I am also very displeased by Ebuehi exclusion.

As for Akpoguma, he didn't impress , well . maybe he was played out of position. Nevertheless , I felt he deserve a spot as an experienced player.

You know what?

Whe Afcon start. Go watch ball for view centre, scream Akpeyi and complain why he is not starting the game, then come and tell us how e end.

Where did I complain akpeyi is not starting games ?

You are trying to mock him and I only defended him

Akpeyi started at last afcon you where complaining ,now he is 3rd choice and you are still complaining

If akpeyi is still living rent free on your head this 2021 then you have a problem .

The team list seems fair aside the inclusion of Ighalo and Musa who appear to have passed their primes.

It looks as if the Super Eagles is a now a rehabilitation center for some out of form players.

I would have preferred the inclusion of Alhassan and Amoo (mid fielders) to Musa and Ighalo (strikers).

As regards the exclusion of Dessers, Ebuehi, Bassey and Akpogona, I think they can be recalled back to the team for world cup qualifiers after the Nation's cup.

Super Eagles AFCON LIST

Is this the final list? Or will they drop some players after camp?

You can use Ebuehi club performance from the last 2 games which he did well

Argentina performance of how many years ago ? Then Bryan idowu should be on this team grin

Does not warrant a verbal attack. Ebuehi's performance in that game shows his potential. It is a fair point.

What do u mean by shambolically shameful?

Akpeyi is the worse goalkeeper to ever man the SE goalkeeping post. Too shaky and error prone for a keeper of his experience, age, and charisma.

So Chigozie Agbim was a better keeper?

If not for injury to Uzoho, Akepyi won't have been our starting GK at the AFCON.... It was also injury to Uzoho that gave Okoye his chance..
Akepyi is just like Simon...Good for his club, unreliable in the national team

Why didn't Rohr, a foreign coach give Dessers a chance?
Why are you people so trying to make this look like a "local coach hate foreign born players" thing... Why?

Quite the contrary, Rohr gave Dessers a chance(about 5 minutes or so) and he was rightly dropped after that, not due to a bad performance in that game but lack of game time in Genk. But he has picked up ever since and he deserves to be in the squad. If Rohr was still in charge, I would criticize his ass for dropping him. This guy could be a useful sub when we need goals in injury time.

Now to your second question, bro, we all know how this country works. We can choose to deny it all we want but the truth always stands. I never said local coaches hate foreign players but you can believe what you want. Later on you'll start hearing things like 'they're not strong enough for African football, they're too fragile, Na Oyinbo Dem be, they're too arrogant, they don't know how to respect their elders, who do they think they are?' and all sorts of nonsense. Let's not even talk about egunje here.

If Musa and Shehu have been forced on Rohr, just imagine how many would be forced on a local coach. I don talk my own.

Too early to say but this will probably be my starting XI against Egypt

Uzoho

Aina, Balogun, Awaziem, Zaidu

Ndidi, Aribo

Chukwueze, Iwobi, Ejuke

Dennis

If Osimhen is fully fit Dennis replaces Chukwueze and Victor goes on top.

Young, dynamic and offensive line up

Haaa. I forgot Agbim. He's the undisputed champion. Akpeyi follows.

But I pointed out with that tune because Akpeyi is way experienced and matured for the kind of blunder he makes.

Bassey deserves to be on that list.
Akpoguma deserves to be on that list.

Does this mean Awaziem would be our Right Back when we could have a Balogun/Awaziem and Akpoguma Centre Back partnership?

Hmmmmm

You still don't get it .

It is not about the distance in time, but the potential the player is made up of, which is still there. Ebuehi went down the pecking order because Rohr favoured Collins and Shehu...not because he is not good.

As for Brian Idowu, Rorh took him to the WC because he scored against Argentina, not because he showed glimpse of potentials. That goal he scored blinded Rohr.

we should have used his slot for Akpoguma and take only 4 midfielders in a squad of 28 to afcon right?

These guys crying and trying to paint Eguavoen black because he isn't a foreigner should remember that CAF rejected his offer to alter the already submitted list. The only player added there by Eguavoen is Kelechi Nwakali as a replacement for injured Paul Onuachu, besides that, every other person you see there was selected by Rohr.

The final list was drafted from Rohr's 37man list. Anybody can make the list from the 37man list

To me, the most reasonable addition to that list, is a natural CM - Nwakali.

I would want two or three scrimmages before the actual tournament, with Ndidi, Nwakali and Aribo as the midfield three in the fashion below;

..............................Osimhen.................................
.............Dennis..................................SamChuks.....

.....................................Aribo.................................

.......................Ndidi....................Nwakali................

Soon to be 25year old Ejaria hasn't done nothing of note with his career despite being born in a sane clime full of opportunities, but people want him included in our team just because he was born in Europe, forgetting that the boy has suffered in the championship while the more talented ones have left him to join the EPL, but they don't want a 23year old Nwakali because he was born in Owerri. Ndi apari grin
