DavSagacity:Amen oh! Septicemic shock, kidney inflammation, liver inflammation, lung infection, etc. So basically, the poor boy was already inundated with illnesses long before his demise, and the ankle injury which he got while playing football was what triggered the bacterial infection that culminated into sepsis. Tbh I'm surprised he didn't display any of these symptoms or underlying health issues till it became too late. Both the school & the parents treated his illness with kid gloves, from the moment he was injured on the football pitch, to when he left the school, right until when he died. The parents downplayed the severity of the illness, solely attributing it to bullying from his peers. That's why it's essential to do regular check ups & run tests on vital organs of the body from time to time. People be walking around with sicknesses unknowingly. May God help us. By the way, I love these presenters on Arise News, they ask very direct questions & without filler or irrelevant comments, especially the lady in suit & tie. But they should have also interviewed the other pathologist who carried out the first autopsy since this woman was the second, just to corroborate her findings. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

What do Nigerians really want from this case? Its starting to look like jungle justice to me.No one should stand idly by when the lives of others are threatened (thats christian scripture by the way). This accusation of the Dowen students and school for the death of sylvester needs to stop. We have the duty of speaking the truth and promoting justice. And we must not bear false witness.( and we must protect our society from this kind of evil so that justice may run in our streets) So far we know the school called his parents to pick a sick child The autopsy corroborated the schools version that he died of septicaemia and its other effects( caused by infection in the human body). It cannot be faked, the sepsis cannot happen after death. He died from a form of sickness that he did not recover from The real question here is after his guardian picked up a sick child from school, what was done? how did they let him get full blown sepsis,to the extent his kidney was affected? (thats an effect from sepsis) The answers to that may lead to the real cause of the death of the young boy and whoever is truly culpable But to try and pin( murder or manslaughter) on some boys in school with no evidence is bearing false witness, the best to be done may be to establish a case of bullying against those boys, and the evidence must be brought out. but bullying and murder are 2 different things. And if there was bullying was the school informed at any time? did anyone report the matter to any school authority? So why is the school been dragged here? for not identifying a child is been bullied perhaps? ok,did the parents identify it too,if the child did not speak to his parents on this, what are the chances he will speak to the school authorities? Anyone speaking on this matter with kids, must all remember that you pray no one casts false witness on your children, definitely not something as grave as murder or manslaughter, so why sow that seed on other peoples children? And for those quiet on the ,matter, how do you stand idly by when the life and future of others are threatened especially children? Lastly any good autopsy done is recorded, all the pictures and the process recorded and archived so anyone can go through again at any time and arrive at the same conclusion,in that the LASUTH autopsy has the records for anyone anywhere to reassess, did the first autopsy with one pathologist have that?. If it does it should be tendered, if not, which is likely to be accurate ( that is if the results are different) I suggest the sylvester family if they truly have an axe to grind should revise their case against the Dowen boys to bullying and they must present their proof ,witnesses ,video of the young man saying he was bullied e.t.c .If they want to probe his death better they should also trace the illness and who failed to do what. It is painful to loose a loved one ,not to talk of a child,I pray that family never experiences such again.May God comfort his family at this time. and anyone harassing Dowen college for murder with no proof should take it easy, do not be another bully,do not bear false witness 1 Like |

phineas:Well said. I think if the parents take legal action against bowen, it will end up being an embarrassment for them as it will expose alot especially during cross examination. It will expose the fact that the parents did not give that boy proper medical care. Weeks back when I saw the video of the boy in pains and being massaged by his relatives, I was shocked. First the environment did not look like a hospital. Second they were massaging him. Who does that? Did you hear the part where the lady pathologist said the massaging could have compounded the child's injury? I insist if that child had received proper care he would have been alive today. One thing I have observed with some people, strangely, is that that have issue with spending money on healthcare. They believe doctors are out to rip them off. They prefer to us chemist or take agbo. Meanwhile they have money and rather spend millions on other things. Imagine septis setting on that child for days. Moved from Lagos to warri, when he should have been in heavy antibiotics. |

