Lol... China needs this grandstanding at this phase of their development. They need to show the world how far they've gone. America needed it at a point too. But now, the US has long gone beyond this phase. Ask any of your friends in Chinese higher institutions, they'd confirm most of the senior professors are from the UK/US. They pay these guys ridiculous salaries to 'syphon' knowledge from the West to the Middle East. The truth is, it's really working for them. China has the financial resources and they sure know how to convert those to virtually anything they need including knowledge, power, etc.

But to be honest, I don't think China is ready for the world power position just yet. Asides the fact that thier leadership style might not sit well with that position, China has a very closed culture. Unlike the US, Canada, UK, etc, you immediately standout the moment you land in China. I'm not just talking about looks. I'm talking about your inability to fit in as a person. You're likely going to have a hard time seeing your country's restaurant or your church or some tv series you were previously enjoying or some websites you initially had access to, etc. You can't become a citizen if you're not related to a citizen. The West welcomes you, encourages you to come with thier culture and then they assimilate it and make it thier own. There's fragment of everyone's culture in the US and that puts them in an "omniscient position". It has its disadvantages, but that's the sacrifice standing between China and thier goal.

Again, thier leadership style might be working against them. Everyone likes freedom. Even Nigerians that frown against equality when it doesn't favour them still run these countries that protect people's rights/freedom.

My bad... Ofcourse, I'm not an authority. But I am of a very high opinion that any country that will achieve "world super-power status" must embrace and manage diversity. America is a major cosmopolitan. My friends in China, on PhD, usually tell the horrors they go through from Chinese. None wish to stay there afterward. And in the science circle, I fear Japanese than Chinese. This is based on the quality of research churned out. We could see through most of the China research farcades.

Till date, America still attracts best brains, even from China and the rest of the world. Nigeria inclusive! You see some Nigerian guys here and you will be blown at the quality of their capability.

A "funny" guy quoted me up there and spew alot of nonsense. I'm sure he hasn't seen marvelous stuffs a highly diverse team of intelligentsia can do. You will never compare them with intelligentsia from a less diverse stock. Even China understands this, and they are enticing Science PhDs with Government scholarships. However, their innate personalty and culture is the first BARRIER they have.

I'm cool with the discourse. Except for that "funny" guy up there, sounds matured so far

You realky ass-licked the Americans there dude I was just laughing. When it comes to weaponry, America is not all powerful like they'll want you to believe. China, Japan and Russia are very much up there too.

Let's just hope they never get to use all these weapons in warfare cos that could just be the end of civilization as we know it.

Coz America is a cosmopolitan. They harvest brains from every parts of the world. Any country that will measure up to America must follow suit. Canada is trying to, China will never get there. Unfortunately, the last era in America really pulled them behind. I look at my Team here and can count less than 30% Americans in the team. Most of us are foreigners and that is how most Labs here are. America banks on best of the best from every part of the world

actually, i dont want to insult you by pointing out that there are 150 million undesirable races (indian, african, latino, east european, southest asian ) in USA.

cheesy Nigeria is turning into a warzone which means that the day is coming when conceal won't even be necessary. The Desert Eagle is nearly eleven inches long, just over six inches high, and weighs four and a half pounds unloaded—more than twice as much as a loaded Glock 17 and about 5 inches longer than a Glock 35 which is the only Glock I know that uses .40 caliber.

Don't get me wrong, I love Glocks too. But the Desert Eagle is perfection.

The Chinese are on par with the US technologically, ahead economically and catching up military wise. The fascinating part is they achieved it with home grown talents.
