Manchester United Announces New Chief Executive Officer by Jiggyronnie: 2:33pm On Jan 06, 2022
Manchester United has announced that Richard Arnold, formerly Group Managing Director, will become Chief Executive Officer of the Club, effective from 1st February 2022.

Ed Woodward will step down from his role as Executive Vice-Chairman, also effective from 1st February 2022.

Richard Arnold said: “I am honoured to have the chance to serve this great club and its fans. I am determined to return that honour in any way I can.”

Joel Glazer, Executive Co-Chairman, said: “I would like to thank Ed for his tireless work on behalf of Manchester United during his nine years as Executive Vice-Chairman and 16 years with the club.

“We are now looking forward to Richard and his leadership team opening a new phase in the club’s evolution, with ambitious plans for investment in Old Trafford, the strengthening of our engagement with fans, and continued drive towards our most important objective – winning on the pitch.”

I sincerely hope that this new CEO has brighter ideas than Ed Woodward, Man Utd desperately need a new spark to ignite something new!

First order of business: offload the 17 overpaid crybaby players in the club, who told the media they're unhappy and want Ralf Rangnick gone.

Take a cue from Chelsea; see how quickly they humbled Lukaku. The same Lukaku who, while still under contract at Man Utd, left England for Italy in the middle of the season.

It's about time the club takes a firm stand & set its players straight: "If you don't like it here, GET OUT!"

Ole is a useless coach; he had no tactics and groveled to the players, further spoiling them.

Ralf, on the other hand, hasn't been able to implement his playstyle because the players aren't willing to change, the useless lot.

You know it takes a world class Manager to instill discipline in some of these 'big name' players... Fergie-Beckham row comes to mind. Same thing happened with Rooney, he benched him for the 2nd leg of Utd-Real Madrid match that year.
I just hope Utd invests in a world class Manager on a permanent basis after Ralf.
I don't see Utd making top four this season, so we need a world class Manager to attract big names to Utd next season without the attraction of Champs League.
And I mean a Manager who has a pedigree of winning trophies every season, and with an attacking style of play

Richard Arnold will replace Ed Woodward as Manchester United's most senior executive on 1 February.
Woodward stated his intention to leave his role as executive vice-chairman last spring amid the fallout from the doomed European Super League project.
Arnold, 50, joined United in August 2007 and has been the club's managing director since 2013.
He will become chief executive in a change of title from Woodward.
"I would like to thank Ed for his tireless work on behalf of Manchester United during his nine years as executive vice-chairman and 16 years with the club," said United co-chairman Joel Glazer.
"We are now looking forward to Richard and his leadership team opening a new phase in the club's evolution, with ambitious plans for investment in Old Trafford, the strengthening of our engagement with fans, and continued drive towards our most important objective - winning on the pitch."
Woodward's time in charge has not been a successful one.
He replaced David Gill in 2013 when the club won the last of its 20 league titles. Since then, United have suffered an alarming fall in status.
In that time they won the FA Cup in 2016, plus the Europa League and EFL Cup in 2017.
However, they have failed to mount a realistic challenge on either the Premier League title or the Champions League and in November, Woodward sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager, the fourth time he has been forced to dismiss his own appointment ahead of schedule.
Arnold has been in charge of day-to-day operations at Old Trafford and is widely credited with building bridges with United's major fans groups. In his previous role as commercial director, he was viewed as one of the biggest influences behind the club's huge commercial growth.
"I am honoured to have the chance to serve this great club and its fans," he said. "I am determined to return that honour in any way I can."
Woodward will remain on the football club board until the end of the season, which will involve attending a couple of meetings.
However, he will not stay on in a consultancy role as had previously been suggested.

d reason y dose players are unhappy is cuz:
* some of them are not getting playing time as Ole had promised them.

* Rangnick is not a mr nice guy like ole who had pampered them during his stay at the club.

* They are made to work harder than they did with the previous manager[some of the players complained that they leave training ground (5:00pm) which they think is not right]

* They are not used to playing under a specific setup which ragnick is making them do.

* The current situation of the club e.t.c

permit me to make reference to Chelsea they are hardworking immediately tuchel took over they all humbled themselves to him unlike the luxury players who were nicely and meekly taken care of by OLE