Like I always say, do not joke with any kind of wound or injury. The questionable areas I have issues with was that. Did Sylvester have any prior history of sepsis known to the parents? If yes, then he should have been immediately taken to a hospital for proper urgent medical attention. If not, then that explains the reason why they only assumed that it was not a big deal and kept him at home. Then also the issue of shock like the pathologist explained could bring memories flooding through your brain and you start saying things you would ordinarily choose to hide in a "normal" mental state. It has happened to someone I know. Which explains why he mentioned names of those who bullied him (which in my opinion was true). He was definitely bullied. But I don't think that was what led to his death. The police have established no sign of trauma or involuntary murder. It's just sad this promising young man died. I wish he didn't die. But God knows best. |
Re: Doctor Who Witnessed Sylvester Oromoni's Autopsy Speaks (Video) by jimcaddy(m): 3:14am On Jan 12, 2022 |
In as much as I know that emotions are quite raw, but I would urge us to err on the side of caution and conscience. Definitely the late Sylvester was bullied by those students he mentioned. But I don't think that was what led to his death. Medically, it has been proven what killed him. Two autopsies confirmed this. The reason we doubt this is because it was performed in "Nigeria where anything can happen". But would we be satisfied if this body was flown abroad for another autopsy to be conducted independently before we finally believe the report wasn't "doctored" like we are insinuating? There are diseases in this life. For the fact that it killed Sylvester so quickly depends on several other factors. It could be that his immunity was low to fight the bacterial infection. Had another person had this same injury Sylvester had, maybe he or she would not have died immediately. Depending on other factors like I said. Our bodies are not the same. I am so sad the boy died so fast. But God knows best. Medically it has been proven what killed him and it has exonerated Dowen and the pupils. osazsky: |

As a doctor I have some pressing questions and observations. 1. The school said they have a hospital 3 minutes away. When the nurse in the sick bay saw that the 'wound' was getting worse why was he not taken to the hospital and the parents called from there. It is better to err on the side of an emergency than to treat a student injury with kid gloves and then it becomes a catastrophe like this. I remember vividly back in my secondary schools days in Adesoye college once the sick bay feels they can't handle your case they send you to the appointed hospital immediately. What do they want parents in benin to do about a sick child in Lagos over the phone. Error number 1 from the school. 2. Now some people may dispute this but the narrative about drinking a poisonous substance killed this case. Bullying is bullying. It is not until someone drinks something that the person was bullied. Once that narrative came in all they need to do is to find a poisonous substance in the tissue during autopsy. It can't be hidden. They should have simply stuck to a narrative of bullying or intimidation and not poisoning. I believe he was bullied but he could not have been poisoned. If he was poisoned he won't even make the journey from benin to Lagos. 3. Conclusion on this case. Yes sadly this boy died of septiceamia but the real question is was it really from football? When was the football incident and who was there to verify. For septiceamia to occur injury has to be deep and exposed and there would have been marked pus and the leg would be swollen remarkably. Yes the leg was swollen but what caused it. Was he kicking stone. Even as a doctor this is the first time I am hearing playing football lead to an injury that caused a whole septiceamia. A healthy boy. That rate of spread is usually seen in diabetes patients or patients with very low immunity. Did he have low white blood cells or what. Was he leukaemic. What other underlying diseases did they find that warranted this huge diagnosis. A boy with active white blood cells that should kill the infection in 2 or 3 days. Something is not right. Since they said it is septiceamia from the ankle they need to seriously probe how football caused that or that was just what he said to the school. How are they sure that he wasn't beaten or as some seniors do then will try to rake you down from your ankle and warn you that if you fall you are done. I don't know but except the ball is stone which kind injury caused septiceamia with multiple organ failure like that. I just have to rant. RIP this case really made me sad. Everyone from the school, to the parents, to the hospital he was that didn't detect the septiceamia, to even all of us. Failed this boy. A young boy like that should not die a very painful death like that. The police think because he was not poisioned case closed. What about the cuts on his head why was that not probed. There are many things that could have happened that would not necessary show evidently during an autopsy. Autopsy tell the findings not how they got there. They need to find things to query and not say oh he was not bullied he died natural. That septiceamia from ankle injury if it was caused by a deliberate act to cause injury from bullying then it is not natural. For example if someone is slapped, you can lose your tooth and that can cause a cyst, that can later become a cystic tumour that can lead to death. Just from a slap. If they do autopsy do they think they will see anything that will show it was a slap that started it? They will say it was a dentigerous cyst. And that will conclude the autopsy. That leg was an injury nursed for a long time and autopsy would not show what started it conclusively. So in that case it should be a case of his word against theirs this is a circumstancial case and they are hard to prove. Any form of trauma to the body should be queried. The ankle injury should be queried extensively. Stop lieing to us it was football. They should probe the football event we want to know when it happened and all the people who were there. If it's true other students who were there would have come out to say so and explain the terrible injury he had that caused all this. 3 Likes 1 Share |

