Lagosians should be on the lookout for this Dangote refinery not to pollute Lagos waters and the environment like we are seeing in SS states like Rivers.. he is going to pack ab0kis now from North to work in his refinery in Lagos but Lagosians will be the ones suffering when effluents and waste streams from the refinery are not properly managed. The mumu Yoruba folks will continue looking as usual while they keep robbing peter to pay paul.. very docile race. 1 Like |

Dangote will be weary of investing in the East because of constant burning of his trucks and drivers simply because he's a northerner. 3 Likes 1 Share |

lexy2014: Did you read the article? If you did, you should know its an initiative in motion. But nevertheless, he is not mandated to recruit across the nation by any law. If he has chosen Bauchi and Kano, he personally knows why and owes nobody an explanations. As a matter of fact, he fly in experts if he deems fit. He is a businessman and stop having sense of entitlement. He is doing it first in Nigeria, so applaud him. If all the self acclaimed billionaires in Anambra replicated this gesture, nobody from there will be jumping bus to the west on daily basis 1 Like 1 Share |

AnanseK: Abeg help me tell the EASTERNER ooo How many states in the so called EAST have oil? But they have told them on radio Biafra that all the resources in Nigeria are in Igbo land. And sadly, even educated folks tend to swallow that nonsense from badly enlightened tribal jigoists. 5 Likes |

ArewaNorth:The funny thing is that Igbos are actually well represented in the Dangote Group The company secretary (which is one of the highest possible posts in a publicly listed corporate) is /was an igbo person Some of his biggest distributors are igbo Its only low level folks that dwell on tribal sentiments The upper echelon are bothered with collaborations and making money 3 Likes |

Rugaria: Hehehe....I find your submission funny. The reason he is doing this is because of his affiliation somewhat with the schools. If he has affiliation with other schools in the South, I am very sure kind gestures like this would be extended to such institutions. And between this business is private not a Governmet institution, he may decide who and where to hire from, it is within scope! 1 Like |

He knows what he is doing. Southerners should go and build their own from scratch and leave the alleged quota dullards to be operators in Dangote's ready made system. |

RodgersAkpafu: Illegal oil refining by locals and the numerous oil spills from exploration and production activities by NOCs and IOCs are responsible for the pollution in the Niger Delta. In saner climes, those companies would be fined heavily and asked to cleanup their mess but in Nigeria, everything is politics and brown envelope for corrupt govt. official and the whole thing will be swept under the carpet. |
Re: Dangote Oil Refinery Absorbs 3 Consecutive Set Of ATBU Engineering Graduates by wirinet(m): 9:25pm On Dec 21, 2021 |
Alaigbopress:It's a private refinery. Dangote can hire only his relations if he so wishes. National character does not apply to private companies. Catchment areas applies also only to public corporations and companies. Host communities negotiate conditions with private companies before the commencement of the project. If host communities see employment of their people as paramount, they would have demanded a percentage of jobs from the beginning, but we know how host communities operate in Nigeria. They prefer to collect cash and share now now instead of long term benefits 4 Likes |

flokii: Not everyone sees life from the stained view point of tribe. The Yoruba race are arguably the most enlightened and civilized in Nigeria as far as education and sense is concerned. They are not a ruderless tribe led by the lowest criminal elements in their society. They are strategic and deliberate. If you leave me, the Yoruba nation has a higher chance of successfully seceding from Nigeria. And they are self sustaining with all the structures and infrastructure. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

In 10years from now, I hope you'd be able to say this rubbish when Dangote turns to a menace in South West. By right, graduates of Lagos varsities and the indigenes should have more stake in the project than graduates from far away Bauch and Kano. Hausa man dey play Hausa sense with you, you're here talking trash. Go to NNPC and see what they are doing, you'd marvel. 1 Like 1 Share |

Okwyjesus:The inverse of the question is also valid. Does FUTO and FUTA have better Engineers than ATBU? Is engineering now an exclusive entitlement of the Igbo tribe? Is engineering even tribal now? How many people from any other part of Nigeria did Innoson for example, recruit in his company. Is Nigerian government not the biggest client of Innoson motors? Why did the so called Easterners not protest for justice for other tribes. There is a reason a tribe becomes hated and detested. the reason is usually provided by the tribe itself. 6 Likes 1 Share |
