"Recruiting young engineers across the nation" you say? Is Bauchi and Kano " the nation" or is it "across the North"? You lay hundred of kilometers of pipes to load crude oil from the East to your CBN funded refinery in Lagos. You won't go to Bauchi to lay pipelines for crude, neither will you go to Kano... But when it comes to job opportunities in this sector, you first focus on those you consider as "your people"!

This is the kind of One Nigeria they desperately want. You have all the jobs at the Ministry of Petroleum. All the jobs at NNPC and PPMC. All the jobs in the Customs and Army and Police and all that.... Now this... What are Eastern youths from where this resources are being exploited supposed to do? Go to Malaysia and Cambodia to hussle. Abi? While you and your brothers from the desert inherit the earth?
It won't work like that na..

Just imagine
A refinery that is domiciled in the South will have Engineers from North working on it. No Catchment Quota for even host community. This is the type of Nigeria some people are ready to die for.

I'm sure he will employ students from the South too as time goes.

But do not forget dangote refinery is a private owned company. And the oil is from the South South Geopolitical Region.

GEJ should have done something about how more Northerners were getting employed into the NNPC, but the weakening did nothing about it.

He was busy looting.

1. He's not only recruiting from all over the country, he sent 900 Nigerian young engineers abroad to learn refinery operations and management, one of them is the young man in the picture below, he sounds igbo, definitely not a Northerner..

2. The majority of the hundreds of thousands of the workers, including the 40 thousands already working at the complex, are from the South.

3. The CBN did not fund the project.

Stop spreading misinformation just because you misinformed yourself.

50 young Nigerian engineers were also sent to India, this team actually were sent to India to design, help build and operate the refinery.

Just listen to the young engineers and the excitement on their faces..

They all sound mostly southern.

1) The federal government played a huge role in this project from the Jonathan era to this day. The CNB was ordered to funnel large amount of cash into this project as incentives since it was seen as a national asset that needs to be protected. To that extent, it's expected that a reasonable amount of national interest should be satisfied in such areas as job recruitment, product distribution and siting of secondary plants..

2) There is nothing like The South". What we have at independence was The West and The East. It's you and Tinubu that invented The South as a political terminology to hyjack all that should accrue to both the East and west just for South Western Nigeria.

3) The biggest oil deposits inland in the socalled South South comes from Igbo communities like Obigbo and co. Don't know whether you have been properly educated on this. So your "South South" outburst does not hold water here. It's the oil from the East. So it's only natural that the greater percentage of job opportunities should go to the owners of the resource. Otherwise, Dangote should use Lagos and Bauchi oil to run his "private" refinery.

There is no ibo community in Rivers State.

When ibos from the South East tried to cause wahala in Obigbo, we can still remember how am ikwerre man fully dealt with them.

Go to Dangote refinery yourself and see who majority of the workers there are.

Obigbo is in Rivers State, Rivers State is in the South South.

We have the largest single refinery in the world, the largest fertilizer plant in the world, the largest petrochemical plant all right here in the south with nearly all the hundreds of thousand s of workers from skilled to unskilled labor right here from the south and you boldly lied to yourself that we don't have anything in the south?

Are you alright at all?

I don't know why you people allow yourselves to be closed-minded and ignorant all because of hatred, bitterness and petty tribalism.

So basically what you're trying to say is that the south-south doesn't exist?

All these biafra people sef. You need to be enlightened, firstly your statement that the biggest inland oil deposits in the south-south comes from ibo communities is absurd. For your information about 55% of Nigeria's inland deposits are found in Delta ( Urhobo, isoko, Ijaw and itsekiri communities respectively) and akwa ibom state SOUTH-SOUTH NIGERIA! Ethnically Igbo oil producing areas constitute less than 15% of the total inland oil producing capacity of Nigeria's oilfields, so please Mr biafra man be guided.

Yes! It's now One South because everything is sited in the West. It's the same thing I was saying. It's this mentality that created a situation where a business man from Warri, Port Harcourt and Uyo has to go to Lagos to clear his imported goods or to fly out of the country. Can you as a Yoruba man tolorate that? Can you accept to close Lagos ports just so that the ports at Port Harcourt and Calabar can function very well for Southern Nigeria?

Can you accept to travel down to Uyo or Enugu just to fly out of the country as people of The South East and The South South have been doing since 1970? The south does not begin and end in Lagos. We need to see a more active Calabar, Uyo, Warri etc. And the only way this will be possible is to decentralize investment opportunities across board. Not by hyjacking every opportunity for Lagos in the name of an utopian "One Southern Nigeria"..

Most oil from Akwa Ibom are offshore! Get educated! And most inland oil are from the Igbo communities of Rivers, Imo, Abia and Delta State!
Biggest gas reserves in Africa are located between Imo State and Abia state. That's why the government is sponsoring a fake insurgency in the Izombe areas of Imo State in order to depopulate the areas of their human quantity, for maximum economic exploitation. . But ofcourse, that won't fly..

Read the letter and you will see how he made his intentions clear. This unnecessary bigotry and spread of hate is needless. This is just the start and the operation hasn't yet taken off yet.
Dangote's wealth and her source are well known beyong ur bigotry, he refused to enter oil sector earlier because of ppl like u who will smear his name. Ask Yorubas, they're the major beneficiaries of his wealth in terms of jobs and economy. Most of his foremost trustees are Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba because they make themselves worth the trust. Keep going peddling the drugs to Malaysia and Cambodian and see if u can be employable for such jobs.
Tolerate others and make ur environment peaceful fornon-indigines business to thrive and u will see Dangote there. Now BUA is making his refinery at Akwa Ibom, this Eastern oil u keep repeating is nonsensical and misleading.
Oil pipeline to the North is a long term plan to channel oil from Delta to Europe but it will go through Northern Nigeria, Niger Republic, Sahara, Algeria, and go to Europe, this is business and the AKK pipeline is funded by PPP mostly private companies.
Business know no tribe or religion.
