Finally cheesy

I don't steal people's glory, I also dont sugarcoat just to win admirers. Ndidi was hella solid today and I want that to be the start of when he would start raising his game.

Simon had a better game than Chuks.

Then for the attacking in second half, it was Ejuke shouldering most of that responsibility, though wasted.

Overall, this Selfishness Thing must be discussed asap.

They should show them some Emenike-Ideye Clips if need be.

Nacho is clinical abeg!! In that same position, I'm not sure anyone else would have found the net.

All those Corner Kicks too.....

Simon didn’t have a better game than Chuks but a far better game grin

Chukwueze was missing in action today.
Simon surprised everyone
Iheanacho was the star of the match
Omeruo and Ekong were decent in the defence
Ndidi showed class in his performance
Aribo and Aina was at their best today
Ejuke could have done better
Awoniyi was above average
Overall the Super Eagles by their superb performance have sent a strong message which is that they are at Afcon to win.

He would have strolled into the first eleven. Club agreement stopped him.
Let him go and be strolling in the Arabian desert.
At least by next Afcon or WC if we qualify you will not be here to say Awoniyi, Aribo, Sadiq, and many others who will join the fray at this Afcon lack international experience.

No one is bashing Awoniyi for not being alert after his header was saved off the crossbar. If he didn't turn back and start celebrating, maybe he would have been able to poke in the rebound.

Why Ejuke?

No need to bash awoniyi ,and I also think the bash on ejuke isn’t necessary also

E didn't have a jaw dropping performance but he was definitely one of the top performers today

I don't go with public opinion, except when necessary, and this instance is not one of them.

The players all gave good account of themselves, but some were better.

Nacho is too heavy... He is not mobile enough. His stamina too is poor.

His first touch naturally is not bad, but when he gets tired it becomes a disaster. He is now not mobile enough to recover after a poor first touch. Guy is a liability after 60+ mins in a game.

However his best attributes are just so good. His shooting is one of the best I have ever seen, even Awoniyi commented that Nacho is one of the best shooters in the history of Nigerian football. Once he gets the ball on his left foot anywhere near the penalty area, with little space he will miss maybe 1 or 2 in 5. Just get him a slimmer of a chance.
With his shooting prowess, I don/t know why he hasn't really nailed it in freekicks.

Meanwhile, Nwakali's praise singers please tell us about his performance. I didn't really focus on him.

Our performance today clearly proves that Rohr was the main problem of the team..
We pressed them better and our ball recovery was better . Decision making in the final third was just the issue.. We could have won this game 3-0...Egypt had nothing on us..

Like I said pre-game...

I also hope Aribo is licenced to get forward a bit more and cause an attack overload alongside Nacho and Awo today when we are in attacking transitions and when crosses come in.

Eguavoen did exactly what I envisioned. Aribo!!!! Chaaiiii... what a player we have in that lad when he is Played close to the box.

His beautiful chest pass to Nacho was highly intelligent and totally caught the Egyptians off guard. Where did this happen? Aribo was right there causing an attack overload for us IN THE BOX alongside Awoniyi who went for Simon's Cross which fell to Aribo and which he intelligently touched only once with his chest for a pass to Nacho who finished with aplomb.

I said that Aribo will be key to us not having a problem with numbers arriving into opposition box coz he will be there complimenting the presence of threat the other forwards will create in the box.

Omo.... nothing gives more joy in-game than seeing what you have seen analytically from a distance play out right before your eyes with success.

Aribo is Gold. Preserve that lad. And let him retain the licence to bomb forward into or towards opposition box in our attacking transitions. Beautiful!!! Thank You Austin Eguavoen and Salisu Yusuf. Thank you ooooo

This is the Super Eagles we have been screaming about. Not what Rohr the Virus served us all this time.

This is only one game. Remember the same Rohr defeated Egypt 1-0

Eguavon was very active on the sidelines today.. Even after our goal, the man was still wearing a serious look and barking instructions...Na proper coach..

Rohr own is to stand like Ekuke and be shouting "come on"..

I take your analysis with a huge pinch of salt. I think your prejudice is coloring your views.
I rarely accuse commenters with prejudice or hate but how come you criticizing Sadiq who came when we were doing more of defending than attacking and praising Semi Ajayi over Omeruo who had a superb game? Why wouldn't Ajayi do more when as a defender he joined in to strengthen our defense against the Egyptian attack?

Semi the foreign born over the naija born players abi? There's a disturbing pattern which is congruent with your manifest live for foreign born players over local players.

That's your perspective tinged with your own blatant prejudice.

You disregard the specifics details of how I came to my deduction. You then anchor your deduction entirely on your own self birthed subjective view.

Why did you not contest my deductions , let me reiterate my rational, below.

Sadiq is Slow I think he is the slowest player in the team. He is tall but can't even win headers against much shorter player's. He is big but gets bullied easily. He should have been filled by with running but was languid. Within minutes he was complaining about NOBODY helping him to press. He put no pressure on on the Egyptian defence. That's my observations.

Now please leave out your emotive sensibilities and bias. And contend with the specifics of my deductions objectively for all to see who is BIASED

I challenge you please, please don't hide let's analyse not posture or make allegations that you can't back up.

he only touched the ball twice so how em effect the teams play?

My preferred choice would hv been Onyeka to add more steel to the middle then move aribo forward a bit because the team is trying to defend their lead

Brining in nwakali when the team is trying not to give out its lead was a huge gamble by the coach

Lol.... Eguavoen wanted someone to bring some calm in the closing stages that is why he opted for Nwakali and also to offer fresh legs as we defended.

Did you see the beautifully worked counter attack Nwakali initiated and exchanged with Ejuke in that dying mins of the game. That should easily has been 2-0 had Ejuke done better. Nwakali came in and did as expected....he almost bagged an assist.

All the lads were splendid today. Off the bench and those who started.

The dynamism is back.

The Moses Simon of Nantes finally came to the Party

Moses Simon was the most impressive of our Wingers today. From an analytical point of view on the defensive side, we knew he would be busy helping Zaidu with curtailing Salah but some points in the game, Zaidu handled Salah on his own and Simon had even more influence on our attacking transitions through the left (Salah's wing) than we had through Chukwueze on the right (non-salah wing... trezeguet was there).

That was crazy. Moses Simon stunned all of us. All of us. He played like a man reborn and out to continue the tradition of a Moses tormenting Egyptians in in generation. grin

Moses Simon is a strong candidate for MOTM but he sits third for me behind Aribo and Iheanacho.

Ahhhh.... I never even drop full analysis and I am already waxing lyrical. Chaaaiiii... What a game. What a Victory!!!

His end product was abysmal sorry. Ejuke end product was much impressive in 20 minutes

In the first 6 minutes there were three long balls straight to Awoniyi. Throughout the game when Omeruo was in trouble he went long Knowing there was an outlet and the outlet was Awoniyi.

Awoniyi is not Drogba or Lukaku but he showed good hold up play and pressed from the front he was pivotal to how we played.

He made it very difficult alongside Moses for Egypt particularly in the first half to get any Rythm. Our Midfield worked their socks off .

Again Awoniyi was pivotal to that.

Imagine Awoniyi had started you think we would be celebrating.❓

Nobody thought to give a long ball to Sadiq like they were doing continuously with Awoniyi. WHY

Nuff Said.
Let me ask you, how many goal attempts did we have within the time that Sadiq came in till the final minute? How many long balls were whipped in for him compared to Awoniyi who played more minutes?
