Good day nairalanders

i've been living under the fear of having a heart problem for more than five years, but my people refused that i should go for scan probably because of fear that it might be true, and there won't be money to care/treat it..

Even me, i'm afraid to go for scan, because the moment it is comfirmed to me, i don't kno if i would be able to live with it..

i can't run nor do hard work, my pulse is always high and sometimes my breathing stop totally.. I've fainted multiple times, and i've been living under depression for so long..

Now, this symptoms is increasing on daily basis, but my people dosn't want me to go for scan.. Is like they already knows the result will turn out positive.

But what if i go for scan an the result shows that i have a heart probem, how will i be able to live with it, knowing fully very well that we don't have the money to cure it..

I don't kno what to do nairalanders, i need advice..

First go for test if positive

Rather than live in constant fear why not do the required tests and free your mind? Worst case scenario u are diagnosed with heart issues, u begin treatment before it escalates to deleterious level.

Reminds me of a friend that was diagnosed with cancer and had few months to live. Those few months actually was the best years of our life and friendship. Everything he was asked to abstain from was what we did together. From partying to flirting and traveling, just name it. Everything we never did while growing up and focused on money, we did. God bless his soul.

He actually died a peaceful death in his sleep while we were drunk the night before right beside us his friends. I lay right by his side while he went cold never to wake no more.

Nigerians have a general problem -- and that is playinig the ostrich.

If they're in a relationship, some will advise not to check their partner's messages from time to time in order not to discover their partner's (in)fidelity.

If they feel symptoms of HIV, their friends will advise them not to check their status saying, "that thing wey you dey find, you go get am".

All these instances get me wondering. Is it that Nigerians just simply love to live in ignorance or what? Is ignorance truly bliss?

To the poster, how can you want to live in ignorance about something that could be real? Who told you the condition cannot be properly managed if diagnosed early? You dont know early detection to health issues is routinely life-saving?

We are in 2022. Start dey gather sense abeg. GET THAT SCAN, XRAY, DIAGNOSIS RIGHT NOW!!!!

Only God can heal you permanently without you spending a dime. Seek him diligently, give your life to Christ wholely, stay with the word of God, study it and he will heal you.

I once had an ailment but God healed me when I decided to follow him.

The best advice I can give you is

You should avoid eating any red meat

Don't drink anything with gas..

Eat More fruits

More vegatable

Drink lots of water...like literally

Avoid anything that will stress you mentally or emotionally


Even if the result comes out as positive, that's what the doctors said, not what God said about your health

And also pray fervently

Believing is your connection to Jesus

Heart issues is no benign issue and must be attended to from the very first symptom upon notice.

Devoid yourself of fear and go see a cardiologist to examine you and run some necessary tests. What might be the issue could just be remedied by lifestyle or diet change.

Do NOT waste any more time due to fear of the unknown.

It will be better for you to kill your fear before your fear get ride of you, follow doctor advice.

Only to go for Echo and ECG and nothing was wrong other than HTN.

I concluded that I had CAD, but it was not. I would not have known without scan

The simple way to leave with it is to thank God for the grace to have leave this long, knowing fully well that some of your mates are long gone. Then tell yourself that if God has keep you till this time, you can only go when he says it's time and resolve to gladly accept his wish when he says it's time. But for the time being, choose to leave your life to the fullest, tell yourself that your worries can't change anything hence just be happy with your life and with God who has kept you till now.
Sometimes all you need to get better is the right mind set, not the medications

Visit a cardiac clinic it might be a minor congenital defect that need a minor surgery

Best you go for the test.

Things are not has bad as they seems to be.. it best to go for check or some kind of scan to know what’s is going on.. I’m 33 and been taking heart heat medication for 14years..
