Those guys are very useless and hopeless, they will want to sweet tongue you to work on engine and gear when they know the possibility of it not working is there.
I always advocate for changing of worn out parts and have peace, though the issue have always been how to get original parts.

He even told him not to pay till he confirms that the gear has been fixed. He "fixed" the gear, it was test driven and everything seemed to be fine and he was paid.

Less than a week later the gear packed up on his way to Benin despite not going above 80km/hr as advised by the "gear specialist"

Penny wise , pound foolish........... Mobil 20w50 at an accredited station is 9k Naira for 4liter. Depending on ur car usage .. Especially for ehailing ... You will need to change every 3k miles.......

Uber driver does at least 2k miles a month .... Break down cost each oil change every month or 10k miles.....

Mobil 20w50........ 9k
Oil Change labour.......3k
Oil Filter.................... 2500k
Total = 14500k each month or every 3k miles

Super Tech Advance for 20k miles 22500k Naira.
( Change oil every 3months or 10k miles) *** use quality filter...........

Super Tech .....22500k
Fram Extended Oil filter 5k naira....... good for 10k miles oil change.

Oil change Labour .......3k

..........kindly do the math....... Keep the following in mind .......

Fram oil Filter 10k miles oil change.... Filter will last for the whole 3months or 10k miles .......

Non Extended Oil filter .... You have to change them every time you do oil change.

As we enter 2022 make we buckle up . make we use sense on how we spend money.....

Truth is very few drivers change oil every month. Even when they are pouring palm oil inside their engines they will still drive it for 2months and above with 1k filter that filters nothing.
Some will say they have saved enough to replace the engine if it packs up, but like Yeyegbami has said...its not about the money, d main problem is getting a good and sound engine to buy.

So the real penny wise pound foolish is engine replacement.

iwaeda:

Magodo Brooks Residents Association has denied claims by the Lagos State Police Command that the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, was humiliated and denied entry into their estate.

Residents of the estate lamented that apart from arresting and detaining security guards, a widow and her children were also arrested and detained on the order of the CP.

The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, had in a statement noted that the CP didn’t lock down the estate, noting that he was stopped from entering the estate despite being accompanied by his armed security details, driven in his official car bearing an official number plate and a pennant, including all the paraphernalia of office.

But the estate, in press statement, said the security guards had no prior knowledge of the CP’s visit and were arrested in their bid to assist him with directions.

The statement read, “The Executives of MABRA will like to apologise to all residents who were delayed in the traffic jam caused by the social visit of the commissioner of police, Hakeem Odumosu on the 1st of January, 2022 to our estate,” the statement read.

“At about 6pm – Saturday evening, Odumosu entered our estate to attend a social event at the instance of one of our residents.

“It was quite a busy day in the estate yesterday as many residents had ongoing social events.

“The estate security operatives on duty, having not had prior knowledge of Mr. Odumosu’s visit and in a bid to assist him with directions to the house of his host, sought to ascertain the particular resident he was visiting.

“The commissioner interpreted this act as an insult on his person and ordered the immediate arrest of all the security operatives on duty even after gaining access into the Estate to attend the party.

“A resident who happens to be a widow that was passing by with her three children was also ordered to be arrested alongside her 3 children by the commissioner of police. Her offense was that she tried to intervene to understand the situation.

“The Executives, represented by the vice-chairman and the publicity secretary, after being briefed of the situation, proceeded to the party to apologise on behalf of the security operatives for any disrespect caused to the commissioner and plead for the release of the resident, her three children, and the security operatives. These pleas fell on deaf ears.

“At this point, the executives, members of the estate security committee, the estate CSO and some residents had converged at the estate gate to plead with the commissioner on his way out with the hope that his anger would have subsided after enjoying the party.

“To our amazement, the commissioner came down from the car on his way out, said he was insulted by our estate and further instructed that the remaining security operatives who replaced the arrested ones should also be arrested.

“This resulted in complete shutdown of the estate as no one could go in or come out as our estate gate is automated and the operatives with the access token were all arrested with the token. This further resulted in the traffic jam that occurred on CMD Road for over 4hrs.

