My dad had bought me a laptop in 2017, when I was still in secondary school, but it started having issues about a year later and my dad spent a lot of money (about 50k) for repairs alone. He then gave up on the laptop and decided he would get me a new one soon. But it's been two years plus, and he is yet to give me a new one, because of some projects he has at hand.

Before the laptop started having issues, I had mastered everything, from typing fluently to operating the basic softwares such as Ms word, excel, PowerPoint, etc. After I completed my high school education, I started working in the church media unit, and in no time, I was the most preferred media personnel when it comes to scripture projecting, prayer points typing and more.

On July 17th this year, a man favoured me and gave me 160k to get myself a laptop. Since there are only mid-tier laptops at that price range, I decided that I'll keep the money, till when I raise about 200k extra to get a good laptop for 250k, capable of 3d animation which I desire to learn, and to also get myself a secondary monitor, mobile hotspot and a camera to start a YouTube Channel.

I've kept the money for about six months now. It's still intact because it's with my mom. But since it'll take time to save to that amount in order to add and buy the laptop, I have decided to invest the money in any business that will make me at least a 500k under six months. Is there any business that I can venture into?

I would really prefer online businesses that can be done with a mobile phone because of my health issues. But any business idea would still be appreciated!

1 year is a great start.... as long as you are good.

Udemy.com has some courses and there is Youtube.com too. 6 months enough if you master it within that timeframe and 1 year is a superb timeframe too.

Don’t send any email to anyone, take the advice that suits your current lane and discard others, you are on the best lane so far, don’t allow anyone cow you into programming or web development, having a background in graphics design and moving on to 3D animation is a great idea.

My advice, the laptop you will be needing for 3D animation costs between 500 to 900k naira, that’s mostly helian ware or whatever it’s called with graphics card, but other low budget ones can still do it sha but would be very slow.

Whatever you do, if you can’t buy a good helium ware laptop, any laptop you want to buy for less than 400k naira, make sure it’s apple,

Reason, it has second hand value, has better durability.

Also, you idea to start a YouTube channel is commendable, I know a 3D designer who creates scenes with 3D animation on YouTube with his channel and he gets hundreds of thousands of views.


Summary; be focused man, you are on the right track, don’t take any advice aside from this things you listed, the metavers is coming and 3D animation and design is a billion dollar industry, programming is already crowded, except for web3.

That’s not true, Apple laptop is good for design, I design, my friend uses Apple for video editing, until you try any Apple product, you won’t know it’s capabilities.

If you can save up to buy a decent laser jet printer (and if you have a personal laptop - no matter the specs) - you can approach other small private schools with good numbers and offer them a discount (that's what i did) at least before you talk to 5, 2 of them will accept if you show them samples (esp. If you can put those drawings and do the quantitative line thingys).

Since you teach, you can offer some students weekend classes (talk to your proprietor first sha)

Now... Start working on yourself too... With the way the economy is going, it is almost suicidal to stay at one salary scale for too long without multiple side hustle.

For example, I do quite a lot more than typing
