Shell signs up for Lagos, Ogun
gas provision.

Shell Nigeria gas (SNG) has signed a deal to provide gas to industrial and manufacturing companies in Lagos and Ogun states.

The deal will run for 20 years, it said. SNG has signed the agreement with Nigerian gas Marketing Corp. (NGMC). Shell will also extend its distribution network into Badagry.
“This agreement will enable local industries to thrive and create employment opportunities for Nigerians. We look forward to continuing to grow domestic gas distribution to industries and manufacturing plants in Ogun State and other parts of Nigeria while unleashing the industrial potential of Badagry,” SNG’s managing director Ed Ubong said.

Ubong said the agreement would help increase domestic gas use in Nigeria. He highlighted the industrialisation boom for Agbara, Igbesa and Ota areas of Ogun.

Shell Nigeria’s country chair Osagie Okunbor said the deal would provide “tremendous benefits to the economy”. Shell’s work in Nigeria will “continue to turn Nigeria’s domestic gas opportunities into reality through our strategic intent to develop enough gas to meet our current commitments and future growth plans”.
SNG signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Oyo State in October 2020. The company agreed to develop a master plan for gas and also construct distribution facilities.

The company said it has gas and infrastructure deals covering more than 150 customers, primarily in Ogun, Abia, Oyo, Rivers, Bayelsa and Lagos. In 2019, SNG said it was supplying 100 customers, in Ogun, Abia and Rivers states.

While Shell has withdrawn from some of its onshore assets, offshore production and gas utilisation projects still seem to appeal. The company is working on the Assa North gas development in Imo State, part of the $700 million ANOH plan. Shell’s partner Seplat Petroleum expects first gas at the project in the last quarter of 2021.

Assa North-Ohaji South Project
gas will be treated at the primary treatment facility (PTF) to be located between the existing Assa North-1 surface drilling centre and the Assa flow station. The facility is estimated to have a capacity of 600Mmscf/d gas and 45,000bbl/d of condensate.

The PTF will comprise two 300Mmscfd gas dehydration facilities, 15 wellheads, associated flowlines for H1 and H4 wells, NAG inlet facilities for H1 and H4 wells, and other facilities. The stabilised liquids are proposed to be stored at the four 100,000bbl tanks.

The processing plant will comprise two Thompson trains with a turndown capacity of 50%. It will also feature a 20,000bbl/d two-train condensate plant, which is capable of recovering 1,200bbl/d of LPG.

Of the total gas production, 300Mmscfd will be processed at the new gas processing plant owned by the SPDC JV, while the remaining gas will be processed at the proposed processing plant by SEPLAT Petroleum.

The processed gas will be transported to the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) and West African gas Pipeline (WAGP) through a 26km-long spur line connecting to the OB3 pipeline. The produced LPG will be trucked directly to Owerri, while the condensate will be exported to either Shell Bonny and or ENI’s Brass River terminal....

SE region is unproductive economically and we Yorubas are making use of the gas from the erosion ravaged region to service the industrial Powerhouse of Nigeria in Ogun and Lagos.

You are not giving the gas for free as you can see those companies are paying for it and we hope your governors can use the revenue from that to provide water for people in Enugu & also clean up the filthy Abia even tho the gas is from Imo. You see the SW are their brother’s keeper.

We have been pumping that gas since God knows when and the vituperation from you guys can’t stop it. You can only whine online while we continue to pump the gas to Ogun & Lagos. So stop wasting your unproductive time online crying over spilled milk.

Lastly, every sane thinking person know the troublesome tribe on Nairaland who hates every other tribe but themselves so your claim of some imaginary Yoruba breaking some accord can only fool people from Upper Iweka.

I wonder how illiterate people in the country are. We keep on hearing the same news year after year with different chapters no progress

Lol but you know the SE is unproductive which is why the Ibos keep running away from the zone like it’s a war torn region.

Ask yourself why most of the well-to-do igbos are domiciled outside the SE and the money they send back home is what is still helping the region because economically it is the least productive region in the South. This is an objective truth from reputable economic sources.

You shouldn’t cry over everything, learn to face the truth.

I love SE gas and I’m very sure the Ogun & Lagos Industries also love it. There is nothing you can do about it except to be bitter online while we pump it continuously.

Tell me bro, will all your noise on here stop us from pumping it? So why waste your unproductive time?
