Video: Lagos diploma holder filmed jumping into lagoon

A 21-year-old diploma holder identified Odunare Olalekan, was filmed on Tuesday December 14 jumping into a lagoon in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, in an attempt to commit suicide.

The victim, whose body is yet to be recovered, jumped into the lagoon in Epe area around 10am on Tuesday.

Olalekan who is a holder of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) certificate and a worker at Alaro City, a sprawling mega estate along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, was seen in videos shared online sitting on the rails of a bridge before plunging into the waters.

A man filming the scene was heard querying his intention, but Olalekan who looked distressed never responded.

It was also learnt that the man who is presumed dead, left behind a one-year-old baby for his 19-year-old girlfriend.

Let's stop and think

SAD he jumped into the lagoon and ended his life.

He is someone's brother,he did not fell from heaven.

Let's always check on our love ones and families...let's check on our brothers and sisters...e ma je ka joye adaranita madaranile.

Some of us has money to throw around social media but to help our families ...na wahala...you neglect your brothers and sisters, you luck up thinking God has answered your prayers.... Meanwhile,on this earth we've seen kings becoming slaves and slave become king.

Even to pick call for some people is a problem, just because they think the person wants to beg for money. Count yourself lucky that people even ask you for money...if u don't get money...won ran iya e...nobody go look your side.

Little assistance goes a long way, stop turning your back at people ..especially your families. If things go bad for you...friends will run away but families will always be family

Outside people will be posting you ...thanking you while your own families haven't eaten for days.

Let's change our mindset towards our families,let's help if we are in a position to help,let's check on them, when they call...let pick it and listen to them. ..a time is coming that they won't disturb you again ..by then they are okay on their own.

Maybe from there there can be change for the Nigger Area to be something better for Blacks

Doing the right thing at the wrong time will always be counterproductive. It would have been better to save him than to chronicle his suicide.

The guy recording this, is one of the reasons we have failed as human beings. You see Someone climbing the ledge to end his life and the best you can do is get your phone out and take a video then start asking like an agbero "kiloshe e?" Can't you even speak nicer and tell him it'll be okay?! Can't you tell him that jumping won't solve it and find a way to convince him that if he rethinks it'll work out for him? Smh
