Lol... it is not baseless. It has a base. And the base is that both are Defensive minded players. Both are destroyers. Only difference is that Onyeka plays the role of a roaming Destroyer and high presser at Brentford while Ndidi sits in front of Leicester's defence. But truly from Onyeka's days at FCM in Denmark, he is a CDM who mirrors many of what Ndidi does. How you don't understand this shows you don't know Onyeka's playing history. I have done extensive and intensive research into these lads. Even while I was on my sabbatical from this thread, I still took time to follow them and keep up to date. drDoom3: 1 Like 1 Share |

There will be games Onyeka needs to start. But there will also be games where he needs to sit on the bench coz Ndidi is number 1 at CDM. Onyeka is naturally his backup right now. And a misfit is gonna rep you and all of us at the Afcon. I guess that makes all of us misfits right? Lol Papi85: 1 Like |

andrewbaba44:Hmmm,Andrew digging into archives sometimes, some would be surprised making such damn statement but guess what some comment have hidden agenda that was known to the writer but it will only take a very intelligent person to uncover the real motives behind such comment. When i saw that comment on Awoniyi I just read it and moved on cos it was totally uncalled for.....I remeber Sadiq terrible season with Ranger in scottish league but did you see any condemnable post on Sadiq cos he can come good in the future......Nwakili till today has not prove anything as a professional player but did you see such a terrible post on him, except normal football criticisms cos we believe he has the talent but very unfortunate with his early football development. That remark on Awoniyi was damn too much and murdered the poor boy as a footballer, not criticism but total killing of a spirit of a young man trying to make it out as a footballer. The same Awoniyi is doing well now and I hope he does it with style in coming Afcon with the likes of Sadiq,Nwakili,Olayinka,Ndah cos people are waiting for their performances to nail Eguavoen. 8 Likes |

TheSuperNerd: And that is why we will need energetic players who can wrest control of the midfield, not jololo players who are not strong and have poor work rate but can "command a midfield" and "lead the attack from behind". All this focus on creativity from the midfield is tiring to hear. Nigeria has never depended on creativity from midfield, our creativity has always been from the wings. Nigeria is blesed with excellent wingers who can drift to the middle and create chances. Now we want to be playing De Bruyne slide rule passes from deep midfield when we don't have the players to execute it. 6 Likes |

TheSuperNerd: Nwakali will have to prove his mettle before this conclusion can be reached because he is still a greenhorn as long as the senior national team is concerned. Mind you, this isn't doubting his abilities, but being factual. First step - Give him a shot, if he does well, continue with him, otherwise, try other options. 2 Likes |

humility33: I saw many of your posts asking why Nwakali was not yet in Camp and I wondered to myself why you didn't know that he had a game on Jan.2 while you were hurt crying out, calling him unserious and all sorts. See Humility, you have to learn to verify things before you spill. Coz it's funny when you make statements only to be shown how out of place that statement actually is. Lol And I can tell that you haven't watched Nwakali at all in recent times. So what gives you the confidence to talk about him this way? A player you haven't watched or assessed recently to reach these conclusions? Here are his sofascore ratings of the last 5-6 games leading up to Jan.2. I guess they are the ratings of a sluggish lazy ass player. 2 Likes 1 Share

TheSuperNerd: Ndidi does not high press. He does not roam. His job is simple. Sit in front of the defense. Stop attacks. Stop counters. Once he stops an attack, pass to CM or AM and stay back. That is nowhere near Onyeka's job description. 3 Likes |

Explain why Partey, an EPL midfielder alongside Addo, a UCL midfielder with Sheriff Tiraspol couldn't wrestle Midfield control from Zerrouki plying his trade in Holland and from Zorgane of Charleroi earlier today. Partey was the highest profile MF on display today in that friendly but he couldn't do Jack with his power and physicality. Explain why. drDoom3: 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd:oga this stat u are flaunting is not relevant at all. Getting such rating against 2nd tier teams is no big deal Ok if I may ask how many man of the match award has he gotten after the good ratings each match? How many goals and assist has he amassed in over a dozen games he has played for huesca this season? |

