Okay, thanks
So does that means I need to have the ID at hand before submitting the necessary documents? Also, should the ID be included in the Rec. Letters?

Gurus in the house, please I need your advice.

I just got my PhD admission US for Fall 2022. G.A offer-Full funding.

I got several admissions last year but couldn't go because I was planning my wedding. Deferred

I am pregnant at the moment and my due date is march/April by God's grace. I plan on going to the US with my baby and my husband.(F2)

I am waiting for my baby to be born before proceeding with i20, visa and the rest.

Please I will like to ask if there are any restrictions for taking a 3 or 4 months old baby to the US.

Should I defer my admission till spring 2023?

Please If you have anyone that has gone through something similar, I'll need your advice.

Thank you
Please don't defer. Your situation is a perfect one. Your husband will be there to help you care for your baby. Just concentrate on how to get funding that covers your dependants. I wish you the very best!

I'm currently studying in UALR, and English Language requirement was waived for me because I completed my first degree in English language. Just email the graduate school, they will waive it for you.

Eh! Don't try it. Pick your bag and proceed to the embassy ASAP! You have a perfect alibi for F2 and then... Do you wanna give birth to a Nigerian? My personal opinion: run to the embassy and leave before u born (if possible)... Oh, I just noticed that your EED is around March and Fall starts in August. Then you can take your time grin cheesy

WIFE & SON F2 VISA APPROVAL
1st attempt, Lagos, July 2021: Denied
Abuja 5th January 2022: Approved

VO: Good morning
Wife: Good morning
VO: Pass me your passport and i-20. Where is your husband?
Wife: Athens, Ohio
VO: where? (checks i20), oh I can see it. Why did you not follow your husband when he left?
Wife: I was busy with Federal projects touring round different states when he came for his visa interview.
VO: How long have you been married?
Wife: 3 years 4 months
VO: How old is your son?
Wife: 2years+
(VO types furiously for eternity)
VO: How long will you be there?
Wife: 4 months. I currently works remotely at work. So, just four months
(VO almost type his keyboard out)
VO: I will be approving your visa, hold your i20 at the POE.

That's my wife's testimony today. It makes 1year+ that I entered USA.

Hello Everyone,

For those that have travelled, is it really the case that one must be fully vaccinated to enter the US?

The last dose I took was crazy. And I still have one more dose to go which I ain't even eligible for before I travel.

The last time I checked, they required 2nd dose taken at least 14 days before you travel.

I get that people are skeptical about this vaccination thing, but we all know what we want to achieve here, why not take it once and for all and know that interview and visa are all you have left to worry about.

Some restaurants here don’t even let you in if you are not vaccinated, they are taking this thing 1000% serious. Let’s avoid all this late running around stress. Getting an interview date and getting the visa is already stress enough.

Okay. So here is it, you will need help with a 4 months old baby. There's no issue to apply with your family. Just continue with the rest of the process and pick the earliest date. As long as you are able to provide statement of account that will cover your dependants. PhD program is stress and your husband can ease the stress plus extra daycare cost while he's there by staying with the baby.

Best of luck

Guys, please I have a question

My visa interview is tomorrow being Thursday and if I’m approved of a visa, I might not be able to make it because my program starts the next day being Friday

And visa issuance takes about 3 working days. That means, if I’m approved, I would be picking up my passport with visa on Monday Or Tuesday the following week

I’ve informed my school about this and requested for an extension and they refused an said all students must be present at the mandatory orientation program which will be holding on Monday next week and the only option for me would be to defer to fall 2022

Since my program doesn’t admit for summer

This is really sad.

They said they would issue me a new I-20 for Fall 2022 if my visa is approved

I have accepted my Fate to defer to Fall 2022 which starts around September 2022

My question now is, how soon can I travel for my Fall Term Starting in September if my visa is approved.

Can I travel in June ?

I think you can only enter into the US not later than 30 days to the start of your program. Meaning August will be ideal month to gain entry

Students on F or M visas are not permitted to enter the United States earlier than 30 days before the start date of their program. If you wish to enter earlier than 30 days before your start date, you must separately apply and qualify for a visitor (B) visa.

Try Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Try Michigan Technoloical University
Try North Carolina State A&T University
To the best of my knowledge wpi requires toefl from Nigerian students. But he/she can try Clarkson University, the school has everything he/she requested for but the deadline is January 31 and its in New York.

Sigh, some of you can’t just read to understand….listen, mail the school that you are a Nigerian and “what’s is the first official language language “”English””. Some school would let it slide provided you can prove to them that you are fluent in English. Here in Minnesota, if it’s this same scenario, the school offer you something called “Acuplacer”, if you get a certain score, they let you proceed… that is what I’m explaining to you.

Hello Gurus...
I have been following this trend for a long while and I have learned a whole lot silently all thanks to you all.

My case is a little peculiar and I need as much advice as I can get.

I recently got admitted for an MBA program with full tuition for my two years amounting to $92,000 and other fees covered by the school scholarship. I was also given a graduate assistantship slot. The living costs will be covered personally as I have enough saved for that.

However, I have a pending immigration petition in place by my folks.

How do I convince a V.O that I am returning? I sincerely intend to regardless of my petition as I have two startups that are doing well and the essence of the MBA is to have global knowledge of how things can be applied here.

Guy, be civil in a public space. That's the difference between you and the other guy.

I just attached what I saw on the official website. I'm not even interested in the school to start with. There is a difference between native language and official language.

I guess it's you that needs to read to understand. undecided

Hello people,

Please can you help with names of universities in the US that have high acceptance for international students (Nigerians) and with funding opportunities.

I don't want to start wasting time and funds on unis that will reject. I want to apply to about 4 and hope for one or more to pull through.

Course is MBA.

Will really appreciate your responses. Thanks.
