Bible wasn't teaching flood story, such story were in existence even before Moses was born. The ancient world had it. You took time to be estimating flood period but failed to do study on where and how such story began. That is laziness.

The writer of that portion of the Bible was a prophet and was using the flood story to teach God's plan for humanity. He never claimed to be the author of the story, but he was the mouth piece for the revelation taught using the same story.

From normal CRK knowledge, you can verify from your Bible. Add up the ages of the people giving birth to their children.

Abraham(100) + Isaac(40) + Jacob (lets say 150 and not add Joseph till death) + Slavery before Moses (430 years approx.) If you pick up calculator and add Genesis 11v10 to 26, you will get another 400+years. This is way past your assumptions. And this is supposing that your revered assumers are accurate enough on the time between Moses and Jesus.

Your assumption is premised on another ignorant assumption that you need billions of people to build the pyramids. Yet same science will tell us people were not many at all in those days, not even up to 50 million. You are over 200million in your country, can you build pyramid?

Now, help him to be doing research and study well. The same flood story he speaks about was in the legend of ancient Mesopotamia and ancient China. That means such story was already in circulation before Moses was born. Making Moses the sole owner of the flood story is lack of study. Moses must have learnt it in school, Egypt has same legend.

No one can ascertain the timing. If it was taught as a legend in the ancient world of Mesopotamia, which is the cradle of civilization. Then we must be assured that the event, if it occurred, must have been in period when man knows nothing about writings but communicate orally. Hence the timing will always be disputed as the very events itself.

But using the scale of human populating the earth as at the time of the ancient east culture, we can arguably extrapolate that if such event truly happened before their time, not more than 1000 Souls worldwide would have experienced it.

Now ponder on how such events can be accurately preserved till man's civilization. The reason it will be on argument table till ages.
