Hello everyone, My undergraduate background has nothing to do with technology, but I am currently working as an IT support specialist in Germany and I would like to continue my studies in Canada, but this time I would like to take an IT course. Please, is this possible for me. I have also applied to some colleges in Ontario but my status is "no decision". I would also appreciate if someone could add me to a whatsapp group. |

Please guys, any info about Georgian College? Anybody going to Georgian College? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by makano: 10:52pm On Jan 11, 2022 |
Hello Omoboriowojay I have already answered your question on "No decision" And i said it means the college is yet to give you a final decision as regards your admission to the school.. Since your proposed course of study is related to your Job, then you are good to go.. But you will really need to work on your SOP and LOE.. And to your request for you to be added to a whatsapp group, I do not think that move will favour you.. The information you will get here is not compared to any information on any Canadian study whatsapp group.... Do not deny yourself of vital information here.. Peace omoboriowoJay: 3 Likes |

omoboriowoJay: Hi Omoboriowo, Straight to the point - No Decision simply means the College hasn't decided yet. The waiting period feels the longest and I know exactly how it feels. Since you're currently working in the IT industry, then I think you're in the right direction. However, your SOP must reflect how your current work experience has influenced your decision to pursue the program. Also, you've to link it to what you intend doing after the program (i cannot exhaust the points in this comment). My advices - 1) Apply to more than one school (maybe a university and college) 2) If possible apply to programs that has a co-op/practicum 3) Prepare a strong graduate cv and sop There's an Ontario based Educational Firm (email: contact@1grad.ca) that offers free services except if you need their assistance in statement of purpose and graduate cv write-ups. Wishing you the best! 3 Likes |

jennifarh:A bank with less traffic will process faster. So banks like first bank, GT bank and UBA are gonna be slow. Try sterling , FCmB and keystone. UBA might even break your money into 3 parts of the tuition is huge so it means you have to apply like 3 times 1 Like |

bola01234: Durham college is better. But beware of study gaps above 5years if you are from Nigeria . In other not to loose your application fee. |

Hello guru's in the house, I learnt it is best for one to apply for a two year program like Masters rather than a one year program while planning to apply for a canadian study permit. Reason being that in the long run it gives the candidate more time, which is usually 3 years to apply and process for a PR. The point am looking at clerifying is, is it possible to do two separate post graduate program in a college at different intervals and get eligible for a 3 years PGWP? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by mrprolifik: 8:04am On Jan 12, 2022 |
Teejay13:That's what we call 1+1 year program . You finish a 1year program then do another 1year program. You will get a 3 year PGWP. But one thing you need to note is that both colleges or universities need to be a designated learning institute. 5 Likes |

Teejay13: Hello Teejay, As per the bolded, applying for a course isn't just about the number of years but the course that will show career and or academic progression. Now to apply for either master's or PGD/PGC depends on the grade(class of degree) one came out with. As we all know, when you have 2.2 and below, you have a lesser chance of securing admission in masters but a higher chance of admission in PGD. Yes, 2 years gives you 2-3 years PGWP while 8 months(1 year) course gives you only 1-year PGWP. Now we have seen many instances of applicants after finishing the first year, immediately enrolled for another 1 year and at the end secured a 2-3 years PGWP so is very much allowed to secure 3 years PGWP after doing 2 (1 year) course concurrently. But note that, for this to be possible, you must start your second course immediately after you complete the first course. Not when you finish your first course, you now work small and come back to study then thinking you will get 2-3 years PGWP, no you won't. 7 Likes |
