I don't think it's anything... More like traditional medicine. I have three tiny marks on my cheek, it's now almost invisible but I know when they made those marks. I was very sick as a child so my mother took me to one of those herbalist. They made the cut with new razor and applied this kerosene lamp soot. They then gave me a neck band with two cowries attached to it. Lost the neck band though. If it's an old mark, then you are safe... I can still recall I have so many marks all over my body and I just don't know what for or how they got there.. My great grand father was something else .... Are the marks long and thick, like facial tribal marks on faces of 'lucky' Yoruba people? If yes, then your girl is definitely from Ondo City in Ondo State. Those particular marks belong to a group of family called 'Otunba/Jomu' who in ancient times were affiliated with the Osemawe of Ondo, his majesty the King.
