Jayeolaifeoluwa: Abuja takes 1 week and costs about 25k if your if your bio was done in Lagos. Lagos takes 2 weeks or slightly more but it costs 4k or so if your bio was done in Lagos. Went with Abuja to save the headache of having to wait for an extra week or more. The choice is yours. |

baddestguy: Every application differs. The people I applied for did theirs over 5 years ago. They have travel experience to Canada and beyond so the issue of waiting period is peculiar to an application. |

How many people who applied in September and October are still waiting? Is there really a difference in the turn around time between gckey and new portal. My wife applied for visitor visa in October to join me in Canada. The gckey was used then. Now, I am thinking if i should reapply using the new portal or wait. Any thought/ advice?? |

Jayeolaifeoluwa: Do Abuja jejely o. It’ll cost slightly more if you did your biometrics elsewhere but it’s worth the peace of mind. Sent passport to Lagos Dec 3, profile was updated as approved on Dec 13 and passport is still not back. Lagos VFS sucks 1 Like |

baddestguy: I think it depends on your application, every application is unique. The new portal processing timeline is fast especially if you are reuniting with your immediate family. The one I applied for is 12working days for my mom. NB: older people get a lot of approval. 1 Like |

RuggedArab: I agree with you cos I have also observed this too. Older people's gets approved faster than other categories, irrespective of method of application (gckey or new portal). |

Hello my people. Please do we have anyone here who intend to travel to canada in February 2022. My mum will be travelling for the first time, she is quite old and i would need help from anyone who is coming over so that she can tag along and probably get some help. It would have been a smooth journey if all these covid 19 travel protocols are not in place. I am here in Calgary. Thanks my people. |

There are so many people who applied in October that their application is still pending, in fact, we have a whatsapp group that 100s of us are always complaining everyday. Seems they ignored October application and move to November/December application. Just tired. holyjacket: |

Congratulations to all recent PPR recipients. Let's hope it rains more PPR this week. We should expect more flexibility and considerations, with how CIC processes these various applications considering the recent letter the PM wrote to the immigration letter. Some nice goodies upcoming. Let's hope the inks are backed with actions! You can read the letter here: https://pm.gc.ca/en/mandate-letters/2021/12/16/minister-immigration-refugees-and-citizenship-mandate-letter |

aloskyyoung: Weird. Since your application has passed the 30 working days processing time, have you or the other folks tried sending them a webform? They did say they'll respond to webforms if an application is passed the slated processing time. That may help to know what's going on. While each application is unique and handle time varies, it's concerning and worth knowing why there are delays in October applications like you mentioned. (Except all these applications belong to the class of deprioritized applications at this time). Worth finding out. |
