VAT is a consumption tax. It's usually paid by the person enjoying the product/service. It can be charged as an extra cost or sometimes it's embedded in d cost of the service. Whichever way they want to do it, it's not partners that will bear that cost. Either they will charge VAT separately in addition to d fare like Bolt is doing with the 3% or they will increase fare to accommodate d VAT.
Since Uber/Bolt insist they are not a transport company but a technology company it means partners are the transporters, providers of the service and d collectors of payment reason why they need your TIN to tie all d VAT u generate.

I think I like this your explanation... Its clearer now with the 3% on bolt but the 7.5% on Uber is for what? Where is that gonna be deducted from?

It won't affect your earning to me means the fare for every trip remains the same but where is the 7.5% gonna be deducted from? Mind you it was clearly stated Tax and not VAT and does it mean all along partners have not been paying this Tax? Why then was our TIN requested?

Brain washed ... same thing APC is doing to Nigeria
when u listen to uche or liar Mohammed for too much u will begin to believe them.
Firstly they added #20 on riders fare
Secondly 3% on riders
Now TIN /Tax same rider?
When winter show all hidden charges will be clear and open. Surge blinding us now

I no call anybody UCHE or liar Mohammed I just use example in passing...

It's kinda stupid as the app that connected both the driver and rider shows where the driver is on his/her App.

Is it not clearly shown on their app?
Because someone asked a silly question doesn't mean I have to answer stupidly.

So the best way I answer is, I am close by/ around the corner/ few blocks away.
True....

Drivers need to calm a bit,
Dealing with This riders needs patience

What I think is the fare may increase, but that increase will not benefit partners cos it's a function of the 7.5% and d increase will be deducted accordingly.

So, for example a trip that's normally 1k will end up being N1,075 but the extra N75 ontop goes to d govt. Or Uber will bear the cost from their 25% profit. Na them Sabi, all I know is that they can't take it from partners money.

Personally I don't see anything wrong with the question where are you.
Like wtf! Was the rider supposed to ask?

Courtesy demands you open a formal conversation with a salutation, the question "where are you as a means of opening a conversation without any form of salutation or something like "hi", hey" "whatsup" is rude and passes a wrong notion to the receiver at the other end.

We as Nigerians need to start remodel and restructure and renew our minds and attitudes towards people and everything if not I see no future for thus country.

That a man is a cab driver doesn't make him less human or warrant you to look down on them. Show respect to people as you would them to you.

Got to PU I saw sb discussing with another lady in a Camry after like 3-4min the lady left and a boy brought a bad and put in my boot. Tye boy was now talking to me that it's the bag I'm taking. Meanwhile, a Corolla pull over right at the spot the Camry left and the lady was standing beside the Corolla to receive what the man brought I supposed to her still.

Me: young man where is this stuff going to
Him: trying to respond to me then the girl was telling him to tell me to be going.
Me: tell her to come na, I was even trying to call her with hand signs
Girl: talking to tje boy and the boy was reporting back that she said she will send the contact to me
Me: Me dey no dey like delivery because it's too stressful especially when its a cash trip.
How will you be talking to me through sb and standing at a distance who tue fuxk do u think you're?

Me: young man take that stuff out of my boot right away!

The guy on the corolla was just surprise look at us both... I just waited and cancel afterwards.

Na so one after I'd arrive and was parked right beside her where she would enter the car comfortably since the car owner side is on the safe sife of the road... Madam start to argue asking me to turn that we're going the opposite side b4 she'll enter the car.
Auntie enter na she said no.
Okay make I turn abi? No wahala... Her trip was card... I turned and zoomed off...

Pls don't ask me what I did with the trip... Na 1star I drop for her... Uber does 500trips average rating so I'm not bothered at all about 1 star rating.

Nawao... This country enh... Our attitude is so degregrated and sow...

You're driving a V8 SUV to attend a party and you left the car running with AC on while you're inside having fun just because you want the car cabin cold when you're ready to move.

The black man can never advance with this kind of mentality.

No wonder some stupid girls will request and expect a driver to be waiting for her them 20-30min in the sun.

Bad attitude... After 20min she called me after I'd picked up a rider and enroute to destination to ask where I'm.

Auntie do you expect me to be waiting for you? request another ride!

Had a terrible experience with this delivery of a thing on Christmas Day.

Last last I took the stuff to be delivered back home. And it was yesterday I linked up with the guy in my area to give him back the stuff to be delivered.

He used wrong delivery address, the person the stuff was to be delivered to was not around, gave two different address which turned out to still not be the right one. It was already getting late.

Had to lock up and go back home with it.

Due to the “pepper dem” posting i usually see here, i also tried grossing the best i can yesterday.. As per my office no dey open na, i set out early 7:10 am , rested in a place from 2- 4 :15 due to fatigue. Had some mad migrain in between (as i was fighting the sleep by noon). Closed 11: 25pm or so

Last last i grossed 40k , i dont know how you all do this on a steady , but one thing i know is that this shit aint healthy if thats what you do. Your health is important….

I love this analysis. Though, according to your expression, you were surprised at the experience and wasn't pleasurable, but I learned some useful things here.

But if one would consider health as you said, I think working for the long period of time you worked, one can adopt the one-day-on and one-day-off system. This would allow the body system to balance, not to break down, and the health of the car, too. And considering your net profit, if it's one day on - one day off, a guy man is making a profit of over 90k in a week (that's over 360k in a month).
This, I think, should be the best.

Oga isn't that double or multiple taxation... What happened to the N20/trip we are already paying?
How about the 20% and 25% commission? Do you want to tell me it's been collected just to merge riders and drivers alone?

I worked N200k and you collect N50k as commison
I buy fuel 40k to earn 200k
I eat at least 3k daily making an avrg of 20 weekly.
Car maintenance assume it to be 20k
Total: 50+40+20+20 =130k.
Bal: 200-130 = N70.

And you still want to tax me on that afyer paying commission of over 50k? to my app coy? Are you for real or you're joking?

Aren't the app coys paying tax to the government? All drivers provided a tax number during registration if I can remember vividly uber requested for it during signing up so what is expected is for them to provided our tax clearance papers at the end of every year accordingly.

So what else are you asking for again.

Evil people
Evil leaders
Evil political children which I'm very sure you're one of them.

Kontinue oh you hear me so?one day you people will see something

It's really sad. Very, very sad, bro. embarassed
