I wasn't wrong when I refered you all as circus freaks.
I minored philosophy in my freshman year.
Anaximader claimed the earth was cylindrical.
Anaximenes believed the earth was flat (that was the earliest claim)
At your 3000Bc the proto Greeks haven't even arrived.
The world was still influenced by the Babylonian myth and they were the ones who propounded the earth was flat.
Now get out of here.
The brains of all of you put together is no match for mine, and like I said to you earlier, I can't even recall the last time I picked a book because money is on my mind and that all the knowledge I gathered even at age 10 far outdoes any you'll get at age 50.
When did the thread move from Bonny and Alagoa's Fraud to Pythagoras, Sokrates and Aristotle?

Lol Ekealterego, these Jo men are trying to divert attention. They know that they have no backing, proof or anything. Even their ongoing Cultural Genocide on the People of Bonny is enough for decisions to be made.

My point exactly. You have checkmated their King Alagoa, why argue trivialities with pawns like Alabo, Jane456 and the rest. Its game over already as far as this discussion is concerned. Everything else they are doing are diversionary tactics and attempts to clutch at straws. Flogging a dead horse.

not a hasty generalization, I mean it's very clear to see.
you've been going back and forth with whomever is pointing out TO YOU AND YOUR CIRCUS what Chronicles are all about, I am not one to generalize hastily because it's page 3-4 and you've been championing your washed thoughts on Alagoa who doesn't even know a group of abakiliki community boys exist.
no one from your ancestry, not even your father can stand before him. I suggest you use a Merriam-Webster.
how we got to writing or publishing scientific paper; I have no idea but all I'll say is nigga stick to the point, the point is ALAGOA AND; CHRONICLES OF BONNY before you began mentioning scientific writes ups and all just to seem woke, LMAO.
speaking as though you've published a scientific paper.
sorry what scientific journal are you a reviewer in?
what branch of science do you review in?
who knows you?
don't come here trying to come and impress your circus.
I'm not your average nairalander who shares likes on some fancy words, live that to nylon personalities who are easily carried by the wind.
the best you are if you were ever able to own an account in Jstor(which any can have or access with the library or website of their university)
the best you are is just an UNINVITED and unknown brandisher of comment. I know you all, nairaland is your home and abroad. now swerve.

"you've been going back and forth with whomever is pointing out TO YOU AND YOUR CIRCUS what Chronicles..." another wrong conclusion. I am not even actively involved in the conversation. I never said anywhere if Alagoa writing was right or wrong. I was only pointing out the error in your argument. You see yourself.

"I known you all, nairaland is your home and abroad" Another generalisations of people on a faceless forum. Or are you projecting on others? grin

Baba joke aside, I am sorry that you are hurting but I can't reason you out of a situation you didnt reason yourself into.

This is my last response to you (the reason is in the image below) , you can go ahead and do what you do best on NL, mudslingling.

That stupid nature is called weakness.
No pride in it. It is the same nature that made Kurds, despite their huge population of over 30 million not to have a single country in Middle East.

We need to change.
The best way to fight fire is by opening Hell Fire.

You can trace all these weaknesses to the civil war and the effects that it had on Igbos afterwards.

It was a war that we never planned and the envious minorities around us were for the first time given power over us.

If it was just about the Chronicles of Grand Bonny, how then was Ijaw being mentioned in a book about Grand Bonny? Why did he COMPLETELY SUBMERGE Mr. Fombo's manuscript.

Before I carry on, I believe it will be a good idea for core Igbos to get hold of Mr. Fombo's manuscript. There are points in it that Alagoa wished submerged.

For a scholarly work by Alagoa to earn this line, backed by University College of Swansea WHAT IS WORSE IS THAT THE NEW TEXT IS NEITHER VERY SCHOLARLY NOR VERY INTERESTING. This totally calls into question, Alagoa's scholarly pedigree.