You didn't mention the threat and how much you received prior to the Nollywood show. And, you didn't mention who was the spoke man in charge of the operation while the show was going on. Finally, if you were all not compromised and the result is what your show and yourself say it is, you all should just resign because i now see why politicians don't take Nigerian doctors and hospitals seriously. |

nedekid: You people never fail to amaze. Even if there's nothing backing it up and we are just speculating it'd still be totally unbelievable those lips are from sepsis (see symptoms of sepsis below). But in this case the dying boy, witnessing students, the boy's father, the first autopsy, all gave a matching account of what happened, which all matched perfectly with the peeling lips! DOES THIS BELOW LOOK LIKE SOMETHING THAT CAN RESULT FROM SEPSIS??!! WOW!!! Can't you people use your common sense to tell when you are not being told the truth??!!

Re: Doctor Who Witnessed Sylvester Oromoni's Autopsy Speaks (Video) by Gospel2Day: 2:26am On Jan 13, 2022 |
PoliteActivist: I didn't dwell on the possibility of connivance and conspiracy on the part of the powers that be. My issue is WHY DIDN'T THE PARENTS TAKE AND KEEP THE BOY IN THE HOSPITAL? They could have rescued the boy. It would have been better if the boy had passed away on hospital bed. But no, they kept him at home, making noise all over social media. That's the point I'm stressing. If a baby mistakenly drank engine oil is it a death sentence, if the parents took the baby quickly to hospital for treatment? Whatever happened to the boy should not have resulted in his death. The parents' negligence somewhat contributed to his death. Let's accept that fact too. Whatever crooked, dirty job done by those involved in his bullying and autopsy can be handled later, but it won't bring back the dead boy. Shalom. |
Re: Doctor Who Witnessed Sylvester Oromoni's Autopsy Speaks (Video) by PoliteActivist: 3:34am On Jan 13, 2022 |
Gospel2Day: Well, Mr. Shalom, much of what you are saying is unsubstantiated or just repeating embellished talking points. But even so, you are stressing the wrong point by a wide margin. The point you are stressing does not address any of the big issues: bullying in schools, cover-up by school authorities, cultism in schools, manipulated autopsies, cronyism that sweeps evil under the carpet, manipulation of the public by powers that be, etc. Some may have forgotten this, but right after it happened it was here on NL front page that one of the students who witnessed the beating went to the house master and school authorities to tell them what happened, but was confused because they kept telling him he got injured playing football! He went further to say that not only did he not play football, but there was no playing of football in the school durring that period! |
Re: Doctor Who Witnessed Sylvester Oromoni's Autopsy Speaks (Video) by Gospel2Day: 3:52am On Jan 13, 2022 |
PoliteActivist: I am not disagreeing with your points. What pains me is the needles death of the boy. Simple and short. All the points you raised didn't start with Sylvester. You know that in Nigeria the powerful get away with almost everything. Once armed with that knowledge, the parents should have been more focused on recovery of their son, NOT social media outcry. Thanks for your time. Shalom. |
