Regionize this failed entity and let all regions take care of themselves. With the escalating insecurity, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the central govt to provide security. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

The fact that the entire South East has no representation in the security architecture is part of the reasons it failed woefully, when you apply sentiments in appointments you may never get the right people to do the job effectively. Buhari filling up everywhere with his kinsmen has reduced the level of patriotism been displayed by troops at the frontlines 16 Likes |

First, we must decentralize Nigeria’s policing architecture. In addition to the urgent creation of State Police, every Local Government should be able and allowed to establish its own Local Police system and structure to operate within its own jurisdiction in line with its resource availability. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Some highly placed individuals are part of security problems in Nigeria that is why simple technology that would've been deployed to track their foot soldiers are prevented from being deployed. 1 Like |

Honestly, they need to decentralize security and allow states and regional police just like Fire Service.. When there are layers of security, the states and infact regions would be safer with less external attacks. The governors being CSOs in their respective states would be able to act and not just be figure-head chief security officers. 2 Likes |

Regional police force: yes. State police force: yes. Local government police force: no Why? Because local government do not have the resources to have a police forces. Most states even don't have the resources to have police force not to talk for most local governments. 1 Like |

State police is a must... Everyone needs it.. Let the respective state polices be licensed by Federal police at least for now.. Federal police will act like a regulator for the state police to check excesses of the state police... 2 Likes |

People, security agents must 1st of All obey the law and respect the constitution b4 creating state police. We don’t want another bunch of brutal extortionist and barbarians on our hands. Untrained security architecture is equal to no security architecture. 2 Likes |

day don dey break for north! we will all soon come to terms with the fact that the damn country needs an honest in-depth RESTRUCTURING! REGIONAL RESTRUCTING MUST BE DONE WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY. every region should fully take care of itself - economically, security wise, socially et al. Every region should and must take full control of their resources - thank God we now have oil in the north. so they will now support regionalism. 1 Like |

This is preaching to the choir. The people at the helm of affairs know all these, but then, somewhere in their twisted mind, their personal dreams and agenda is more important than the lives the present structure is consuming daily 3 Likes |

Asking for fire by officially creating armed robbers. States that finds it difficult to pay workers salary are now expected not to be owing state police. The solution is to create armed civilian jtf in every part of the country, this one that innocent and defenseless people have become easy pickings. Let's see if banditry won't disappear in 4 months,if community leaders are mandated to pick men and women of good characters to undergo a month training on weapon handling and other stuff |

ochejoseph:So state police is now no longer vulnerable to being used by governors to perpetuate themselves in power and hound political foes? So state police has lost its possiblity of metamorphosing into regional army to be used for secession pursuits? These people are obviously tired of living in denial. They have always opposed state police both on the legislative chambers of NASS and in every national confab with the above excuses. I can't imagine that it took these Notherners being raped and massacred by terrorists for donkey years for them to understand that a decentralized internal security architecture is the only way to curb insecurity in a highly populated multi-ethnic society like Nigeria. 1 Like 1 Share |
