TheSuperNerd: Oga DR. Kessie all about power and brawn ?? Are you joking The impact he’s able to have in the middle and final thirds are too great to waste him in a defensive capacity, with his boundless energy, forward thrust and excellent movement all key parts of La Dea’s brilliant Serie A season Raw Potential One thing to note from those two games is that he doesn’t shrink from contests; Kessie will stay true to the way he plays and force himself back into form. That way of playing, when it works, can be devastating. For now, you can accept that a 20-year-old can have disappointing games now and again. Credit: Sky Calcio No matter how it’s going, Kessie works extremely hard, shuttles up and down the pitch and tracks back diligently. He identifies the players he needs to track quickly and sticks to them, utilising great speed to keep up and great strength to jockey with them. He seems remarkably effective in 50-50 duels; he nearly always ends up with the ball once he enters such a contest. He’s happy to receive possession in tight spaces, and his one-touch passing keeps Atalanta’s midfield tempo high. Given La Dea have a speedster in Alejandro Gomez operating as a left-sided forward, the ability to maintain momentum is vital, as all the good work he does could easily go to waste should his colleagues take too many touches. Kessie tends to play as a No. 8 in a 3-4-3 (or 3-4-2-1), operating alongside a partner. His runs from deep with the ball are good, his passing is decent and he understands the importance of his role. When shifted forward to make a difference, he takes up good positions just outside the opposition area and often finds himself on top of loose balls The above excerpt is from bleachers report ( one of the greatest sport site on earth) Kessie is a dynamic player; every Manager's dream he fit in perfectly to any system. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2684923-franck-kessie-fits-chelseas-style-perfectly-but-doesnt-upgrade-the-xiyet 5 Likes |

forgiveness: Relax Egbon... Now also answer this. How many Assists and Goals did Modric have to win the Ballon D'or, Fifa The Best and UEFA Best Player in Europe awards in 2018? How many for Real Madrid across that entire season? And how many at the WC for Croatia in 2018? Going holistic is fine sometimes but breaking things down is finer and clearer. 4 Likes 1 Share

drDoom3: Precisely. I always have ideas for it. There was a time in the Girona game I wished I could give Nwakali some info. It is all about zones to me now. Got that from Eguavoen's video. When your team loses the ball. Even if the ball is far, start tracking back. This will reduce the time spent chasing. Also close the midfield and defense too. Eguavoen used to be defender and I believe he has the strategy to get the team to defend efficiently as a unit. 1 Like |

I just hope everyone that gets the chance to play pours their heart out for the country, that's all the fans want to see win or lose. |

Super eagles cannot replace Odion Ighalo if his club will not release him for afcon. I have limit my expectations as regards the team ahead of the tournament no experience number 9 that will lead our attack in that squad going to afcon |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 9:44am On Jan 06, 2022 |
No I am actually not. Kessie is more power and physical plays. He drives forward with his power. Gives simple passes (nothing out of the ordinary), takes up position outside the box to hit shots. And uses his strength pretty well in duels. And he is also a Penalty merchant. Yaya Toure was wayyyy more. Much more. Why do you think Milan got Tonali? Or why they have Bennacer? Man abeg. TheSuperNerd: Really though, I am assuming you are joking here. Because if this is all you see in Kessie's game then man, I don't know what to say. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though that maybe you've not watched enough of his games to really give a detailed analysis. |

