Hi everyone,

Perhaps a glimmer of hope for some. I sent another email today and I got a response to say that a decision has been made on my husband's application and we should receive the passport within 10 working days. Prior to this, all emails had stated that the application was still awaiting review. Praying for the best outcome.

Application was done over 50 WD ago.

Thanks very much Amelia, I have sent them email now and how long are they going to response ? Note this is my first email

Good evening everyone. Please those that are not vaccinated, are they allowed to travel to the uk presently? If yes, would they have to quarantine in the govt hotel?

Yes, unvaccinated people are currently allowed into the UK and they must quarantine at their preferred accommodation. Not government hotel.

Decision was made on my application on 14th Dec. Got my passport back through UPS 30th Dec.

P.S- I applied in Canada and the process took 48 working days

Debbieeeeeee:

I’ll start counting the ten working days for yesterday since I don’t know the exact date and time a decision was made

You're most welcome :-) The first time we reached out, they responded within 48 hours. Subsequently, they have typically responded within a day. The most recent conversation, they responded within an hour. So, give or take a few hours.

Please House, I need your help.
My brother did biometrics in October, 2021 and collected his passport yesterday 6th January.
The issue is, I advised him to go to ikeja when we couldn't receive any decision on his application. Now the passport is empty with no mail received till now.

Any advice on what to do?

If the passport is empty and he did not get a refusal email nor did he withdraw his application, let him call UKVI and give them his GWF and it will be escalated as the decision on his application did not get to him. If the visa was granted but due to human error they did not attach the sticker to the passport, someone will reach out to him and he will be told where to bring his passport to.

From the 7 Jan, Fully vaccinated passengers are not required to take a test pre departure to the UK. They will still need to test on arrival but can choose a lateral flow test as opposed to a PCR test.

Unvaccinated regulations remain the same- https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-to-england-from-another-country-during-coronavirus-covid-19

thank you for the reply

Second UK Visa application for me, first for my wife.

I didn't even use the first one I got in Feb 2021 cos of the stringent Covid protocols (tests, quarantine etc) due to the numbers of days (7 days) I intended to spend in the UK.

Hello people, please I need your advice. This week I was invited to an event that holds in the UK at the end of this month. It would be my first time visiting the UK, but I have attended a few conferences in the US (pre-pandemic) and I also went on vacation in the Maldives last year. I know visitor visas can be fast-tracked but when I checked TLSContact it seems the super priority visa service is temporarily not available. Now I'm not sure what to do. If I start a normal application now, is there any chance I can get the visa and my passport back before the 28th which is the latest I can fly out for the event? Should I wait a little and hope that the priority services will come back sometime in the next few days or should I just tell the organisers that I won't be able to make it? Thanks
