The C.P is a very stupid man, sense is far from him. In line with what the estate management said, even if they have to wait for feedback from the security men. They didn't stop him, they were only trying to give him directions and voom as per the first estate the C.P is entring since he resumed office, he decide to test power.

I dont know where you read that they didn't give him access . He was just power drunk and on arrest rampage.

If you believe they were trying to give him direction despite your own experiences with those estate security men then you can believe anything.

I will put most of the blame on the guest. He was supposed to have informed the security men ahead of his arrival.

If he did and the security men still decided to be unfortunate, they deserve everything that happened to them

I stand to be corrected on this. The houses in the estate are private properties for sure, are the roads that lead to the houses private road? I mean Magodo brooks

You said he was on social visit, when the spokesman for the C.P said he was on assignment. You see where wisdom needs to be apply? Truth and fact are not the same, I've seen more than someone trying to tell me my right or what's in the constitution.

Nigerians test negative here, get to other countries within hours and got load down for a week to 2 because they said they test positive. No one is doing sh*t about that, if it's power play or their fundamental human right is been violated, boss they just have to apply wisdom.

Most definitely Sir, the residents cum estate management pays for creation, repairs and maintenance of the roads within the estate..u think it's Lagos state government that repairs road in some of these estates?

U really believe the spokes person for the police on this matter? As CP, U can't be on official assignment on mufty now. Atleast u know this. Baba went for a party.
The earlier we accept he needed to be cleared also d faster we will find closure to this issue.

That ur last paragraph is as different kettle of fish. If we enter that one, na full day argument.

I side pearl on this one, your assigned a job, do it well.
Reading the police spokesman statement its was filled with grandiose words like "Enviable/Exalted" position of commissioner of police.
It was reeking of pride, thats why they never respect the citizens, we pay them to serve us atleast.

They even sugar coated their report, saying he came to see the celebrant to discuss "security rated issues".....I laugh tire.
The padding and sugar coating was too obvious....Amateurs..
They are in the wrong in this one...

I knew you were going to say this. Let me clear you.

A security personnel is always on duty 24/7.

Ask those who are in the know about security issues on what I just stated up there.

Pearl is not fully aware of security personnel duties. They don't absolutely have a free life. I love military to point of thinking of joining, but wen I think what the job does to them, I didn't give it a second tot. The accolades are sweet when they get the praise, but it honestly didn't come that easy.

Guy, I be military officer pikin o, even if u dey come baracks or any military formation and u r a General, and there is protocol at the gate, u will follow that protocol, except express entry has been prepared for u or they are aware of your coming. Then u identify urself and pass.
If CP was on official duty, escort would have gone ahead of him to clear way and get clearance for him.
Bottom line is he wasn't on official duty to that estate. He went as a guest to a party.
This is not a case of being on duty 247.

@ pearl.

The security guards were not blind. I mean if you see a lion or a rhinoceros in real life, you would know these are special kind of animals, they don't need any introduction, their mere presence is intimidating....

No matter the influx of guests, the arrival of the CP and his men will surely stand out, heck there was even a rider escort, Baba forget, those security guards goofed big time.

On the issue of preferential treatment, it's a global thing. If you fly into any country with a private Jet, (United States inclusive) there is a separate clearance desk for VIPs, you won't queue with everybody.

In Lagos alone, there are over 15 area commands. Even an area commander won't dare his/her CP. Honour to whom honour is due.

Let's stop comparing apples with oranges. If u use a private jet, it doesn't exempt u from going through border checks, customs, immigration, health workers etc. There is just a separate gate for u and it's not as crowded as the general landing and flying area.
And like I said, if u think u r a king, wait till u r in ur kingdom...

In the words of the estate management “The estate security operatives on duty, having not had prior knowledge of Mr. Odumosu’s visit and in a bid to assist him with directions to the house of his host, sought to ascertain the particular resident he was visiting".

In the words of the police " visited the public Estate yesterday,1st January, 2022 to meet a strategic partner at a function after going round, visiting some places in the state to ensure safety of Lagosians.

The Commissioner of Police was accompanied by his armed security details and was driven in his official car bearing an official number plate and a pennant, including all the paraphernalia of office.

On reaching the Estate gate, he was properly introduced notwithstanding the visible security details in uniform including a dispatch rider in his convoy, yet he was prevented from entering the Estate by some overzealous private security guards".

You see the conflicting statement they are both releasing? The security men that saw a C.P with is full entourage and stopped him is truly asking for what he can do and the C.P just did what he can do. Let the estate management do what they can do about it.

I don't believe anybody, I'm just going by logics, cos even the estate management have to belief in the security men hearsay. The police have already clear it that Mogodo Brooks is a public property and if true they have no right to stop the C.P. churches do road does not make it their road.

If the CP came in a convoy of well dressed policemen in their standard outfit and the first officer can identify himself with ID card and name tag,
They should open the gate for him once they hear its CP irrespective of whether they know where he is going or not
One of the security officer can monitor their movement if possible.
That's my take.

