The SW has led themselves into political isolation.

The SS President was ousted in part due to the SW, the SE theoretically should have the greatest claim to the southern presidency, but the SW has made two enemies of the two southern regions. The North sees this. We know the south is too politically fragmented to pose any resistance to a united Northern front.

The SW will have to do some serious bridge re-building after 2023 clears the fog from their eyes. The Presidency will go to the NE, no Northerner will vote Jagaban over a Northerner, and no Northerner will vote a southern Pastor in the form of Osibanjo over a Northern Muslim.

The North is quietly waiting. 2023 is not far.

I tell us all it is finished with the south. When I will particularly vote anybody other than Yorubas in 2023. When that northerner spends 8 years, the same north will remind Yorubas how the others fail to vote them in 2023. This vicious circle will not end.

Bros it is easier for Buhari to get third term and winning in Imo State than South West getting the presidency. Quote me anywhere.
South West needs the other components of the south to win. You can't lose South South and South East and become the president when you are from the South.
Do the permutations. Someone from North East comes out against South West. The contender wins North East and South East and South. The person from South West win South West then share votes with the North East person in North West and North Central. No be game over is that?
Politician's in the East and South South know this. Even some Yorubas know this. The best is to support a South East person or support South South to complete their terms. The latter north prefers.
See that way you are reasoning naija politics.lobbying and promising top political actors across the south would do the job on presidential level but States and local may have different dimensions

This is actually a surprising twist from the SE, if this was the old SE they would be yelling up and down how the must have, and must be given, and it is their turn... But to our surprise, they are being strategic and pragmatic, they are politically maturing.

For them to make such a practical decision shows that they are finally beginning to understand that politics is about helping others while helping yourself through such an action.

I initially wanted a NC candidacy, since the NC has not tasted power since democracy, but has sacrificed more than any other region for the continuity and unity of Nigeria that it is a shame that the NC is constantly overlooked. that aside, the NE deserves the presidency and it won't be bad to have a SE as the VP.

The SE has had a recent image problem, but a competent VP may help bring them back into the mainstream of Federal politics, they just need to deal with the rising insecurity in its infancy stages before it grows uncontrollably.

My Abokey friend, the only the thing makes the North very relevant currently is greed of the yorubaman. The SE and SS are ready to vote an Eastern president but the the SW are hoping they can use anti-Eastern sentiments to smuggle themselves into presidency. That we will protest against by pulling the rug off their legs.

The whole of the south (yorubas inclusive) should be shouting for a south Eastern presidential candidate on both tickets to promote equity, but they think other southerners are f00ls.

Don't even know when south west will have sense.... U're banking on northern votes when a northerner may contest under PDP.

Can a yoruba man win someone like Atiku in the North?

What happened in Edo State will repeat itself... Buhari will play neutral game leaving both candidates to battle it.

They maybe hoping on buhari to gather the votes.

You people don't know politics, Buhari will not want his legacy to rubbished or allow PDP take credit for his heavy investment in infrastructure. He will do all within his power to get the APC candidate elected.

He also knows that in another 8 years the presidency goes back north

The issue is that the election is not between the SW and the SE, but between the SW and the NE, or potentially, but less likely the NC.

The North is not making noise because at the end of the day, the North holds the yam and the knife as the southerners say.
Shehu Sani tried to give Jagaban some insight as to what will befall him, a word is enough for the wise. If Tinubu really wanted to be in power he should sponsor a Northerner and use him as a proxy against the North, the same way the SE is sponsoring a Northerner in Atiku to take power, but the SW is acting as if the North will leave a Northerner and vote him... this is a key flaw in his reasoning.

Following speculations that Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, will be running for the presidency in 2023, Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has warned him against trusting northern politicians.

Sani warned that Northern politicians may sabotage Tinubu’s presidential ambition as they did to MKO Abiola.

The former lawmaker who spoke in Osogbo, Osun State capital, said Tinubu should learn from the story of Abiola, who the Northern elites conspired against.

He said: “Well, the person of Asiwaju is the one I know in the field of struggle. We worked together for MKO’s project and for the resistance against the annulment.

“I know him personally. But what I tweeted is more of a Biblical/Shakespearian allegory or whatever one can use in sending a message to someone and what I am trying to say is that as he is allegedly moving towards contesting for the presidency, he should try to know the actual feeling on the ground as far as the North is concerned because I know what Abiola went through.

“Abiola served the North more than any other businessman from the western part of Nigeria. He printed the Quran and shared it with many Muslims. But how did he end up? They (northerners) conspired against him and sabotaged him and at the end of the day, he was gone.”