How did the chronicling of Grand Bonny, all of a sudden turn into a land-grabbing effort, to the extent that the core manuscript which is the main source of information on Grand Bonny was COMPLETELY IGNORED?
But rather, Alagoa chose to use secondary sources, with the full intention of elevating details in those secondary sources, to completely achieve the obscuring and submerging on the principal source of information for Grand Bonny.

Alagoa and University of Ibadan cannot wriggle their way out of this major scholarly volte face.
Alagoa and Fombo planned the game together don't be deceived.

Now, you are going off rails, please don't deviate from the topic.

Meanwhile, you could act ignorant or try to water down the gravity of Alagoa deception and schemes in trying to steal an Igbo city's history and fame.

On that review it clearly stated " there is virtually no attempt at interpretation at all , just a sequence of kings and events" , and I hope you understand the message the reviewer is trying to convey, here. But , in case you have one of those ogogoro diseases, the reviewer is basically saying that Alagoa's texts , which you guys are basing your Bonny land grabbing incursions on has no requisite details to validate his hypothesis.
Wasn't deviating, Ekealterego was trying to gather the rest of the CIRCUS because he thought I didn't know what I was talking about.
I bet he'll be thanking you in telegram for drawing us out his blunder while trying to shame me but shaming himself.

Sequence of kings and events eh?
But the others claim the reviewer was hitting on Alagoa copying from Fombo. Na wa o, why don't you want to complete the entire isi'okwu ehn idenna?
Ide papa ya ogini?
The others are angry his works mirror Fombo and one of your circus member claims "igbos need to get their hands on Fombo's work" lol
Let me help you with a screenshot if you were expecting more other than "kings and events" of which events is the main notion behind Chronicles.
Besides my time here is done for today, goodbye.

The Nigerian education is very terrible.

You didn't see where they said he didnt reference his works? No.1 sin after plagiarism or at par.

You didn't see where they mentioned that he bastardized the original manuscript?

You didn't read the other academic frauds that was noted?

He was accused of rewriting an original work and changing the content replacing key subjects by himself.

Nigerian education is really terrible I swear.... so, you don't know the implications of republishing a short notice in an academic journal? Wow.
All your fabrications only exist in your head. You throwing up a 3 page charge sheet against Alagoa over a review that is as easy to understand as much as possible. cheesy

He wasn't accused of plagiarism, neither was he accused of academic fraud, bastardizing an original manuscript nor rewriting any content. Why are you all lying over something that is written in a very simple terms?

The reviewer's only dissatisfaction was that Alagoa used too much of Fombo's work as his while using less of other references, materials from other sources. In his words "Mr. Fombo's manuscript has been completely submerged by Dr. Alagoa's new text"
I want to assume that Alagoa realizes this fact which was why he acknowledges Prof. Fambo as co- author- A Chronicle of Grand Bonny By EJ Alagoa and A.Fombo . So, what gives you the rights to accuse him of plagiarism when he had already acknowledged the original owner of his works as co-writer. Perhaps, Fambo must have given him the permission.

Like i said, your fabrications only exists in your head. As we speak, Cambridge University is still publishing it and making it available for download. Much Ado over Nothing.

Here you are yet again, with your 419 ways.

When did I ever advise anybody to get Fombo's work? I asked my fellow core Igbos to get Fombo's manuscript, which was obviously originally secured by one Prof. Anene, and possibly still lies somewhere in the University of Ibadan area.

There's a reason Alagoa avoided that manuscript.

God forbid that I will ask my fellow Igbos to get Fombo's work, which must be another stuff for the fiction section.

I know that since I knocked you silly with Baikie's writings which showed that Bonny people claimed Igbo descent, your sanity has been well screwed.
Now, Alagoa you god is being seriously scholarly sodomised by his peers. This must be very difficult for you.

I bet there is another word for the act of intentionally altering the original contents of a manuscript handed to him. In an attempt to suit his primordial interest, he doctored it so much it became unrecognizable, that reviewers had to demand for the original manuscript.
Is the reputation of Cambridge University in question?

