COOL10:North African teams have never been a problem for west African football, especially in the past 10 years... we thrash them. But true, west African teams should adopt techniques to our play, we should be looking beyond Africa, ways to play and beat European and south American teams convincingly, heck, can we even beat Asian teams or Central American teams? Why would a north Korea team be winning headers over a Senegalese team, if physicality was important?West Africans should develop our football to show reflect place and high pressing, with good intelligence, and the world cup would be in Africa, all this physicality we hype, long balls, gidibo is not useful in modern football. 13 Likes |

Senegal , Cameroon and Ghana have reached quarter finals at the world cup. Ghana almost got to the semi-final. Which of the North African countries have reached quarter-finals? West African teams have their pattern of play different from North African groups. 1 Like |

Dannyxy: Exactly. We're way beyond the period of gbas gbos football. Hit me I hit you. I go break ya leg today Yes, physicality has its place. Even the so called fragile players still have some strength but the importance of technique cannot be overstated. Football is a 'time-space' concept and whoever is wise enough to make appropriate use of that knowledge will always come out victorious. |

How did I belittle his achievements? Sadiq Umar was a player most people wish didn't make the starting lineup despite the goals scored. Wish him all the best in the AFCON drDoom3: |

samtol4: Be honest with yourself. If you were to pick between an Algeria and let's say a Ghana to win the World Cup in the next 10 years or so, who would you pick? Heck, even the Senegal that some football fans picked to win the AFCON, seem shaky. We have nothing set up here in West Africa. Very little contributions to the development of grassroot football, poor football pitches, few tacticians, I could go on and on. We are no longer the Giants we think we are and that's a sad reality. 5 Likes |

African football get as e be; u will see a superior team on paper leading 1-0 in reality then when it gets to the final closing stage of game, minnow/underdog will start playing like Germany/Spain and so called powerhouse superior team will start defending....see the way Gabon dey defend their lives against comoros Can't imagine England or Spain leading Andorra 1-0 and start defending in the closing stages |

Football in general is always like that the losing team attack more in the closing stages and the leading team will backtrack to protect their lead especially in a cup competition, so African football no get as e be minfelix: 1 Like |

What are you even saying ? do you even watch football or you are just hungry to be mentioned ? European team hammer minnows How did greece win euro 2004 ? Is gabon even a top side in african football ? Didn't Germany lose Liechtenstein in qualifier ? Upset is normal in football especially in cup competition minfelix: |

Somebody dreamt here Nigeria vs Egypt match ended 3:0 against the Egyptians. I have been laughing ever since. Nigeria have never scored 3 unreplied goals against Egypt in over 20 years. They have won more matches against us by far in the last 20 years. Keep dreaming brother! 3 Likes |

isan: Oga u can't compare Greece to comoros, and u see this situation I sight is always common with African team, I'm sure top African football teams will be playing tournament game against a minnow and be struggling....No Gabon is not a powerhouse but they are force to reckon with over the years in previous afcon games.... oga comoros is f**king minnow and playing their first Afcon....let that same leitchestein come back n face Germany and cause upset.. Our own superior team to minnow game upset is now bcoming a norm |

Shukusheka: Being left footed is a gift. A very rare and precious gift. The only disadvantage is the coaches who want to convert almost every left footed player into a winger or fullback Thank God we have the likes of Haaland, Lukaku, Giroud and Iheanacho. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by drDoom3(m): 10:47pm On Jan 10, 2022 |
COOL10: Lukaku and Giroud are virtually two-footed. Haaland kinda is too. Every good striker reallly hasto be two-footed because situations arise where you have to convert with your supposed weak foot. |

Gabon is not a force to be reckon with in African football what have they achieved in african football ? You said European teams trash minnows why did Germany lost to Liechtenstein ? And you are saying they should come and do it again , did Germany lost to them or not ? Stop going back and forth minfelix: |
