6 games played in this AFCON. No game has had more than 1 outfield goal. Some, like Senegal vs Zimbabwe, had none.

Creativity has been so poor in this tournament.

Lukaku and Giroud are virtually two-footed. Haaland kinda is too. Every good striker reallly hasto be two-footed because situations arise where you have to convert with your supposed weak foot.

A tap in with your weak foot from about 6 yards to the the goal doesn't make you two footed. Can you take a 20 to 25 yards ACCURATE shot with that same weak foot? Very few strikers can do this.

Technique over physicality anyday, anytime. This is why I don't support those who subscribe to the notion of choosing very physical players and dropping the less physical ones for the AFCON.

Until West African teams learn to incorporate the tenets of technical football into their style of play, the more fragile looking but highly intelligent and open minded North African teams will continue to have an edge over us.

Brains over Brawn cool

Another who is finally seeing the light. Is it not part of what I am trying to point to in every facet of our gameplay? This is part of the reason for my Midfield selections.

Brains over Brawn all day. Also, the right mix of both in a team gives that team a special kind of edge.

It's like having Alhassan Yusuf in person. Lad knows how to get dirty and throw himself into tackles and interceptions like a real work machine but lad is also one of the most technically proficient Midfield ballers you will find in Belgium today.

The best is always to have the mix of both worlds. That way you will have indomitable edge over an all brawns side and also a fine edge over an all-brains side.

Jogo Bonito laced with Gra Gra and Ginga. Sweetness and delicate technicalities mixed with toughness.

I don't believe in this.
Though, players from Brazil get easy attention but.... they keep working hard. It doesn't matter your nationality, if you don't work hard, nobody will ask for your signature. You will definitely go back to your comfort zone.

Gabigol comes to mind.

I think today's game between Manchester United and Aston Villa highlighted your point of how hard Brazilian players work.

When you look at Fred and Douglas Luiz, you will see two players giving their all for their teams.

I can't imagine the number of interceptions, blocks, and recoveries Douglas Luiz made today. He also gave some good passes and covered a large area of the Field.

Yes players can show up punctual in training but few give their all in it. Same as players showing up for a game and playing it. It is not the same as few who give their very best for their teams.

I can imagine the review and preparation for tomorrow.

Gabon is not a force to be reckon with in African football what have they achieved in african football ? You said European teams trash minnows why did Germany lost to Liechtenstein ? And you are saying they should come and do it again , did Germany lost to them or not ? Stop going back and forth
Bros nobody is saying there are no upset in football, but ours in Africa is now looking like a normal thing, and I will argue it with u, Gabon is a a force to be reckoned with in African soccer/Afcon, remember I'm basing my argument as against the comoros they played....even if they have not won anything, they also Afcon regulars for the past and have at some point progress beyond group stage...so comoros is not their mate.
Whether Germany lost or not, that doesn't remove the fact that Germany will come and start defending against them in a tournament proper towards the end of game..
I'm even going too far to call Germany self....make Serbia,Sweden,Austria catch that your leitchestein u are calling, whether no be beating

A country of tacticians. Yet Amaju Pinnick can't see. When you think of others like Oliseh and Samson Siasia. We still have Sylvanus Okpala and Finidi George.

Remembering the heroes that past like Yemi Tella, Kashimawo Laloko, Willy Bazuaye, Musa Abdullahi, Fani Amun, and Tunde Disu.

Amunike rubbing minds with the technical crew, checking on the lads... being there in person. Seeing especially some of his U17 boys in this team from 2013 and 2015.. Iheanacho, Ndidi, Uzoho, Awoniyi, Ejuke, Chukwueze, Nwakali, Awaziem (part of the 2015 team and was even the first captain before being dropped for Nwakali. He was clocked ineligible for being older by a year or so).

Mehn... beautiful. Just beautiful.

Let's see how things go.

No be hype. Going 39 games (correct me if I'm wrong) unbeaten no be beans. But it's football, anything can happen. So I won't be surprised if they mess up tomorrow.

Is this a beef against North African countries ?

The fact still remains no African team has won the World Cup
No beef air , it is a response to the comments here that the North African teams are intelligent in play compared to the West African teams.

Finding that perfect mix is a very hard thing to do. Consistent gym work can be quite tasking but I actually feel that it's easier for a technical player to become stronger than it is for a very physical player to become smarter.

Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way.

Alhassan Yusuf already embodies both and he is still growing and working. Imagine the technical/tactical/workrate beast he will evolve into.

I think it's a mindset thing. It can be done.

Anyone says it isn't? That's an African record man. grin They are going for the world record in this group stage alone. If they stay undefeated in the first round, they will equal Italy's world record of 37.

This means Algeria setting a new world record will depend on their Round of 16 tie.

Actually you are wrong most quality forward players can.

I will add the new under 21 players you see from the elite academies of Europe at least 75% will have both feet proficiency.