TheSuperNerd: I brought a report from bleachers report Below is an excerpt The impact he’s able to have in the middle and final thirds are too great to waste him in a defensive capacity, with his boundless energy, forward thrust and excellent movement all key parts of La Dea’s brilliant Serie A season All d attribute being attributed to him; boundless energy, forward thrust, and excellent movement are all attribute of a technical and skillful player. Kessie is a more rounded and robust player( infact I call him a general midfielder) he fits in any Manager's style,He is just been wasted at AC Milan, he was fully utilized by Coach Massimo Drago at Atlanta. The truth is there is no central midfielder currently as technical and well rounded like kessie in the super eagles if you check the link with the excerpt you will find video evidence with his use of good skills. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by drDoom3(m): 9:53am On Jan 06, 2022 |
drDoom3: Kessie is so good because he solves maths on the pitch. Ndidi does this too but in a different way. He anticipates where he needs to be to either stop an attack or start one himself. He can dribble out of tight situations and he calculates where the danger is and moves immediately to stop it. He knows the positions to get into to pounce on loose balls around the 18. He is such a complete box-to-box player both offensively and defensively. He is not perfect though, gets some touches wrong here and there and his passing still has a long way to go, but most of the time he doesn't put a foot wrong. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 9:55am On Jan 06, 2022 |
I have watched Kessie right from the U17 Afcon in 2013 till now. You see how long that is? . I am not saying he isn't technical. He is but not so highly so. He is more of a tactical player than technical. Lad is more brawn than brains. Not saying he doesn't have some brainy traits in his game... he does but not as high as his brawny side. And truth is, his brawny side dominates more. Lad is perfectly suited for Gra Gra football. Enough said. drDoom3: 1 Like 1 Share |

Astrid4: All this talk yet na Anguissa and Hongla wey boss him and Seri for the middle game and knocked them out of WC contention. Look, it's fine. What I have seen for years since his entry into the scene in 2013 is not what you can see with his showing in Milan colors. Ask yourself why he had no answer to the Spaniards at the Olympic Games last year? His physicality won him almost all his duels that day but the Spanish MFs still balled him and his MF lieutenants off the park. Why didn't power win over technical nous that day? Look, Let's rest it here abeg. Won't say more on this. 5 Likes 3 Shares

drDoom3: You can train it in days. It is just adopting to the tactics. Remember it took Tuchel one training session to transform Chelsea to have one of the best passing stats in the history of the Premier league. If Eguavoen can make them understand zone theory and how to defend spaces, they can easily get better at it. The long time comes to mastering but for now, they need the basics and their play will dramatically improve. |

Modric scored 2 goals and assisted once in 7 games in the World Cup. In addition, won 3 motm and won golden ball. All these as a CM. Please take note. Modric recorded 2 goals and 8 assists for the entire 2017/2018 season in 43 matches as a central Midfield player for Real Madrid. He also recorded 2 goals and only 1 assist in 7 starts at the WC that same season. Now, that was a Ballon D'or, FIFA The Best and Uefa Best player in Eurooe awards-winning season for Luka Modric. Shocking from a statistical POV isn't it? Point made on Modric. Now on Nwakali, please Transfermrkt can get positions right several times for major leagues but they can mix things up oftentimes for 2nd tiers and some other obscure leagues and occasionally even Top leagues. I know this because I saw every Nwakali game in a Huesca shirt up until January 2nd, 2022. He's played mostly as a Central Midfield player, mostly deeplying and centrally, for Huesca this season. He was almost always falling deep to conduct plays. He has only stayed as an AM for a longer portion of a game a few times like in his last game vs Girona on Jan 2nd. If you want proof, check his Sofascore heatmaps for some of those games Transfermrkt listed him as an AM and see the positional errors. And then check his heatmap for his last game. Totally different for the most parts. So you see... Eye test tells the story better. Not Transfermrkt ref which can be wrong sometimes. forgiveness: 1 Like 1 Share |

ChrisKels:Sadiq is a good striker with a little deft touch of Kanu while Awoniyi is a poacher, who is beginning to gain more confidence in front of goal, not really as aggressive as Osimehn. Sir,Sadiq Umar miss scoring chances than Taiwo Awoniyi. Sure we will miss Osimehn but Eguavoen should play to the strength of the strikers available. 1 Like |

If I have my way, from what I heard about Eguavoen’s philosophy (if true), I will play Nwakali in a 3 man defense alongside Ndidi and Onyeka. So that we can be balance in midfield and also use Nwakali’s ability to throw long passes. Hence, he will play slightly ahead of the Ndidi and Onyeka, and at the same time give him freedom to move around. But if not, Aribo should be the 3rd man in the midfield. This will be my team. .......................................Uzoho/Okoye .Aina......Ekong .....Omerua....Zaidu ..............Ndidi.................Onyeka......... ..........................Nwakali/Aribo Chuks................Awoniyi..’...Ejuke/Olayinka 1 Like |
