Napoli are so determined to stop Osimhen from coming for AFCON. He's tested positive for Covid? Game over for Osihmen. |

Eizzy003: In my opinion, Osimhen should just stay in Italy, it's not worth going head to head against his employers. It's likely the COVID thing is another scheme by his club to keep him in Italy. Abbey George shared a similar experience he had years ago on OJB's live. Eguavon was also Coach at the time, and his coach unknown to him called NFA to inform them he was injured. He only about knew when a concerned Eguavon called to check on him. He told h he wasn't injured, sadly he had been replaced. He should stay in Italy abeg, the drama is becoming much, we have numerous alternatives, more so k care more about his career |

humility33: When it comes to Ndah, from the clips I have seen his short passing skills. Which look very sound and I can see why Eguavoen will want him in the team. I guess we are going to do a lot of heavy-passing build up play and I think at some point Eguavoen might turn to him. I have not watched much of Akpoguma to judge him on that but maybe with Ekong, Balogun, and Awaziem, Eguavoen feels he needs a defender with a different playing pattern. Maybe he feels okay with the above and feels Akpoguma will not offer much different from them. |

humility33: As for Bassey, I feel the same sentiments played a part. Remember the time is short and it is not a long tournament. So I feel Eguavoen is okay with Omeruo, Ekong, Awaziem, and Balogun. These are four defenders for two positions. So he added Ndah in case of a tactical preference. So carrying Bassey and Akpoguma would be surplus for the central position and left back roles. |

andrewbaba44: Andrew, be calming down biko. Perhaps shady was not the right word to use to convey my opinion. What I mean is that the release of the 40-man provisional list has impugned Eguavoen's character and shows he has integrity issues. Before now, we were made to understand that the 40-man list was sacrosant and bar injury to a player on the list, the final 28 man squad would be drawn from the provisional list. Paul Onuachu was injured and replaced with Kelechi Nwakali. I'm not a fan of Nwakali but I can understand his inclusion under that circumstance How did Olisah Ndah who was not in the provisional list make the final list? 2 Likes |

humility33:Oga humility I can only fault him on Akpoguma even Rohr preferred Collins and Shehu over Bassey and Ebuehi....so only Akpoguma would have made it if Rohr was still in charge and there will be no place for Nwakili, with Onuachu injury Lookman would have replaced him.........meaning with Rohr we would have had Akpoguma and Lookman in the team. 1 Like |

Meliforme: Lets not act like its only Ndidi that will defend the length of the place pls. Thats why i said we need an Etebo kinda player to balance it out. Nwakali is not that player. The fact both has more to offer doesn't mean others won't join them against attacking teams like Algeria, Egypt, Senegal, Tunisia. Bottomline: Nwakali can't play that CM role. I however want him to prove me wrong cos new Revelations do just that. Else...... 1 Like |

This is Central Africa not North Africa, No North African team will smell the final...take this to the bank. Cup is between Senegal, Cameroun, Cote d Ivoire. Would have added Nigeria but preparation is in shambles. darkelf: |

semid4lyfe:Honestly I thought 28 man list must emerged from 40 man list but we saw two outsider in Nwakili and Olisa Ndah in the team.....definitely questions must be asked, why the duo making the team at the expense of invited players.....I don't know maybe Eguavoen had press conference after the list came out to defend the inclusion of Nwakili and Olisa. But from my own point of view,Rohr was sacked for tactical reason and Eguavoen must have studied the team tacticaly prompted listing of Nwakili and Olisa in the team....meaning the two players have significant roles to play cos seeing them on the bench in Afcon will put a question mark on Eguavoen decision. My man let's wait and see what will happen in Afcon, after then will evaluate Eguavoen tactical decisions. 1 Like |

Kog45: If Kelz Nwakali and Ndah ends on the bench, it won't be far fetched. Keep in mind there is little time for thorough preparation and they can come in if the coach wants to make a tactical switch. For now, Eguavoen made it clear he is working with the team on ground. Therefore, there is a big chance the Rohr regulars will run the show. However, I am expecting different and seeing Kelz and Ndah breaking in. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 12:31pm On Dec 30, 2021 |
forgiveness: Eguavoen is working with Rohr's regulars. There is little time for preparation and no chance for even a proper friendly. Ndah and Nwakali likely broke in due to tactical preferences. It is not too hard to understand. |
