My respect for Eguavoen just went up.

Eguavoen explains why he shelved the plan for seven NPFL non-roster invitees to train with Eagles

Nigeria's caretaker manager Augustine Eguavoen has explained why he shelved the plan for seven Nigeria Professional Football League non-roster invitees to train with the national team in Abuja ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles legend was in touch with players from Enugu Rangers, Kwara United, Kano Pillars and Rivers United among others, only for him to jettison the idea on second thought.

Eguavoen stressed that it made no sense for the seven domestic-based players to train with the team as their clubs have key matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

None of the NPFL stars stood a chance of being included in the traveling squad to Cameroon this week simply because their names were not on the provisional roster submitted to the Confederation of African Football.

"I still have their names, about seven home based players I wanted to be in the midst, train and then see what happens but my hands were so tied that the league only started on the 19th of December," Eguavoen said to NFF TV.

"I know players have to play in their teams, no time to play any friendly games.

"I had to reach out to Tope (Olusesi) from Rangers, (Musa) Afeez from Kwara United, Uche (Onwuansanya) from Rivers United, couple of players but we have to submit a list, so there is no time to actually give them that opportunity to play friendly games but hopefully they will also still have a chance.

"But it really doesn't make sense to bring them now, deny them from playing for their clubsides midweek, weekend, and then we are on the plane to Cameroon, and to go back home. It doesn't really make sense but their chance will come".

Enyimba's John Noble is the only home-based player included in Nigeria's 28-man squad list for the Africa Cup of Nations and definitely starts the tournament as the fourth choice in the pecking order of goalkeepers.

So , you have the temerity to give excuses why Aribo has not impressed and even went further to to deafen us with all these qualities that made Aribo superior to Nwakali ? Just reread the thing you wrote and tell me you didn't see the bigotry and bias in that post that is good for the toilet drains.

In the last three matches Aribo played for SE he has no impressed , showed skills nor held the midfield with these invincible qualities he possessed. Anyways , whether you like it or not Nwakali is coming to camp and your fears will know no bounds. Sorry

If you play a striker as a defensive midfielder you cannot expect him to play well. Everybody and their parents know that Aribo plays best the closer he gets to the opponents' goal. I don't know why Rohr adamantly refused to play him where he is best utilized. It is not his fault he has not performed as well as expected.

Nwakali is not going to bench Aribo as an AM. He could as a CM or if Eguavoen decides to follow ERohr's footsteps, but if not tthen forget it. Nwakali still has a long way to go to get to Iwobi's level, let alone Aribo.

I'm really curious about something...
Why do you always jump into every comment that criticize Pinnick to defend him?
Are you related to the man in some way, cus I've noticed that it's becoming an habit of you..

Knowing Ighalo, he will want to come as Osimhen is not there. However, I hope he has the maturity to leave this spot for the upcoming talents and watch from afar.

I think it is better you stick to hyping your innit boys here and forcing them down our throats than meddle in Chelsea matters cry

If u know so well... You won't put up those words or call Havertz flop. I know the reason for those words is because he is German.

You can talk utter balderdash and If I question you on details you will go missing. But let's see if the leopard can Indeed change his spots.

Kai Havertz has played 16 games in the EPL this season and scored 2 goals, last season 27 games and 4 goals , he has been played as a striker he cost £72 million. Him and Timo Werner were supposed to be better than Tega Abraham. But alas both of them flopped he cost £50 million. This is the quintessential definition of a player who has flopped. Nationaliyy had nothing to do with it.

Now tell me the innit boys as you call them in your SHAMELESS bigoted double standard bigotry and quasi tribalism.

Who l have hyped here, I challenge you to name just three.

Not all I jumped into, and there is no deal, beside I don't know him from Adam,

but is the post I quoted, why must he finds a way to bring him in

secondly, if am corrected he will support Austin decisions to bring in those players if the list had not been submitted, players that had been out of actions for a long time,

Now if he had used Rohr I would had understand, bit what excitement is Pinnick trying to spoil there

This is what he gives his team week in, week out. He is a total baller who hardly has a bad game, that is why Huesca fans are scared he might get poached this winter.

Let's burst your DELUSIONAL bubble, if he is so good why is he the lowest paid player in his Segundo division team Huesca

I will not ask why he has stayed in mediocrity for five years from one lower league to another even descending to youth football in Porto B and still struggling.

Is it only the coaches in the NFF have eyes to see ,that nobody is else in European football can see.

I know you will not answer the question but resort to gutter language and vitriolic rhetoric EVADING the question completely.

Evasion master always making noise and changing the subject because you just cannot get into a civil substantive discussion.

The way you've been supporting mediocrity is getting out of hand

So you expect the coach to be using SE national team to test those junkies form the NPFL in the name of unearthing talents? Same nonsense keshi was doing that he went give an unknow player the famous No. 10 jersey and also starts to feature the likes of Gambo and co at the expense of better experience players cutting it in European leagues

You should be the one that should fear God because if an home based player cannot prove himself in CHAN or WAFU team he has no business in the SE

Come which type of bear do you drink,

for this post ah tuale for you

If rumors of Ighalo going to Newcastle is true, i would think it's better for him to avoid AFCON so he can join Newcastle on loan this January.

You have asked this question like 100 times in the last one week, when does the amount a player is paid become a measure of quality?( I'm sure Kepa will be earning almost double Mendy's wages at Chelsea undecided)
Is it a crime to play for Porto B at some point in a player's career?
You keep talking about his career 3, 4 seasons ago, what happened to your law of "here and now".?
By the way... Who do you suggest should replace him? Chuks Aneke? or Fred onyedinma? abi sheyi ojo? and this other one Tega Onomah? grin

What do you find so offensive

Three simple questions that you and your other noisemakers completely avoid , Why 3 Questions should not cause this level of rancour and vitriolic rhetoric.

I'll repeat the questions;

1.) Is he is the most outstanding player in his team ❓
2.) Is he the best Midfielder in his team ❓❓
3.) Is he outstanding in his low level league ❓❓❓

If I say a player is good I will give some level of justification rational not just emotive preference.

The question then arises what's the justification for his selection, historical youth exploits 7 years ago.

I only copied and paste what you replied someone with when he criticized a player,
So spare me all this your write up.

And at the bolded have you seen me clamour for or criticize a player here? I expect you will be civil next time if you decide to quote again

Havertz is not a striker.

At Leverkusen he was an AM. He can also play false 9/SS. His main aim is not to score, he is not a point man.

He is too lazy off the ball. That is my main issue with the guy.

He is not aggressive enough. He doesn't take charge and rush into the rumble. I said it before that it was like he was trying not to get his jersey dirty. It is good to be sleek, but you also have to be aggressive and demanding to play at the top level.

This where Aribo edges Nwakali. Aribo is as sleek, but more aggressive and demanding. He always wants to join in and take matters into his hands. Aribo at Rangers is totally different from Aribo at SE because of the way Rohr uses him. Aribo is not a CM, he is more of a LM/AM hybrid. He is not a Kante or even an Onyeka, he is more of a De Bruyne/Eze with his shots on the edge of the box and his attacking runs. His passing is not up to the level it should be but he is still not too bad in that aspect.

Kelz Nwakali made some nice runs in tracking back. I was impressed with his speed at times. Where it worries him is when the ball is off the zone where he is operating. I think a bit decent coaching can sort him out.
