to me the issue is these African players leave at once and in their numbers

Imagine having 5 African players in your starting 11
I thought there was plans sometime back to shift it to June.

A
Akpeyi is a decent goalkeeper.

I don't know what you expect, but he is decent. Even the great Enyeama had his own gaffes as our keeper, so, what are you on about?

I think some of you have a warped idea of the scorelines Nigeria used to have and that is why you constantly attack some of these goalies. Even Ezenwa, as shaky as he was, was a decent goalkeeper for us.

The only true calamity we have had between the sticks in recent times, is Agbim.

Na true sha ,Ezenwa was decent for us to be sincere

Me that I said Maduka is not that good still want him as our number 1 ahead of all our GKs

If I can be okay with akpeyi then I will be okay with a young Maduka, afcon will be a good experience for him

Yet no proof

I don’t think a certain country or club currently doesn’t like African players as of recent ,maybe apart from zenith st petersbourg

There have been more racism in the epl and seria A than even the Spanish league ,but even with that we can’t say the epl doesn’t like black players

For the last time what’s your reason of saying the Spanish league doesn’t like black players ?
according to transfer market
https://www.transfermarkt.com/wettbewerb/startseite/wettbewerb/ES1
There are 519 players playing in Spanish Laliga at the moment and the number of African players in total are not up to 15.

Up to 10 teams do not have a single African player.

Maduka is not that good but I am okay with him

If I can be okay with akpeyi then I can be okay with anybody

I will agree Maduka is good if he makes crucial saves this afcon ,something akpeyi did self

How many games have Maduka even been tested and makes crucial saves ?

People hardly hate on oyinbo players on this thread self ,so I won’t agree with you saying people don’t like Maduka ,there is nothing to hate about Maduka ,he is a very cool guy and dedicated to the eagles .
I'm not saying he's hated. I'm saying he's underrated and people don't take him seriously. Like a Himbo.

This is still not a proof bro’s

Epl might have more foreigners doesn’t mean others don’t like black players

Epl is expected to have more foreigners because its the most marketable league and the richest league in the whole world

Modified :

I went through the list again, the number of Teams with African players are more than 10.

The African big star players playing in Laliga are mostly morrocan immigrants and maybe the togolese captain with Getafe and maybe 2 with Villarreal.

If you still think this is not enough to conclude that Laliga teams don't like African players.... Hmmmm

Ikenga is not actually the physical representation of uk "chi."

In fact , Ikenga is more prominent in the Northern Igbo or Nri-Awka areas. The Southern Igbo are ignorant of the house deity.

Ikenga is usually for men of Ozo title or Nwanyi Odu ( women with ivory traditional titles).

This is a very controversial opinion, but the more I see some takes about some of our players, the more I believe that the 90's Super Eagles team is one of the worst things to have happened to the newer generation players and fans.

For a team that could not even make it past the Round of 16 at the World Cup, were they really that great? If you want to call Cameroon in the 90's, you can say they reached Quarters, Ghana in the 2010's also reached Quarters, the 90's Eagles at best, played scintillating football with mid results.

So, why do kids who were born years after this reign or were not even old enough to enjoy this reign, have to constantly live up to a reign that, to be honest, was not even so awesome when you look at results?

Which day, someone said calling up Dessers was an 'insult' to the Super Eagles because his stats were not 'good enough', and when I inquired on how it could be an insult when we have had the likes of Sani Keita and an aged Ameobi represent us at the World Cup, oga was replying me with, "I'm talking about Super Eagles in the 90's blah blah blah..."

Even me sef, I don't know anything about the 90's Eagles, I do not have any recollection of those days and a great number of Nigerian football fans today, don't know anything beyond stories and a few clips of that team, so, why do some people constantly rubbish the efforts of these younger players? Why can't we see them as new?

How do we foist the weight of Okocha on a young Mikel and even after Mikel has retired, we now want to foist the same weight on an Iwobi?

Why will some fans not allow that generation to rest and start citing moments more people can relate to, like the 2013 AFCON?

Please, the AFCON team of '94 will be clocking 28 years, the '98 World Cup team is as old as Maduka Okoye, managing our expectations also means changing the glasses we use in our judgement of players.

Which of the goals conceded against Sierra Leone was due to sloppiness? Ter Stegen conceded eight against Bayern, does it make him a poor keeper?

