Congratulations!
It can only be God.

girl002:
Long post but I am certain this will encourage someone.

I started my study visa journey in 2019. I had wanted to go to Fanshewe College and so I contacted an agent from the list I got from the college. The agent I spoke to told me I didn't have a chance because I am 37 years old, I have just a BSC and my salary isn't up to 1m. My study gap is 16 years.
He told me he could help get the admission but he can assure me I won't get a visa.
I was very sad hearing what he said but I didn't allow it affect me.

I went online and started doing my research. I applied to three colleges. 2 offered me admission and 1 denied me. I picked 1 from the offer I got and applied for a visa myself. I didn't use any agent.

I got a medical request and IRCC said my medicals wasn't submitted by Qlife. I contacted Qlife and said they had transmitted the result and can't do it twice. I went into prayers and eventually my medical was updated to pass after 2 months and then the wait began.

Applied 15th August
Medical request 15th Sept
Medical updated to pass 15th Nov
PPR 6th Jan.

I just want to encourage those that are yet to apply, to please do so and those waiting, I wish you all the best. I summarized the journey but if you wish to ask any question, please feel free to contact me on queenlumidee@gmail.com.
Where do I get the consent form please. I need a direct link

Thank you all

Congrats again and thanks for sharing.
May Canada favour you.
Akanoa:
LANDING GIST,
Happy new year dear Nairaland family. I am very sorry this is coming late Nairaland Family but I still hope this would be useful for those travelling soon.
Travelling date: 24 - 26 December 2021.
Flight: KLM Lagos to Amsterdam to Vancouver to Calgary
Documents taken along: Enrollment letter
Tuition receipt
ArriveCan receipt
Vaccination card
Letter of Acceptance
Covid 19 test result
Letter of Approval/ Introduction letter
Travel support letter from the school
My flight was for 10:00 pm on the 24th of December 2021 KLM from Lagos. I got to the airport around 2:00 pm. As I entered the airport, I was directed to NDLEA where they did not bother to search me. Next I moved to the agricultural declaration unit where I was asked to pay 2k because I only had a bag containing foodstuffs. I went to weigh my bags and they overweighed the allowed 32 kg each. I had to shuffle stuffs around and also paid for 2 extra bags. I will advise you weigh your bags before leaving for the airport.
Check-in for KLM started by 5:00 pm so it's advisable you get to the airport early because the queue no be for here. I was asked for my enrollment letter, arrivecan, covid test result and also tuition receipt at the Lagos airport by the airline officer. He wasn't convinced so I was asked to login to my school portal to confirm the documents I presented. Everything went smoothly from there from immigration to boarding the flight to Amsterdam.
At Amsterdam, I had a layover of 8 hours but it didn't feel that long maybe because there was wifi. I wasn't asked to present plenty plenty documents at Immigration, just my passport and covid test result. The flight from Amsterdam to Vancouver was really long, more than 9 hours and I was unable to sleep. Towards the end of the flight I was feeling sick but the flight went well. I will advise you rest well before travelling to Canada because the journey is quite stressful.
At Vancouver airport, I had to use the self service machine which was quite easy to use. I took the printed receipt to immigration and I was cleared to go to CBSA to get my study permit. Since it was Christmas, the officers weren't much. I was asked for my passport and letter of approval and my study permit was printed. No questions at the border and also no arrival test even though I had preregistered with switch health. I had to board another flight to Calgary and also Vancouver wasn't cold at all that day.
The west jet flight to Calgary was delayed until midnight so I just explored the airport, the airport big die. At Calgary airport, I wasn't asked to present any documents maybe because it was a domestic flight. No covid testing at Calgary airport also. I went to pick my bags but one was unfortunately missing so I had to spend some extra time at the airport. At this point I was more than exhausted because I haven't slept for close to 36 hours just taking paracetamol due to the constant headache. By the time I was done at the airport I was greeted by the almighty Canada winter grin. Words cannot quantify the severity of the cold here.
For those travelling soon and you are scared of how to know your way around the airport, don't worry you will be fine. Just follow others as you leave the plane and also ask people if you are confused though there are clear sighs to help you to your boarding gates.
For those that just got their pprs, congratulations to you all and may Canada favor us all. And to those still waiting, it will end in praise. Also to those refused, kindly sit up, order your notes and refire. Even though I just got here, I can attest that Canada is worth all the wait.
My sincere apologies once again for posting this late. Thank you.

Please, I would like to know the documents required of a cousin who wants to stand as a co- sponsor with my dad. He's into different businesses. Also, what are the things to do to prove he's really sponsoring my education in Canada without paying tuition fee for now?

Please, I need an urgent response. Thanks.

You cousin should give you his bank statement, affidavit of sponsorship, birth certificate or international passport, cac of businesses, receipts to prove source of funds in his account to avoid lump sum issues

You cousin must show commitment towards his intentions of sponsoring you either by paying part of your tuition and making it known on the affidavit of sponsorship or sending at least your living expense $10,000cad or less into your own account. Either ways, it should be mentioned on his affidavit of support and your SOP.

The bolded boss...why is that

makano:
Hello MercyFounbdme

To the bolded.

If truly IRCC stated it and it has expired, you will have to send it to them via email or webform to avoid delay in them asking for it...

Once you upload it, once its time for them to ask, instead of asking, they will just upload it and that will hasten your final decision..

Personally, I do not advise applicant send documents to IRCC when they have not requested for it, but in your own case they have already stated it has expired, meaning soon they will request for it, so you can send it to them before they request for it.. Cos it may take weeks before they request for it which will result in the delay of your Final decision, so send it to them asap with your drafted LOE and receipts to back up your claim..

