Olubadan: Markets to shut down in Oyo Monday

In honour of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Oyo State traders have announced that no market will open on Monday.

The 93-year-old monarch joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday at the University of Ibadan College Hospital after a brief illness.

The directive to close the state markets was issued by the Babaloja General of Oyo State, Asiwaju Yekini Abass, popularly called YK Abass following an emergency meeting of all market leaders on Sunday.

Abass said the decision was made in recognition of the late monarch’s contribution to the development of Ibadanland.

He urged the traders and shop owners to comply with the directive.

The statement further said that Oba Adetunji enhanced the patronage of the markets.

He prayed for the repose of the soul of Oba Adetunji and for Allah to grant him Al Jannah Firdaus.

Some are gonna say it's tradition some are gonna say it's quite wrong cos it's infringing the traders right..

My opinion is that even if they wanna honour the man can't it be done in a way that isn't gonna affect the persons and traders going around with their daily source of income..?

Modified:Note there is a guy on here who goes by the name begat40 who cloned my account "FernandezPablo" the new account is "FernandezPablo's...

Buhari is a great Economist, Buhari has made life so easy for Nigerians, He created millions of jobs, security is good, we can travel to any part of the North with our mind at rest. Infact Buhari is the best thing that has ever happened to Nigeria. Learn to appreciate his good work.