Whether the CP is in muffty or otherwise is immaterial,
Once he came with official vehicle and policemen in standard police dress with name tag and ID card.

I love this analysis. Though, according to your expression, you were surprised at the experience and wasn't pleasurable, but I learned some useful things here.

But if one would consider health as you said, I think working for the long period of time you worked, one can adopt the one-day-on and one-day-off system. This would allow the body system to balance, not to break down, and the health of the car, too. And
considering your net profit, if it's one day on - one day off, a guy man is making a profit of over 90k in a week (that's over 360k in a month).
This, I think, should be the best.
Gurus in the house can educate us on this.
Much respect.

Work everyday 8hrs and go to the GYM 3/4 times a week you will be okay health wise

That's how one man came with his anger and frustration to mechanic workshop yesterday...started shouting at my mechanic that mechanic knock his engine and now is using his car as tools box, he even punched d mechanic. That's how mechanic para for him back. Then the man started making calls to only God knows who. He told the mechanic his work has ended today.

We told mechanic to pack his things and leave for peace to reign. That's how the man started bragging that he will end his career and wishes for this year. That they will kill him at his command if he makes him angrier than he already is and nothing will happen.
Then I said to the man, the fact that u have the power to do that doesn't mean it is right, ur anger is justifiable but to say u will end another man's life or lock him up unlawfully is not d way to go. God will judge us all.
The man didn't calm down, he said even if God come down he will do what is in his mind.
Last last he spoilt work for the mechanic and all d cars he was handling are being delayed by one day. I don't know how today will be.

Power, Pride, Anger and Evil mind. Let's humble ourselves, all this show of power is only valid at least while we wield it and at most while there is breath in our nostrils.

Can u get a renewed licence without recapturing? Cos the last renewal I did I had to do capturing again.
If yes, provided the document is original Uber shouldn't have any problem with it.

But since Uber has this facial recognition tech, I would advise u do recapture so your ID matches ur current looks.

Like seriously, someone that you haven't met before nor talked with before will just call you and start asking 'where are you?'
What happened to telling the driver you made a request and got him?
Even if you don't want to greet him at least he would know it's the rider talking to him.

There was a day I got a request and call came in almost immediately I thought it was the rider the usual me that wouldn't want to start entertaining the 'where are you' question quickly told the rider where I am and that I am driving to pick up point, the person was confused.
It now dawned on me that I am talking to another person that doesn't even know anything about bolt, I felt embarrassed at the same time.
So like Felicity is saying it won't take anything from you if you greet and let the driver know you're the one he's coming to pick, even if you don't have airtime use the bolt call feature.

Maybe I didn't get it from the beginning. Please what did they do wrong? And lawfully what's the punishment for their crime??

The C.P is the number one person in the echelon of security matters in his state. All matter regarding security issue falls back to his desk and he have the right to access any public road within his jurisdiction. I came to knw this when I drive around with my lasma friend, as long as he is on duty or can use ID as identification, most restricted zone's let us go. I asked him one day and he made me to understand most of these gates are not supposed to be under locked and even if they have to lock them it is supposed to be with a time frame. Now, if there's traffic somewhere and he receive a call to rush down to ease the situation, how do he get to the point on time when everywhere is under lock?

Take for instance on the 31st, tanker spilled it content on Otedola bridge, while the authorities were trying to calm the situation and motorist were trying to use the omole phase ll aternative route, these security men won't let them use the route as escape route. Imagine if something bad happened? Rumour has it that they did the same thing when the worst inferno happened on same bridge.

Their offence is obstructing a C.P from accessing a public property, even after his identity has been known. That's an insult, an act that disrespect his office. The supposed action to be taken is what I cant outrightly tell, but at least he didn't beat those men.

The Caliber that can invite a Commissioner of Police to his party and he will honor the invitation.

But my point is, everybody should be subjected to same protocols. It's only in Nigeria that politicians and government officials will jump queues, expect preferential treatment, etc when indeed they are servants placed in leadership positions, and as leaders should show good example. That "I be big man" mentality is what I hate...whoever you are, u can do your kingship inside your kingdom. As far as a anywhere is concerned, lawful rules has to be followed by all except the king. The only kings in Lagos are d Governor and the President. It is this law-bending that has corrupted our society to a state of decadence. See us here now defending the commissioner against poor innocent guys doing their jobs.
They were doing their jobs for Christ sake...what if the police were there to arrest someone illegally without warrant like they always do?
What if they were gatecrashing a party without invite?
They had to get clearance. If that took too long that's probably not on them and definitely not a reason to be thrown inside cell.
Let's have some dignity and respect for other humans especially those we perceive not to be in our level. This is not a case of disrespect for elders.
blowing sirens in traffic so u can leave the road for them, that's how they broke my side mirror the last time..rubbish oppressing citizens with power