“Pleas from different angles were made to the Commissioner with no yield until about 11 pm when he finally gave in. The estate was finally able to bail the security operatives who were already put in cell, the resident with her children who were put behind the counter at about 11:30pm.”

The C.P is a very stupid man, sense is far from him. In line with what the estate management said, even if they have to wait for feedback from the security men. They didn't stop him, they were only trying to give him directions and voom as per the first estate the C.P is entring since he resumed office, he decide to test power.

I dont know where you read that they didn't give him access . He was just power drunk and on arrest rampage.

But my point is, everybody should be subjected to same protocols. It's only in Nigeria that politicians and government officials will jump queues, expect preferential treatment, etc when indeed they are servants placed in leadership positions, and as leaders should show good example. That "I be big man" mentality is what I hate...whoever you are, u can do your kingship inside your kingdom. As far as a anywhere is concerned, lawful rules has to be followed by all except the king. The only kings in Lagos are d Governor and the President. It is this law-bending that has corrupted our society to a state of decadence. See us here now defending the commissioner against poor innocent guys doing their jobs.
They were doing their jobs for Christ sake...what if the police were there to arrest someone illegally without warrant like they always do?
What if they were gatecrashing a party without invite?
They had to get clearance. If that took too long that's probably not on them and definitely not a reason to be thrown inside cell.
Let's have some dignity and respect for other humans especially those we perceive not to be in our level. This is not a case of disrespect for elders.

You've said it all, they didnt disrespect Odumosu, what they did was disrespectin the office. I.T.K plenty for all these security men, all they need to know is to truly identify his person and let him go. So if it's Sanwo the son of Olu that is how they will stop him in the name of doing their duty. Well! The estate has not lay claim on stopping the C.P, they were only giving him directions. Fear won't let them stop the C.P on a public road.

Are we still talking about Magodo Brooks or we are now generalizing to all streets with gate that leads to another main road? Let's remain within the armbits of this subject so we don't get distracted, make a mountain out of a molehill and miss d point. Magodo Brooks is definitely a private estate. Just like VGC and other enclosed, reclaimed lands that leads no where and where previously valleys, swamps, forests, etc.

U see, d problem is we don't understand the rule of law anymore because actions of our leaders and politicians has bastardized our thinking, our mentality and our personalities and we don't want to know our rights by learning.

Police commissioner does not have right to anywhere even on official duty without permission by the court. (Except for national security and terrorism). So ur thinking that because he is commissioner of Police he has right of access anywhere he goes is skewed.

In this case he wasn't on official duty, he
came for a social visit, he wasn't refused access, he was just to wait for access. It's d delay that made him angry and for him to show he has power. And this delay may have been just 1 or 2minutes. Cos we know how they behave in traffic. He got angry cos it was not express entry.
Nothing more, nothing less.

I stand to be corrected on this. The houses in the estate are private properties for sure, are the roads that lead to the houses private road? I mean Magodo brooks

You said he was on social visit, when the spokesman for the C.P said he was on assignment. You see where wisdom needs to be apply? Truth and fact are not the same, I've seen more than someone trying to tell me my right or what's in the constitution.

Nigerians test negative here, get to other countries within hours and got load down for a week to 2 because they said they test positive. No one is doing sh*t about that, if it's power play or their fundamental human right is been violated, boss they just have to apply wisdom.

@ pearl.

The security guards were not blind. I mean if you see a lion or a rhinoceros in real life, you would know these are special kind of animals, they don't need any introduction, their mere presence is intimidating....

No matter the influx of guests, the arrival of the CP and his men will surely stand out, heck there was even a rider escort, Baba forget, those security guards goofed big time.

On the issue of preferential treatment, it's a global thing. If you fly into any country with a private Jet, (United States inclusive) there is a separate clearance desk for VIPs, you won't queue with everybody.

In Lagos alone, there are over 15 area commands. Even an area commander won't dare his/her CP. Honour to whom honour is due.

Does it mean that the CP was not moving with escorts? And his plate number was not recognized?

Also, how many people will come to ur duty post and identify himself as CP? Very rare.

CP, though, abused his power.
The guards also, with the way they behave most times, are also mad.

Apparently, what may irk the oga olopa might be the manner he was attended to.
