Whoever wins 2007 presidential election, do you think EFCC has any chance of survival? My own view is that it will be scrapped so quick Nuhu Ribadu will doubt EFCC ever existed. |

In my own opinion, I think it will be sad to see EFCC disbanded after the 2007 election. Currently, I see EFCC as "work in progress" and I believe that with a strong commitment with the government, this organization will only continue to get better. What will be the benefit of scraping such an organization, when you can work on improve what you currently have? |

@ DANFO:Excellent topic. Definitely, the EFCC should be retained and they should also be restructured. Instead of an image of a one man show, they should be reconstituted into a group concept, that embraces fairness, accurateness, human rights law and professionalism. Personally, I would prefer them to draw toward the image of American FBI doctrine; a doctrine that commands respect, integrity, nonpartisanship, and veridicality. If they could follow these steps, EFCC as a group will be on top of their game and will be untouchable under any circumstances. May God bless Nigeria. 1 Like |

Remember Nigeria is a democracy now. The next president can't abolish the EFCC without the approval of the National Assembly, who have demonstrated in the last few years that they are prepared to do their constitutional role of checking and balancing the executive. 1 Like |

Well, it has been a while, and EFCC still exists...though the political class has somehow defanged it a bit. Still, yahoo boys are really under pressure. |

SadiqBabaSani: Perhaps, but they come from Nigerians, and Nigerians aren't ready to let their favorite politician be prosecuted by EFCC. In 2009, millions of Nigerians prevented James Ibori from being arrested by EFCC. What does that tell you? |