You should know that good keepers are not judged by conceded goals but by quality of saves. He made good saves against Tunisia, against Cape Verde and against CAR. He might not be an outstanding keeper yet, but here we judge him too brutally and yet make excuses for Uzoho. Pound for pound he is clearly better than Uzoho.

That goal Maduka conceded against Cape Verde away really exposed his Lack of enough technical knowledge of goalkeeping. Only cadet team goalkeepers concede such goals.

Role of the goalkeeper is always very important for a tournament like the AFCON.

A goalie is always a key figure in the defense. If any of our knockout games goes into penalty shootouts can we be confident enough with Maduka as a penalty stopper?

Yes, I am though I was born a Catholic, and sent to the best Catholic and one of best secondary schools in Nigeria "Order of the Monks - Marist Brothers" just so I could be taken away from my traditional roots because they saw the signs even before my birth. Lol I started serving mass in the Catholic church as a little kid and I served till I left the university( I can still serve till tomorrow, if I wish to because I love it), but then, I knew who I was all along. I love the Catholic church due to its doctrines that somehow align with the teachings of African traditional religion.

I'm not one who trashtalks other religions but I still Accord Christianity its respect because of the Catholic Church.

I just love the traditional way of life where I observe my Chi, Ndi mmiri( what you call the marine world), Ajala(mother Earth), anyanwu na Agbara, onye uwa(incarnate) and others.

Make peace with your Chi and your heart will know enormous peace.

My doubt about religion was something I couldn't wish away because I have serious question regarding the legitimacy of the Bible and the role of God in our everyday life.

I had kept my mind open and continued to read , learn and understand and stumbled on an article authored by Thomas Paine , an English-American radical of 18th century , called "The Age of Reason," and after reading this swell of a text I was shaken.

When he heard the girl I want to marry is from ndizogu he told me that the place is vast but if it is the main izuogu that he will advise me to back out. That he knows the place very well cus as a seminarian he did his apostolic work there

He asked me which kindred is the girl from I told him ndiuche this my friend screamed. He said ndiuche is the particular place he did his apostolic work in izuogu and that the place is nothing to write home about with strong forces hovering around

That even if no one advised me to back out that he will tell me not to make the move. That the people in the community are too fetish and full of evil. That he spent 5 months in the place then before he hurriedly left

That if it is izuogu that is close to okigwe, umuahia or akokwa that he will even go with my during the marriage but that ndiuche is the main arodinzogu and that they are very bad

That even mere stepping into the community if you are spiritually inclined you will notice that all is not well with the place and it’s people

I understand the root of your opinion on this matter.

I Watched the Green Eagles of the 1980s, I watched the Super Eagles of the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and now 2020s
For those of us Who have seen these different decades/generations of Eagles players, no doubt, we will tell you that the 1990s generation was the best. We were better than that 2nd round finish of 1994. Even FIFA ranked Nigeria 5th just before the WC started and slipped down to 11th in the first ranking just after the WC.
That 90s team was really great. Another factor is that so many countries had great teams that era. Likes of Brazil, Italy, Germany, Argentina, Netherlands also had their greatest teams that era. Playing against them, you stood a little chance.

It is only normal for people to rate the current team based on previous teams. In fact, in my head, the current generation is the weakest.

Pinick sent a budget of 15B Buhari naira to the sports ministry for approval, for AFCON and world cup qualifiers. So we can't plead penury to scout real players.
Rohr waffling around with poor goalkeepers ultimately cost him his job. Had he done his due deligence and did proper scouting, not judging players solely based on public data, he would have figured this position out.

My only hope is that we score more than we concede.

Our defense is experienced and descent enough to handle any attacks in this AFCON.
We don't have a Big commanding figure behind the defense (IE the goalie). We had that problem too in the last AFCON.

I share the same sentiment with you 100%. It's a real shame how mal naurished our keeping options have been since 2017. Rohr sent a trainer to work with Uzoho before the world cup. One would have thought he should have devoted more reasourses in scouting and training more keepers before now.
Truth is that our midfield will is not built for Spain-like total domination, so you need a real keeper who will dominate his box and keep you in games especially those tense moments.
Non of our keepers are capable of this.

My candid advice, marriage is a mystery that till today nobody can really say how it is,even the so called men of God.....only forgiveness can make marriage last, nothing more....my man relax your mind and look unto God for solution.

Good you brought it here not romance section where your problems would have been compounded

I wish you the best.
