I don’t need riders greeting, if you greet me i’ll gladly respond back. If i call you as a driver i’ll introduce myself and ask if you’re at the said address in order to pick you up and also confirm your destination address.

Me: Hello this is your bolt/uber driver, are you at so so place?
R: Yes
Me: According to the app it says you’re headed to so so place?
R: Yes
Me: Am on my way.

If you no answer those questions well, i won’t move. I no dey bother greet anybody cos people rude. If you dey tell me say ehnn am going to yaba and am not sure of the address blah blah i no dey come pick you oh.

Btw you don’t have to be tech savvy to read what an app is displaying. After booking your ride, the app shows you the drivers information

Name
Car Model
Car color
Car Plate number
Estimated arrival time
Where the driver is on the map

We don’t pay attention to details, that is why riders will still ask you these things over and over again. It begins to annoy you as a driver when they repeatedly ask you such information.

Some riders will even stay beside the car and be asking are you the driver, what if I just said yes and I kidnap you ?

Some will order and will just pop into the next corolla they see, what if all this kidnappers start using this mode to just look out for victims to carry... The app shows the plate number, the face and the car colour..

First thing is look out for the car name....Toyota or Honda or any as displayed to you .

Check the plate number ( in a crowded place, place a call to the driver and asked if he can just step out of the car just to make the identification easier)

Then you can confirm the face.

But no....my people over here, they won't call,...call some of they, their response will be so provoking and the next you will hear is oga follow your map, so oga can follow your map, but you can't follow the app for details.

The service is mutual, I sell you convenience and you pay me for it, so make nobody they form boss/always right for anybody.

Well said!

The driver can educate her without being rude. What if the driver is different from the picture in the app.

For security reasons, there's no crime in winding down the glass and talking with your rider before they enter the car.

From the bottom of my heart God bless you in health, wisdom . when you have wisdom you have riches.....

So many times on these forum . drivers have confirm that you can use multi drivers on a car ( fraud)
At times what the rider sees on their app is different. What they actually see in front of them
......

For safety reasons I applaud your sister.. You can't trust nobody in Nigeria. Doing festival season especially, person need to be cautious. People out there are desperate for money. And they can use all types of tricks and manner

Again I applaud your sister.. She did nothing wrong

The right reply from driver should be "Who are you?"

How do you order a ride and call a driver and the next thing is "where are you?" At least start with "I ordered a ride.........."

Most times the case of "where are u" mostly occurs in the inhap message.
Not frequently on calls

Rude? He handled it in the best possible way without saying a word.

Hoodlum drivers would have taken down their glass and told her to stop asking stupid questions.

Your sister knows how to book and she sure knows how to rate 1 star but she does not know how to check her vehicle details on the app and you're here blaming the driver that handled it in a very professional way by keeping quiet.

As I said, your sister will not ask the next driver to wind down. The driver has passed his message across and your sister has gotten it.

There is way you handle things professionally .. Do you know how many times customers will call me and ask stupid questions . Some will do like they are doing me favour because they are buying oil from me . Some will order products and not pay .

The way some of these customers talk to me some times is degrading . But I still calm down and be patient with them.

And I hate speaking with an American accent at times.i try to come down to people's level . but once I change it for them with USA accent in a firm and respectful tone of voice . They usually calm down and talk to me with more respect. So at times you have to use different approach for each customers. But overall staying calm and keeping control is the most important thing. Have worked for years in customer service industry . So my customer service skill is pretty good .....

At least your sister now knows she can check details of the car on her app and will not ask another driver to wind down his glass.

Hello house, happy new year boss we will all hit our target this year. I want to make an enquiry please I want to take a bolt/ Uber ride from Ibadan to Lagos with 4 traveling bags. My question is, will the driver allow me to carry along with me , my load and another guest. Thank you

Drivers will surely opt for offline trips from ibadan to Lagos. Be ready to pay 15-25k, depending on the driver.

If your loads aren't more than what the vehicle can contain, with prior negotiation with the driver, he should let you. Uberbolt allows luggage as long as the driver feels his car can take them.

Safe trip

You just brought a bomb to a fist fight. We're still talking about drivers that want you to greet them before they start a convo with you, same drivers that can't lower their window to speak with their riders and yet you expect them to do the bolded?

Where u wan see that one?

U've got to give unto caesar what belongs to caesar but at times c'mon, we should be able to let things slide. While I drag with a rider if he/she is still contemplating on the ride, I'll be wasting quality time. Instead of going back and forth, I'll give answers to questions asked (not necessarily all though) and move on, in the end I get paid and move on to the next.

No driver will expect to you to fish him easily in a crowded place....it's common sense and norms....

I am sure 90% of drivers will try to give you sufficient information about his actual location in a crowded area... "I am by this pole with so so so" I am the one wearing so so colour of shirt, but trust most of this riders, they will want you to fly the car to their front or the already crowded entrance they are standing.....

In so many cases you will get request from oniru beach and they will expect you to drive into the oniru premises, something that's not possible on crowded evening or night...explain to some of them to come out, you will hear me, I can't come out o.....

The bottom line is that 80% of riders are to lazy to study the app and make better use of it, that why some drivers take advantage of paid waiting.

Sometimes you will lie to a rider you are in his/her street, that you are far and he/she will buy it... One day I got a request going to somewhere in ajah, i was looking for trip to mainland, before I could even cancel, call came in and I just used the line," I am far from you" the white guy at the other end replied "you are in my street, just few meters away" I had to just tell him that I am sorry that I am looking for a trip to the mainland.

My school of thought Is, I pick you, give you good service, collect my money and move, I don't need your greetings, I will greet you when I meet you .... But if you carry craze come my way, I will treat you like a psychiatrist.

Lol. Feli. I have vowed never to honour request from these clowns that use foreign numbers on Uber. Specifically, US and UK numbers. Mostly stupid Nigerians that think that there's something special about them.

I no wan wey person wey dey UK dey wash dead body for mogue or dey clean old people bum bum come dey form with stupid accent for me. And they are quick to report to Uber over flimsy stuffs.

I dealt with two real bad last week. Uber blocked me. I no send, there's Bolt. They still unblocked themselves after a few days.

Thumbs up bro... Lile konadapo said we need to change the narrative and orient these riders in any way possible.

I made sure he read my chat b4 u cancelled the ride.

But this life no hard what's there in lowering your window for someone you can at least allow to enter your car... At times we tight the world too much to our chest. What's there in asking me where are you I even love that question so I can tell you my location I'll you same question too so GPS won't take me to the back of your house or take me to a locked gate, and wanting to see my face is not offensive to me I see it as normal thing them no be zombie naw for this Nigeria one needs to be careful.
73O9:

This is the more reason they will see any car parked at their location and just open without verifying details.

So even the vehicle parked happened to be a personal car with someone sitting in it, she will still ask the occupant to lower the window to ask silly question?

Continue defending what doesn't make sense.

If you have your own car
You are good to go no fear but if it’s rental/hp you must drive like ants before you make a living and you will definitely break down and the car will not remain the same trust me.

But let me state this for other newbies reading. if you don’t have job or other source of income, pls get a car on rentals/ Hp and start hustling... it’s better than seating at home begging,
We newbies probably plenty for here. You can see that from the number of likes on this post. grin
Thanks very much, boss. More wisdom.
To drive like ants noted. grin