Kog45: Ndidi-Aribo-Iwobi has been tested and the result often came out negative, hence the urge to get Nwakali aboard the ship, to try to utilize Aribo's new found mojo as an AM, while Nwakali conducts as Ndidi shields. I would bench Iwobi |

TheSuperNerd:Sir,it's a pity that young highly rated Nwakili then find himself in this situation,so expect lashing, his last six matches cannot be used to rate the young man.....Kelechi Nwakili should thank Eguavoen for this golden opportunity, now left for him to prove doubters wrong. 1 Like |

Chris. We have been lacking Midfield control for 2 years under Rohr. Mikel left and things fell apart in the middle. We depended heavily on the wings for our creativity and long balls from the back. It wasn't funny. I am certain that Nwakali's entrance will help bring the balance I have been crying for and why do you think Eguavoen called him up? Look, we have a goal scoring MF in Aribo. We need to utilise that. We have an elite and world class ball winner and defensive shield in Ndidi. We have a similar thing in Onyeka who is more of a pressing machine. And in Iwobi, we have an AM who can play on the wings if need be. But none of them are genuine Midfield playmakers from deep. And the beauty of having this dynamism in the middle is that we can mix things up. Also, a DLP is harder to track and press than one who plays #10. People just don't see this tactical angle. TheSuperNerd:Onyeka is no back up to ndidi because he is not a dm but a cm/box to box No Dey push am to dm position just to make space for your over hyped misfit. Onyeka is just versatile and can easily replace ndidi is need be I bet you that against Egypt eguavoen will go with the trio of ndidi,Onyeka and any of aribo or iwobi Maybe na last group game nwakali go play if the team don qualify then with a game to spare 1 Like |

Papi85: Lol.... Nwakali is not the only answer. I have been analysing and mentioning Alhassan Yusuf for a long time both here and on twitter. Another lad of interest is Abbas Ibrahim. Raphael Onyedika is not exactly a MF conductor but a ball playing CDM so he gets my mention in certain quarters too. And a few more. So you see, this is not just about Nwakali. Nwakali is the one discussed now because he will be at the Afcon. "A nightmare" I know you didn't see coming You know Charles, ...Something tells me you are just reacting this way as defence mechanism bracing up for when Nwakali drops a fine showing and shocks you. TheSuperNerd:baba I no Dey do girl things cus am a grown man who will be settling down soon so me and nwakali no be mate to drag woman Like I said and will still repeat there is no big deal getting such rating against 2nd tier teams and since he has been too hot to handle in the Spanish 2nd tier why no laliga side wants to bring him on board? Atleast em cheap die mk em no be say his case is same as umar whom almeria are demanding for a large sum before he will be allowed to leave Dem no Dey hide talent cus if nwakali is as good as he is been hyped here baba I bet you that atleast midtable laliga teams would hv snapped him up after a season in the 2nd tier with huesca Aribo whom I believe you berate is the 2nd best player in the Scottish league before the break He is rangers most influential player before the break and hv been linked with a move to the epl He has 6 goals and 4 assist so far Can you make such claim for a misfit whom you rate better than the above mentioned player? |

Kog45: Exactly how I see it, but I would be so glad if he could prove to be that jigsaw. Nothing gladdens my heart than seeing my midfield flourish while I have a potent fire power. With a good Midfield, our defense wouldn't be very much exposed as has been the case lately |

TheSuperNerd:nwakali only made the list because of eguavoen if not I doubt he would hv gained a single cap before quitting the game Now you made mention of alhassan and onyedika, 2 players who are doing very well and are meant to be understudy to nwakali judging by the promise the latter showed when the above mention duo were still in obscurity in 9ja but soon the reverse will be the case Nwakali will turn out to be an understudy to both soon with the rate they re developing |
