As for if Ighalo would have done better than Awoniyi vs Egypt, nobody should hold an Absolute Conclusion about that. Its not 100 for any of the Yes or No. But i can confidently say that for that shot Awo had, Ighalo's would have been hotter and might have scored. Its all experience but that's not a reason to call Awo a pretender. That's foolish.

To me Awo had a pleasant game with his own sweat and contribution doing what we needed to win. Our wasted chances weren't even at his feet but others.

You are loosing all sense of rationaity and clutching at delusional straws.

You are using the assumptive projection to contend with the factual. That will not work, you should know that , balance of probabilities, is not fact but speculative.

Fact Ighalo was the AFCON highest goal scorer Awoniyi, Sadiq, Onyekuru, even KC and Osimhen may or may not ever become one.

Until the AFCON is over, before we compare them then

That is the only fact here

Fact, Ighalo doing better against Egypt is also presumptive. He was not in the game, that is the fact. You make comparisons with who is present and what they did.

Has Ighalo played against Egypt before? Yes

Did he do anything spectacular? No

We are talking about a specific opponent here. That is the only basis for comparison that is worth comparing, every other thing is baseless

I can personally reach a conclusion that truly Ighalo has been disrespected here, but Komekn calling the current crop pretenders has turn this thing to UFC face-off. I can't take that either, even as an Ighalo fan.

I dunno maybe its a trend but we also didn't really trust Ighalo replacing Emenike that year.

Only thing i can say is Aboubakar scored the winner in 2017 final against Egypt, bullying their defence. That's something. I dunno how good their Midfield were compared to the one Ighalo played with at that last Afcon, but if its vs Egypt, towel dey floor.

Our current strikers are doing well this season at their clubs. They weren't called pretenders then. Nawa o

The only striker that is doing well this season in the squad is Awoniyi in the context of good quality.

Maybe I am not that informed please tell me the others .

And because I am highlighting the quality of Ighalo does not mean I am insulting Awoniyi.

I actually have met him and think very highly of him , very good professional really good young man.

This is a lie

Because Ighalo has played against Egypt and he did not do better.

So, it is a lie

If it is by top scorer, you better wait for the tournament to start proper, because Ighalo did not become top scorer after his first game. Una no go even wait for tournament to start before making ridiculous comparisons and arguments.n

when did he play against them, and under whose

Excuse me!!!! Did you also wait for the tournament proper before making that comment

And what's ridiculous about my reply and comments,

I will never understand why you people think that making fun of people out of the blue, unprovoked is a way to catch cruise

It is bullying, it is not catching cruise. Bullying is a crime in certain countries.

It is not funny, and it will never be funny. There are other ways, better ways to find humour without making another human being the butt of your jokes.

It is a disturbing thing to do on the internet, because people are going through real life problems, contending with real depression in life.

There can never be any true joy gotten from attacking people unprovoked. It is a demonic thing to do, because only the devil finds joy in such things.

Grow up

You Acknowledge he's doing well and yet called him pretender? That's an insult abeg. Its evident for alllll to see that his form is why he is in this squad. At least Trust the judgement of both Eguavoen and Amunike for this.

You actually did insult him. angry

Its not in the context of good quality alone, he's banged in his goals as well. That's enough to be a starter.

Im equally highlighting Ighalo's quality to this team and I've not even insulted any of the remaining 27 members of the squad. Is that hard to do? Means you're using emotions here now.

Ighalo played against Egypt in 2016 during the AFCON qualifiers, Nigeria lost that game 1-0

Ighalo started that game.

He clearly did not get on the scoresheet going by the scoreline. So, did he really do better? No.

He was starved of any balls and had only one shot in that game. We weren't in control of that game either especially after Etebo's injury and the goal minutes later.

But he barely had any engagement with the ball and coach was telling him to stay in his position despite he wanting to shift deep and get more engagements.

This sounds like a bunch of excuses

Awoniyi was called up for his first international cap on a stage as big as the Continental Cup. He was not even called up as the lead striker, he was called as a back up.

Out of the blue, he was thrown in as the lead CF, after waiting fruitlessly for the first choice that never showed up. Not only that, he faced a team as big as Egypt. A top team on the continent, for his FIRST INTERNATIONAL cap, at a CONTINENTAL tournament, with THE WORLD watching.

Yet, he put in such a glorious performance, and the only way somebody chose to commend him is by calling him a "pretender", and you don't think this is demonic behaviour?

Did Ighalo face Egypt? Yes

Did he do anything? No

Did he do better than Awoniyi? No

Everything else is tales by moonlight.

When you are overcome with emotion and sentiment you become fanatical in some respects it makes you the quintessential fan, one without rational.

As a result well thought out objective appraisal with key identified performance indicators analysed , becomes an insult to your emotively overcome mind.

When something is taken out of context and then misrepresented, who do you blame

I made a comparison of two strikers who have been top performers consistently over many years at top level. One is Ighalo and the other is Aboubakar, they both play in the same league. However, Ighalo is the top Goal scorer in that league.

But somehow one Aboubakar is idolised, praised with great respect and appreciation across the nation of Cameroon. However, our Odion is disgracefully denigrated and abused by many you included here.

You have continued in this vexatious bad spirited narrative for too long. Like a woman scorned and filled with bitter resentment. He was the highest goal scorer in the AFCON you still have nothing good to say.

Ighalo is on the team list not just at the tournament and the context of my

You've virtually said NOTHING here beyond attacking her personality, that makes it further uncomfortable to have any logical ground of reasoning with you. You are rather committing the fallacy of "what about you"

There are three persons you've made mention of here, Abubakar, Awoniyi and Igahlo. Not two as you are trying to alter. Awoniyi will perform well in the next game, perhaps a goal to crown up the effort.
