Icon4s:your statement is factually wrong within context. North africa has the hottest temperatures. Algeria and mali are 2 of africa hottest countries. Also the tactics u describe is actually used by north african countries with their proximity to sahara desert. The only excuse is that their foreign based players are not used to the weather ( most teams are affected) 11 Likes |

ChrisKels: He clearly made a comparison Chris, please Because what brought Robben and Ribery into a discussion about Nigerian players? Who is the Robben and who is the Ribery that were sacrificed for a Simon? |

With all the Ejuke noise Eguavoen has been making, one would have thought that Ejuke would start. I no too blame the coach sha. Simon's work will be to mark Salah. Chukwueze is our only real attacking outlet and we all know how erratic his form can be. Let's hope today is one of his good days. That said, Ekong remains a constant source of worry for me. That guy's quality keeps getting worse game after game. From poor anywhere-belle-face passes to poor man marking and causing unnecessary fouls, that guy is a disaster waiting to happen. I hope he proves me wrong. The list is, otherwise, very okay. Since we have no competent no.10, it's better we do without that position for now. I only wish Aribo will be good with his ball distribution today instead of doing his usual box-to-box running. The team's midfield creativity lies squarely on his shoulders. Lastly, i hope Iheanacho has finally learnt how to trap ball . Go Super Eagles! |

andrewbaba44: The lineup is perfect really... Salah's threat requires a winger who can track back. Moses Simon is good at that. I think Simon will put in a good performance today in contrast to with Rohr. Rohr really jinxed our players with his mentality. 2 Likes |

minfelix: The kid can be really silly sometimes because he lacks manner of approach, but I understood where he was driven at. He didn't compare our wingers to Bayern's, he only made an illustration using Bayern wingers. Bayern played and excelled with tricky wingers, so let's copy that in OUR OWN CAPACITY by playing OUR OWN TRICKY WINGERS. There is no comparison whatsoever here. 2 Likes |

Actually, Ekong is giving me a bigger heartburn than Omeruo. In addition, I would’ve preferred that we use two DMs (Ndidi and Onyeka) in this game. O pari Samueltemi337: |

Calamity Omeruo starts? Awaziem should have started. Playing Aina and chukwueze on the same flank is suicidal... Egypt is gonna play a strong defence. Quieroz is a very defensive coach.. |

The line up is not impressive. I won't join some of you here and be pretending. I will gnash my teeth and use a microphone. The bite is not creative enough. And the midfield is minus one. Nacho has been a liability to the SE for the past games. I pray he comes good today. I will root and support the team. But allow me express my opinion in peace. The line up LACKS creativity against an Egyptian side that we should choke this first half and not wait till the second half to introduce the joker. What of we conceed 2 goals and find it hard to come back into the game. Good luck to the team and all the best. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by SerVik(m): 3:50pm On Jan 11, 2022 |
Simon is in that line-up to double tag with zaidu against Salah. I, however, do not like this formation. Like I said earlier, that midfield is too thin and would easily be overun. Simon and chukwueze playing as side midfielders will lose a lot of balls while trying to dribble and this would put unnecessary defensive pressure on Ndidi seeing as Aribo is not as combative. This defensive pressure would have been absolved a little with Onyeka as the 3rd man in the midfield. I pray Eguaveon's obsession with replicating the tactics of the '94 squad doesn't come back to bite him 2 Likes |

Joezinho: That's why I'm disappointed in the coach. You talk and talk about lacking creativity and then you start a tem with only one creativity... Chukwueze. What of he's caged, as I expect? |