It will end in praise..

Peace

If you are a self sponsored applicant you need to pay attention to your application even more. I am a photographer and I was self sponsored with no scholarships. I payed half of my first year tuition and also had enough funds in my account for my remaining one and a half year tuition with living expenses for two years. Because I am a photographer I think I had to show that I had the whole money for my tuition saved as nobody would be here to continue my business even though I told them I had a studio here that’ll continue functioning after I’ve left. I also got rejected twice as my gcms notes said they didn’t think spending that much money to study photography was worth it and blah blah blah with some other things like family ties and all that so I had to switch my course to film making and explain from the angle of how nollywood is really growing and the need for more film makers in Nigeria and all that. I also spoke about how there are no good film schools in Nigeria and Africa in general compared to what’s available in Canada in my SOP. I still got rejected sha and because I knew my application was strong I did a judicial review, settled out of court and got my visa.

I also submitted a lot of invoices from work I have done for clients and also submitted the receipts for my camera gear I own just to show that I am really invested in my business. I submitted my business registration (very important) then submitted 3 account statements. One personal, one business and one was a fixed deposit type account with all my study funds in it. For my account statements I used the my VISA bank statement thing so I didn’t have to print out all my bank statements. I just got the slip and uploaded them.

I used my parents and siblings as family ties and didn’t submit any land documents and all that as I no get. I also spoke about how I have an established photography business here that I’ll be coming back to.
I submitted my waec certificate but I no go uni so I didn’t have that to submit. I think that was the only educational document I submitted. I also submitted a police report.

Anyway if you are self sponsored I think you have to show you have enough money for at least two years to be on the safe side. I’m not saying this applies to everyone as visas are granted based on the officers discretion.

I hope this helps somebody out there.

Bro please my last question did you do all this yourself because in mine I use an agent my school started 3 this month fall ending of the year but no news yet from them as my school start time already pass don’t know if im being scammed or I should have a little patient

Thank you so much chief for always, However , we submitted the application on the 3rd of November, Can i still go ahead and disturb their life? I mean IRCC

Thanks

makano:
Hello Kokolanre

The conditions for a refund are :

1. If your study permit has been refused.
2. If you are not unable to start your studies..

And I am sure non of these conditions applies to you, so you will need to send a message to the school before the deadline that you have not gotten a final decision yet from IRCC and that is actually what is causing the delay and also you are still very much interested and able to start your studies... You can put this in your own way, I am just hinting you on what to reply the school..

At the same time keep sending IRCC disturbing messages, we have seen applicants disturbing IRCC with multiple messages day and night and they got their approvals asap, so you can also do same..

After sending to the school, you keep sending to IRCC everyday and night until you get what you want..

Send 5 mails daily and 3 mails in the night with the subject "URGENT with your application number".

It will end in praise

Peace

While you await the response of the gurus, Its not advisable you move forward with the program mentioned cos their qualification is lesser than your already achieved academic qualification.

Based on your English Degree and your 5 years work experience in JOURNALISM, you are good to go for a PG. CERT program related to media , journalism , communication, film production.

That being said, take your time to visit the links below and do your research on each programs, check the program overview, course curriculum (course outline of the program) admission intakes, tuition amount for international students etc. then apply for the one that suites you based on your academic background and work experience

Your Response to the questions below would enable you to get a response on the type of PG.Cert program at a College you should go for

- what did you studied in the university ?

- what year did you graduate ? (to address study gap)

- Do you have a job? If yes, what is the name of your Job, and what are your Job duties? (to know if your Job is related to your Degree)

- How many years work experience do you have in that Job?

- Is your Job related to what you studied in the University?

Do I need to send again those documents like my marriage cert, transcript, cac e.t.c OR just address the VO concern with a reference to the initial visa application number when am sending my new LOE.

Good evening everyone, and happy new year! Please I would like the gurus in the house to please assist with my situation.

My husband applied to Northern College in Ontario yesterday, Supply Chain Management (B307S). Shortly later in the night, he received a mail saying his application was not successful. The reason given was that " Previous education does not meet admissions requirements". We were surprised though, because we believed his petroleum engineering degree should qualify him for.

We have been searching for a program in Supply Chain management and logistics in Canadian colleges since yesterday. We haven't been able to find a suitable one that his BSc petroleum engineering would qualify him for.

Just now, we discovered Humber College. I need you gurus to please advise if my petroleum engineering degree would qualify for a Supply Chain management program in the college. Also, would a PGD from Humber college qualify him for an Ontario PNP nomination when the time comes?

If you have a legal permit being in sweden, the police certificate should be from there though police certificate is not mandatory.

Ties to nigeria should be family, properties and businesses.

Hello bro..

Paying was very easy all thanks to Access Bank..

I used my sister's Access Bank Visa Card. And it was successful. I got debited in seconds.

If you know anyone that has Access Visa Card, then give it a trial.

And I applied during the day. On a normal hot afternoon in November

If that doesn't still work, then you'll have to try someone trustworthy outside the shores of Naija to help you pay.

Or you can use Barter by Flutter wave. (very expensive)

Good luck bro.

You applied for your gcms noite and the bolded was the VO's comment. If yes, then you are to reapply with the same documents attaching a clearer copy of your statements and proof of source of lump sums either with a gift deed or sales receipts(if you are a business person- You will need to include the CAC of such business). Furthermore as a re-applicant, you might be denied for other reasons like Purpose of visit or hometies, so be sure to ensure your sop is tight and convincing.
