I love how you're able to look beyond the wailings and focus on the Crux of the matter
The Coach has stated his philosophy, it's only natural that he goes for players who he thinks fit into his preferred playing system
Even the Olisa Ndah guy is a ball playing defender
Seems he would want to build from deep
I'm more interested in how we play than the particular players invited for now. That's secondary

I love this. You are right

Yes, that's why I feel we shouldn't judge the coach yet
Let's see his first 2-3 games, those will give a clearer picture as to why he invited the players he invited
Also remember, he wasn't allowed to change the whole list, just a few amendments were allowed and he brought in the players he feels can fit into his system

I'm just waiting for camp to resume
Who knows? The same Nwakali may become one of our keys players
Fingers crossed

That's it

Truth is, every coach has his personal bias
The only thing Nigerians want is good football and results
If Eguavoen gives us that in the AFCON, we won't care which players he invites
After all, we didn't know Osaze until he burst into the scene at the 2002 AFCON

Let's not crucify Eguavoen yet
Let's see what he has to offer

Even Akpos self, Rohr no rate him..He used him out of position on his debut and continue with calamity Ekong... E dey ignore Ebuehi too.. But Dem wan blame Eguavon cheesy .. I get their time today....

Thing is Austin and Rohr should share the blame 50/50, for the square list

Your first line is absolute facts... Even the most tactically sound coaches have that bias..
Rohr openly displayed that bias by selecting players he felt would suit his conservative style of play...
Now, Eguavon is trying to select his own...It's quite pathetic that some people are already criticizing him when he hasn't even started...

At least Eguavoen has the presence of mind to replace Onuachu with Nwakali, that's an improvement from Rohr

this is not bogus,
what was Austin position before being appointed the interim coach
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by lbrichman2: 8:35pm On Dec 25, 2021
Rohr's SE team lacked confidence
That lack of confidence flowed from the Coach unto the players
That might explain why Simon, monstrous at club level was pedestrian in the SE
Truth is, apart from Osimhen and sometimes Balogun and Awaziem, most of our players were pretty much mundane in the last few games under Rohr
That's not a player problem, it's a Coach's problem

I feel with Eguavoen in charge, this team will become confident again and our swagger will return

I look forward to exciting attacking games with high scorelines

With all the NFF issues, I don't expect Eguavoen to win the AFCON but I believe the team will be hard to play against or beat

I look forward to a beautiful tournament actually
Go Super Eagles!!

Now I think Nwakali is using jazz, I mean the last time I saw this guy play was like 2 years ago or sonethin.

Highly preposterous though is to think Kelechi Nwakali of Huesca in Segunda is better than Ayodele Aribo of Rangers, IMO the best mildfieder Nigeria’s got atm.

This afcon will be very peppertizing, why? We have nothing to lose at all. No pressures.

Another good addition. I really do hope he comes good to add to our options because we are pretty slim at the back. But he has to shave off this dirty looking hairstyle otherwise, I would keep him same place I have kept Iwobi.

This is extremely painful. Especially for Dessers and Akpoguma. These guys are on fire. Ighalo, Musa, Shehu, collins, Simon moses, John noble, akpeyi don't deserve to be in the list. I knew Nwakwali will be included, i said it earlier. Wallahi, I am pained. Seems we don't wanna win the AFCON. I see our best performance as Quarter final exit. Wallahi this is painful to imagine that our NFF will toy with our passion. From the delays to the unseriouness to get a world class coach quickly. I'm so pained about this. Damn
I told you guys to wait for it

If all things goes well. The only team that can beat this present team, is a North African Team... Algeria or Morocco. Every other team we go best them with gen gen pressing (if that's what Eguavoen puts into effect).

Ebuehi is particularly very painful. Every comments I see in the blogs are asking same question: Where is Ebuehi?

Why don't the coaches rate him when he's arguably the best at that position currently, except Aina.

It's painful and costly too. Dude is very useful to attacking football.

Rohr submitted a 37 man list, Eguavoen trimmed it to 28 man list removing our foreign born talents who deserve to be on the list based on merit, twist it as much as you want it doesn't remove the truth
I suspected that too, Akpoguma, Ebuehi and Bassey all play at a higher level than the likes of Collins, Shehu and Ndah. Nwakali hasn't done anything of note this season as well.
