Did you know that there are some poorly educated folks on this forum who say that Igbos are flooding Nairaland will bad news about Nigeria and that they support more chaos, because they want Nigeria to go down? There are also other ignoramuses who are fanatically beholden to a certain presidential candidate at the expense of healthy discourse, logic and pragmatism. They will use every trick in the book to deflect from the truth and this often includes spreading unfounded, poorly researched and many times, concocted fables about Igbos and their doings or undoing’s, usually in a negative light. These are the ones who are at the core of the mess we are currently witnessing, experiencing and coping with in Nigeria. They don't want fresh blood or new ideas; they are biased bigots who will support a washed out man for religious and tribal reasons even though it will be devasting for Nigeria and its indigenous peoples.

Now, I want to tell you directly that Igbos want Nigeria to go UPWARD, and this is evident in the pervasiveness of our investments across the country. We invest in the North, in the West and in the South. No other tribe does this on the same scale and with the same degree of pragmatism and dedication. Igbos invest because they want to improve their lives and that of their families and extended families and relatives.

There are several benefits of this approach - for example, the indigenous populations who are employed by Igbos, investments in real estate and small business startups; the boosting of local economies; promoting national unity and improving cultural awareness and understanding.

However, a chaotic Nigeria, a terrorist infiltrated Nigeria, a Nigeria with poor infrastructure and non-existent security is a threat to the progress of Igbos as a people. Furthermore, the spreading of violence through land grabs and mass rape, pillaging and murder is a grave threat not only to the development that Igbos so earnestly work towards, but for their existence as a people. Therefore, Igbos complain, sometimes bitterly and they will often rise and form groups to defend their interests, land and people.

Igbos want the best for Nigeria, we want Nigeria to go from its current state of anarchy, religious myopia and fanaticism to join the modern world where every human being present in that contraption can be a beneficiary of peace, security, development, progress and prosperity.

So, next time, before you display your abject ignorance on a public forum and half-baked education - take some time to think, reason, reflect and contemplate on these succinct points I have raised.

Mind you, not all Igbos support a Biafra or segregation from Nigeria which I personally think will do us no good. We just want a functioning Nigeria.

Thank You.

You must learn to understand an Investor and a trader

Ibos are mere traders not entrepreneurs and investors

Local economy hardly benefits from Ibos trade,

Profit of trade goes to Ibo man sent to his village, Chinese manufacturers who produce the cheap goods, and the only money that stays in the community is few naira that Ibo rents his small shop from the host and land Lords

Learner who needs to improve his current level of education.

- Buying real estate and renting out or converting into businesses is an investment.
- Buying and selling used and new cars is an investment.
- Buying and selling on a large scale is an investment which also improves local economies - even a primary school pupil knows this
- Bank savings is an investment and Igbos have massive savings in Northern and Western banks
- Air travel is a form of investment which also facilitates trade nationally
- Not all spare parts are from China, many are original parts or used parts from original manufacturers
- Even if we buy parts from China, is it not better than having nothing to maintain your old cars with? Don't you know that the market for cheap spare parts is because many of you cannot afford the real thing or newer cars?
- Igbos also invest in electronics, clothing, agriculture, pharmaceutical products etc.

Igbos invest BIG

Don't let jealousy becloud your judgement.

I don't want to look like a bigot that's why i didn't say much.
Igbo business is mainly importations of which substandard goods are included all this affects the economy badly.
And it also kills our growing technology industries. Since we can't beat chinese cheap product.
Well our useless government caused this

I don't think its jealousy tho, he's trying to establish the fact that igbo business is majorly importations and not manufacturing industry.

Such business should be regulated

Lol, jealousy on display.

You produce NOTHING , zero - so remain quiet.

Igbos produce and they also import.

Igbos import according to the financial well being of Nigerians, which means they import both expensive and cheap products. The later is for broke people and the former for those who can afford.

For example, if most Nigerians cannot afford macbooks that cost an average of N1 million Naira it does not make business sense to mass import these items, instead you import a few for those who can afford them and then buy other affordable products for the generals masses in different price ranges.

Igbos produce shoes, cars, clothing and even petrochemical products.

But, make Nigeria WORK and you will see Igbos massively invest in the full scale production of ' all and sundry' products. We are versatile and will adapt to any condition necessary for our survival.

OP should speak to his fellow ibos about this. Other tribes don’t care about what you say, we know where you stand.

We have seen your true colours and trust me, we will NOT be fooled by any sweet talks but action. You will have to continuously prove that you mean well for this country and all other tribes that inhabit it before we change our stance.

You have to declare independence first. Disintegrate from Igbos first before thinking of how to steal our properties.

We are still one Nigeria (albiet a useless fake shithole). Disintegrate from Igbos and you can make laws to steal Igbo properties (which you stole in 1967 and still ran to cry to Queen Elizabeth to send her plane and navy to come and force Igbos to come and live in your cursed Nigeria cheesy
