Many car fans in da house have probably wondered now and then whether a monkey could prove to be a better driver than some of the crazy drivers in Lagos. Here is a video showing that a well-trained monkey can indeed be a safe and skilled driver capable of handling Lagos traffic.

I checked Youtube and apparently there is a copyright claim against the person who posted that video clip. Oh well, at least the second clip is still viewable, and one can only hope the second clip doesn't suffer the same fate.

I like the second clip a bit less because much of it was shot after dark. The best part of it is the first couple of minutes before sunset.

Ps. The legitimate owner of the clip has reposed the historic footage so I corrected the link above.

So many readers will be wondering how our Orangutan performs as a driver on beach sand given that offroad driving requires an entirely different skill set from highway and street driving.