The flaw in your thinking is that you completely discount history in arriving at your main reference point.

History shows the following southern politicians have defeated strong northern politician in presidential elections:
MKO Abiola
Olusegun Obasanjo
Goodluck Jonathan

How many se and SS people are so driven by alleged revenge that they will desire to allow northern region rule the country for 16 unbroken years? It will shock you to the marrow, those of you banking on hate and revenge as a political strategy

I've never dropped any message under the comments of any northerners here before buh you have to be the first and the reason is that you're educated and also got some reasonable mind.
I have to correct that your wrong impression of trying to pin Nigeria as a Muslim country or trying to say about Muslim been in majority, please don't say what you don't know.(psychological blackmail)
Another one is praising of shiek gumi, you shouldn't dive into that angle because it will make all these your analysis looks stupid.
Everything you said here apart from the aforementioned corrected ones are all truth buh it surprises me how people fails to understand all these or they know buh keep on deceiving themselves....I said before that Northerners will never allow Tinubu or even Osibanjo(Tinubu by proxy) to become president and if at all they prefer south west, they will rather pick nobody from Tinubu's camp because they're afraid of a powerful southerner and if Tinubu is very powerful as an ordinary citizen, how could he be when he becomes the president and northerners wouldn't want anybody to control them.
The truth is that Northerners knows that it's South Easterners time for the presidency buh they want to capitalise on South Westerner's selfishness and greediness to hang onto power in 2023 and the reason PDP still pipe low is because they're waiting if South West will concede the highest office to the South East and once the south west supports the south east for presidency, believe me,the PDP will zone their ticket to south east immediately buh if they(south west) refuses to do just that, then the PDP will present a northern candidate and it's gonna be win win for the north....
The earlier the south wakes up,the better for them or the north continues, which is likely to be so... Garcias!!!!

Hogwash, what stops the north from grabbing power via PDP once APC selects a SE candidate? You really think power is served alacarte or on basis of sentiment?

Everybody is talking about the prospect of tinubu or Osinbajo becoming the next president of Nigeria, both men are from south west.
What about south east, the most marginalized region in Nigeria, do you think northern Nigeria will support any candidate from south east considering the animosity between them?

Our fingers are crossed for now, I'm still waiting to see where PDP will zone their ticket to, as for APC we don't need a soothsayer to tell us at this point.
I tire oo what happens to south east candidate? I prefer igbo presidency

I don't do Nigeria politics and I don't give a dime where the power goes because it wouldn't change anything buh I just want to put my words down for some references because it will certainly happen.
When you want to respond to somethings or to jump on some comments, remove any negative mind and come with unbiased view,so that you can be able to understand and also contribute intelligently.
Don't you know anything that will make south west(APC)support south east for presidency, the southern unity is fix and nothing the northerner(PDP) can do rather than to cede their own ticket too to south east.
PDP contemplating in the first place to cede their ticket to the north is because of south west greediness and selfishness and once the south west prove them wrong by been supportive to a southeastern candidate(s),then their games(Northern PDP)will be subdued and they wouldn't have any choice left than to do the needful of southern presidency precisely from the south east....
What I tell you is from many unsentimental angles...my political views which never failed me for once, the inside source both from PDP and APC and also the recent unbiased calculation of political happenings in Nigeria now buh guess my second point sums it all...
NB: I responded to you because even though you ain't logically enough buh you never also came with basin of insults, just as many of them does here ... Gracias!!!!

Tinubu's real problem is that the religious dynamic is simply not in his favor.

Muslims from the south create a unique problem for themselves politically due to the fact that they either have to run with a Muslim-Muslim ticket to the chagrin of the Christian population in this nation. The Christian population is already in the minority according to the last census, which may or may not be accurate, but it is all we have to go by.

As such, most candidates have to balance the religious aspects of their candidacy, and a Muslim southerner has to run with a Christian Northerner, which of course is reduces the likelihood of success.

Osibnajo likewise has problems if PDP indeed runs a Northern Muslim, as a southern pastor, he is at a natural disadvantage in the North as a Muslim will garner more votes among Muslims. If the SW was wise they would back the SS by returning Goodluck, or throw their weight behind an Igbo man, which is impossible for them. Or they could simply forget this southern presidency scam and field a strong Northerner like El Rufai, but greed has blinded their eyes to political realities.

You are canvassing for power to remain in the north, yet accusing SW of greed. Are you an idiot? Who is greedy here.