Accordingly to the reviewer " As the title suggests, it is a chronicle, and a bare one"

The reviewer in question had a more expectation of the book. He expected references for the photographs and footnotes, which was not provided in the book. Fombo had the original documents but Alagoa copied way too much from it. "In the meantime, Ibadan University press could consider giving us Mr.Fombo's original text.

Brother, this is not just a review, it was a special notice academically sponsored, Cambridge published and University of Swansea backed rejection of a fraud.

The book was about Bonny, which at that time became a tool for propaganda rather than true academic work.

Going through its one by one

1. University of Swansea and Cambridge University thought this was a roadside and hungry beer parlour historians that wrote the history about Bonny.

This is a very disappointing little book. On picking it up I thought that
Ibadan University Press had taken the enterprising step of publishing a history
of one of the most important Niger delta towns, written by a local historian who
had not been trained at a University.

2. Here, it states that Algoa falsified the original manuscript and history with his own fantasies.

I hoped and assumed that Dr Alagoa's
contribution would be restricted to scholarly annotation, and perhaps a separate
comment. But instead, Mr Fombo's manuscript, originally acquired by Professor
Anene in I963 and now in the Africana Collection of the University of Ibadan,
has been completely submerged by Dr Alagoa's new text.

3. Alagoa being a fraud again rewriting history and replacing academic history with his own falsification. A serious academic crime
What is worse is that
the new text is neither very scholarly nor very interesting. As the title suggests,
it is a chronicle, and a bare one. There is virtually no attempt at interpretation
at all, just a sequence of kings and events.

4. Alagoa failed to use references (Biggest academic sin) and decided not to use original history

The references which are made are mostly to secondary sources, and almost completely ignore the main source for
the Niger coast, F.O. 84 (Slave Trade).
There are no references given for the photographs, a characteristic regrettably common in Nigerian histories. Thus
this book does little but reveal the need for a proper history of Bonny, a worth-while project for which there is abundant material. In it, this chronicle will deserve a footnote. In the meantime, Ibadan University Press could consider giving us Mr Fombo's original text. Then perhaps they could follow it up with the work of other local historians such as E. N. Amaku of Calabar.

5. In case you don't understand, Alagoa was fraudulently replacing some key people, names and ethnicity with his own. That is what they meant by "bowdlerize".

But let us have the original script intact, before the scholars bowdlerize it out of recognition.

In summary, Bonny's history was fraudulently rewritten by Alagoa. What a shame! They called him a roadside historian while committing academic sin.

At this point, we already have enough facts and evidences to take up ijaw landgrabbing goons, including their chief instigator, Alagoa.

Guy stop feigning ignorance or talking dumb. I thought you said you read a lot?

This is academic work.. An academic peer review. Alagoa passed his work as an academic writing/work, thus the heavy criticism by international academic heavy weights.

If he took his book to the jokes or fiction section, no one will raise an eyelid.

Look at how he was disgraced. He was termed as roadside historian.

What he did was fraudulent and a big sin in the academic world, and especially in that field.

Cambridge, JSTOR and Swansea moved the book to fiction section where the book rightly belongs.

See this liar cheesy

What business has JSTOR have got to do with this?
Your trash are just new every passing day.

Read, boy. Don't allow your parents money goes to waste. Stop talking like an mkpurummiri addict.
If you don't understand something, ask questions. Stop following the herd mentality. You can read but too slow to understanding. dis wan just dey follow the bandwagon.

Lying scum, Cambridge University has his book still selling on its website. And the man was not speaking for University of Swansea, he was a just a member of staff speaking out his observations in his personal opinion

The rest of your trash, I have earlier addressed it.

Funny, Ijaws are now using, "lying scum". very original.

Now, you lying scum how did Cambridge University Press sell what Ibadan University Press published?

Why are you people very duuummb?

What is available on Cambridge University Press is the special notice since they rejected the publication on "African Journal of History".

Son, this is not your area of expertise, choose some other ventures.

How will Cambridge sell what the rejected by issuing a special notice? Do you guys know how this works at all?
