The commentator qoutes this Bible verse:

Exodus 14:13

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

If that is your argument, this super eagles.team is worse compared to the USA 94 team then.
You are hellbent on not understanding my point. And yes this Super Eagles team is average compared to the USA 94 team and this Egyptian team is poor.

Ndidi play ahead of Irabo in the midfield. I noticed that from first half. Ndidi did not play as a defensive midfielder today
It was a flat 442 Ndidi and Aribo had box to box Instructions

FULL-TIME: Nigeria 1-0 Egypt

That's it! Nigeria upset Egypt in the opening game of Group D. Kelechi Iheanacho's first half strike proves enough to hand them all three points!

A superb display from the Super Eagles! Torrid stuff from Egypt.

You copied this from somewhere., Perhaps BBC.
Whoever made the comment should be told that Nigeria beating Egypt in African football CAN NEVER be an upset.

Cool match, next time someone else should be brought in instead of Sadiq

The guy staying behind Chukwueze should do better, so that Chukwueze won't have to always be falling back to defend, hence making his position upfront seem empty

Great job by all the other players, special mention to the unknowns like Aribo who kept a solid 10 and one "Sanusi or so" guy at the back who did a really, really nice job

Most importantly, whoever was given the contract to supply the balls should be castrated, the balls were bouncing like felele ball

Actually the last 2 subs didn't make much different..

The intensity of this game was crazy. Egypt didn't know what hit them. This is the best Nigeria have played in a long time. It should be 5-0 because we truly destroyed them. I was shocked with the tactical genius.

We just need to take our chances.

What is with African games with 1-0 games, even NPL self always 1, 1 goal games. We hardly see over 2.5

Moses lead Nigeria out of the hands of pharaoh.

Man of the match

In my opinion, man of the match is Joe Aribo. He was composed and hard-working. He also provided the assist.
Ndidi is a worthy mention. Moses too was unplayable.

On the other end, No 6 of Egypt Hegazi was also really solid.

The formations paid off. Congrats guys it's been a while I saw this type of serious football from Super Eagle.

Egypt can now rest I think, instead for them to focus on their games they are talking about Southern Afrca using black magic so is this black magic? No, it's what we called serious business football.

Rohr would have lost this match easy. I don't know why we fail to recognise and appreciate our own. Is it inferiority complex?
