, pass back to that keeper.

Failing that, at least run back instead if standing there. And if you can't do that, fall on your sword and at least prevent the goal on the moment. A red card at 55 mins with the scoreline at 0-0 is not an automatic loss.

I am sure there are many players that are being managed by Tuchel in the team till someone better comes along. Almost every coach also manage players in some positions unless you can assemble an all star team
