So it was less than N200 to a dollar 10 years ago?

10 years ago, 152 naira to a dollar.

% increase 413

So 1600 naira to a dollar in 10 years time which translates to 200% is a fair projections provided the country
i. remains import dependent nation.
ii reduction in exportation
iii. Dwindling confidence in local currency.
iv. rise in insecurity.
and others

An average fixed income fund gave over 14% in the last 10 years.

Compounding the N152 should be about N563.

As a matter some FG bond paid coupons at over 16%, those who bought more when bonds were selling at a discount actually got yield of 18% and above.

Instead of just buying dollars, invest in a Eurobond Fund for diversification to take care of your forex expenses

Is it a split of 1 for 3 like cutix or consolidation of 3 for 1 like mansard?

Its NOT a split, but a REVERSE stock split...
which is practically the same thing as a share consolidation or reconstruction exercise.
The word "reverse" there connotes "opposite"
The case of Cutix was a split exercise which is more like a bonus. (think it was a 1 for 1... not 1 for 3)
But that of WEMA would be a Reverse split... same thing as the recent exercise by MANSARD INS.

The bank (WEMA) intends to propose to it's shareholders at a court-orderd meeting a reconstruction ratio of 1 new share for every 3 shares previously held as at December 31, 2021.
By inference, an investors initially held vol/unit will be divided by 3 (post qualification date)
while simultaneously multiplying their share price by same discount ratio... leaving their effective value unchanged.

Hopes its clear now.
Regards

Yes it's all clear now thanks! oh and yes cutix was 1 for 1 was just using it as a split example.

I guess if one would remember what happened after mansard reconstruction waiting to see how this pans out after reconstruction may be better for the faint hearted grin

IS IT WISE TO FOLLOW OTEDOLA TO BUY INTO FBNH ?
From the chat, Otedola has been accumulating FBNH since September/October and not now when they make it public. Invariably, he bought the shares 8 - 9 naira. With this, smart monies have pushed the price to break above the trendline which is positive. But is it wise to buy FBNH now? A good approach is to await for a pullback before joining the smart monies...
